  • Is there a difference between a city dweller and country folk in observing global warming?

I'd venture to say yes.....And where does most of the population live? ....In cities....

  • thanks for the video man

  • What evidence?

  • It's an exiting time to be a climatologist. I wouldn't blame them for wanting their time in the sun if it didn't adversely affect so many other people. What I DETEST about this man is his belief that these measures will actually help. He will help to increase the starving in Africa, he will help to divert money where it isn't needed... he is an A1 ass-hole and I hope he dies soon

  • "Scientific proof" - there is no such thing. Theory, yes, proof, never!

  • @gourdonboy There is scientific PROOF of water, but we have to see to believe up untill last year.

  • cio' che nn capisco è dove sta il guadagno di bush e company? mi viene da pensare che ci guadagnano di più le industrie petrolifere a finanziare questa controinformazione, per farci fare soni tranquilli, e continuare a inquinare liberamente.

  • title of video should be convincing skeptics with climate change lies.

  • If you lock youself in a garage with a running vehicle your death will be swift.

If you sit in a sportsdome filled with trees and slowly replace the trees with running vehicles eventually there will not be enough trees to prevent your illness and eventually death .On a larger scale now is earth . And we are entering the illness phase .Guess we will leave the death phase for future generations .

  • What a load of rubbish. He kept saying the science is settled, but didn't provide one piece of supporting evidence to verify and consider.

    We're not all stupid :/

  • @tullyvey Ill provide it for you. "The Scientific Consensus on Climate Change", - Science 3 December 2004, Volume 306. no. 5702, p1686 DOI 10.1126/science.1103618

  • @indoril007

Thanks, that's thoughtful of you :)

I just watched "An Inconvenient Truth" again yesterday, playing spot the lie. I'll probably need at least a week before I can be bothered to go through this...

It's nice to see a supporter of the AGW hypothesis who doesn't insist that the time for debate is over!

By the way, I believed it myself until just a few years ago...

  • @tullyvey He works there, he asks professors, you only read blogs.

  • It is a reality that climate models cannot simulate accurately known large natural causes of temperature change.

Knowing this you claim the models are accurate none the less. Then you run your inaccurate models in an attempt to reproduce the warming from the 70's to the late 90's. Being a truncated over simplified version of reality it cannot reproduce that warming. You then proclaim man must be the cause because our models say so.

Do you really consider this a scientific arguement?

  • GEE, if Man makes it warm, then how did the Romans make it WARMER than it is today? Google - ROMAN WARM PERIOD WAS WARMER . Yes it was warmer 2,000 years ago with NO Fossil fuel burning.

  • Here again climate change skeptics like willowb22 provide no peer-reviewed publications to support his claims. It is a wonder how the uninformed, misinformed and just plain ignorant fossil-fuel industry lackeys cry like little girls when the climate change scientists continue to provide clear evidence that not only are the models working, but that the data is so compelling that it would be suicidal to ignore it.

  • climate models are his evidence? bullshit, climate models can not possibly encompass all the dynamic processes of the earth and the cosmos.

  • They can't even predict the weather accurately of next week, and they are trying to predict out to 20 years??? 100 years?!?!?!?

    Puh-lease.

  • You are freaking out about nothing.

Antarctica had coastal vegetation just 6000 years ago. Mankind survived.

Greenland had no glaciers just 600 years ago. Mankind survived.

Only 0.3 percent of atmospheric co2 can be attributed to human activity. Nature survives.

The climate changes, but curbing co2 emmissions has nothing to do with it.

  • So, modern civilization's infrastructure was in place 6K years ago. London, New York, Hamburg, Mombai and every other coastal city was built and ready for sea level rise.

The last time I checked, there have been zero findings of modern civilization infrastructure detected on Antarctica when you claim there was vegetation there.

Greenland's glaciers are far older than you claim. Which alternate universe do you come from? A, B or C? Planet X-0N?

  • This obsession that the human contribution to climate change will be disastrous starts with the following false assumption. "The climate without human intervention will always be compatible with human civilization." This seems to me to be an almost religious belief. I see no reason to believe there won't be another ice age at some point. Now that would be a catastrophe for humanity. This would be the result of the natural cycles of nature that are clearly indifferent to human existence.

  • Professor Tilman repeatedly says there is a wealth of evidence supporting the idea of anthropogenic climate change, and that virtually all of the data now supports the idea, but nowhere in this clip does he mention what that evidence is, nor does he address the strong contrary evidence. It is also sad to see someone absolutely ignore the harmful effects of giving government control over nearly all economic activity.

  • You won't do it but, you could easily discover the wealth and perponderance of evidence at websites such as NASA, NOAA, SIO, Woods Hole, EPA, DOE etc. The list of research institutions with the evidence is now huge. Try NSIDC, CDIAC, the 4 Assessment Reports from the IPCC. US Navy, DOD, and on and on.

Just because Dr Tillman didn't itemize each one for your ease of perusal, does not exclude them from existence.

  • I have looked at a great deal of the supposed evidence, and all of it fails to "explain" a couple of very important things:

    1) Why increased carbon levels supposedly have caused global warming, when in fact the carbon levels have increased AFTER the temperatures have increased, meaning the causal relationship is exactly the opposite of what the alarmists claim.

    2) Why the models have failed to predict recent cooling.

    3) How any sane person can believe that giving govt more control is good.

  • You haven't looked at squat. You dont have a vague notion of waht a feedback loop is.

    1. Milankovitch events in the orbit and spin of the earth start and end ice ages. Once earth starts to warm up because the orbit brings it closer to the sun, CO2 is released from the ocean and more warming occurs. This ie easy, well and long understood cause and effect. It's a longterm process that occurs without the injection of manmade GHG's over a very short period of time..

  • 2. It sounds like you can only see a global temperature graph that starts in 1998, a super el nino year. El Nino/La Nina events are not initiated by global warming. When they do start, global warming has raised the temperture of the global ocean. 2009 for example is another El Nino, the warmest recorded ocean surface tempertures, ever.

The good news is that this year there were no hurricanes in the Atlantic to take advantage of the El Nino's warmer ocean.
