The original was done by Smiths. I also thought it was an amazing cover the first time I heard it.

This version is by the PSYCHEDELIC FURS, When they regrouped in the 90's. The singer has one of the most distinct voices.

They were one of the best groups of the 1980's, like a lot of groups from that time was influenced by punk/ post punk but became more pop oriented as time went on.
