BTW, speaking of John Thain, here's a guy that was so out of control in spending the company's money as his own that it shocked the world when it came out what types of things he bought on the company's dime:
$35,000 commode on legs
$17,100 traveling toilet boxes
$15,000 dog umbrella stand
$87,000 for an area rug, four pairs of curtains for $28,000, a pair of guest chairs for $87,000 and fabric for a "Roman Shade" for $11,000.
