Im American. The only difference to me is that there humor is a bit more dry. There are a few things I dont get because it is relatable to English people, but for the most part I understand and truly enjoy the comedy.

I dont think its too difficult to understand that eastenders is a show about the east end. The clue is in the title. Anyway, this all detracts from the fact that this is a damn good show, and being British and lived in Britain my whole life, i can safely say (particularly to Mr. floridatarheel) that Ricky Gervais is not hated apart from by a tiny minority of people who dont 'get' his humour. They tend to be quite thick.
