The outer space is vast the stars & planets are scantly located. Compare our solar system to a football court, the sun is like a football placed in the field and the rest of the 8 bigger planets are like a few marbles or nuts sparingly scattered. The closest system Alpha centuri (another football court) is over 3.5 ly aways.. and to use the football court analogy, it would be located somewhere between Mars and Jupiter...
