  • ..was thinking it would be amazing to be among the circle of friends who might be able to see James spontaneously pick up a guitar and play

  • nice that JT patched things up with leland sklar.

  • He MUST have had a cold this day... He sounds sick.

  • x-mas all over again 21 th december scourie scoland highlands reporter is saluting you grza mile per tuti frutti del musica, great LA Chihira on facebook, remember the date 21 december Scourie in Scotland

  • James Taylor is awsome to this day .......new album on the way ...cant wait!!!

  • must be great to be able to interview either of these two fantastic singers,,,

  • I just have to look at James singing to feel good. Carole King is great any time anywhere. My internet connection is slow so I mute it the first time through - so I can hear the song ..............

  • JAMES is ; to this OLDIE..STILL.. a PHENOMENAL ARTIST!

  • the bassist is Leyland (Lee) Sklar, and yes, he played bass for Phil Collins on most of the "But Seriously" album.

  • Have you heard how Bob Dylan sounds these days?

  • I saw the original audio and this version does not do it justice. It sounds muffled.

I met James twice and he remembered the first time on my second encounter! He was one of the nicest stars I have met!

  • Wonderful to view commentary and hear the wonderful music. Growing up and hearing both your voices was very memorable and truly enjoyable! Thank you for your talents!!!!!!!!! (sherry fr Brainerd, MN)

  • I LOVE THEM BOTH, BUT CAROLE IS LIKE, "I`M WRITTING A BOOK" AND "LATER WE WILL SING SOMETHING OF MINE" HOW ARROGANT...

  • Man, that sound mix is appalling. Balance wrong, EQ wrong.. great musicians, though. How about Chewbaca on the bass, eh?

  • this is "our" song.

    <3

  • Is that god... ON BASS?!

  • Excellent artists, Beautiful song .. terrible sound.. modern computer sound can be so terrible, after a few rounds of conversion, to end with this flash player crap.. mp3 and mp4 compression schemes convert any sound in garbage. and nobody seems to perceive it or care.! !

  • We played this song at my fathers funeral. It's such a beautiful song :)

  • wonderful...

  • Search this on the tube if you think he can't sing anymore (bottom), this man is aces. Nothing but respect for James. At 63 and a survivor from some major league drug addicted years, not bad,

James Taylor & Carol King Fire & Rain Santa Barbara Bowl 5/18/10

  • Ah, JT hasn't had a drink in 27 years, update your info....or don't be a JT fan

  • I love the way they look at each other as they're performing.

  • Did that bass player play with Phil collins ? anyone ?

  • @phillyguy672 Yes he did ! ;)

  • @erikmeijs Erik, Phil, that's Lee Sklar, isn't it?

  • Comment removed

  • @phillyguy672 Google him...he's Leland Sklar and played bass for more people than you can imagine! Amazing how many albums and bands he's played on and with!

  • @phillyguy672 Leland "Lee" Bruce Sklar. Phil Collins and everybody else at one time or another. Seriously, you should google that name. Wikipedia list most of the albums he has played on.

  • @phillyguy672 Leland Sklar was one of the most prolific bass palayers from 1959 til today he has played with most of the members of the Rock and Poll Hall of Fame either in concert or studio.

  • @phillyguy672 the question is who HASN'T Lee played with?

  • Yes !

  • @phillyguy672 Phil, Erik, that's Lee Sklar, isn't it?

  • @phillyguy672 A better question is "is there anybody Lee Sklar hasn't played with?"

  • @maaris248 ....and Russ Kunkel!

  • @phillyguy672

His name is Lelan Skylar I think.

He is great bass player and has played with many bands. (JT, Jackson Browne, etc)

Not sure if he even played with Phil Collins though.

  • @phillyguy672 Leland Sklar!

  • Grateful for Uncle James

  • I can't seem to get over JT and CK. Makes me feel young.

  • can't wait to see them in Tampa next weekend!

  • Can't wait to see the tour in Toronto On Friday

  • Just terrible sound on this video.. don't hear any piano or bass.. so we will never know how he really sounded. prob. as always... great.

  • @Robinzingt Just check them out on the Letterman show. The sound is always fantastic on Dave's show --- he never takes any shortcuts when he's got a top musical act on his show.

  • James dont look too good, I know he's 60 but he looks every day of it and than some. His voice is rather lacking too, almost like he's sick?

  • @STEVEMOR909 I guess it must have been a temporarily thing ... since normally James still sounds great! Search any video of him in his current tour with Carole King and you'll hear that. And it's also partly because of the bad sound mix by NBC ... Carole and James performed on the David Letterman show the same evening and sounded marvelous!

And I do believe he looks rather good, for a 62-year old with a somewhat heavy past behind him ;)

  • @erikmeijs It's probably because The Today Show is a live early (at least for them) morning show...not many musicians sing well that early...

  • @STEVEMOR909

James Taylor has an amazing voice. They had to probably sing this at 5 a.m. when they tape these morning shows. I read somewhere that the people hosting them get up at 3 to 4 a.m. so it's probably that: hard to be in good voice that early.

  • Your right he does! The latest tour with Carole is sure a big hit. It just blows my mind all these decades Carole didnt tour and than she comes back at age 69 to do it with an old musical partner. I think part of James problem is a rough life, some alcoholism issues, he has the mileage! But he's a great talent!

  • @STEVEMOR909 I don't agree I think he sounds brilliant!

  • @STEVEMOR909 He still rips that fucking guitar doesnt he?

    Sounds like an EQ prob

  • @STEVEMOR909 who are you to judge his appearance....and what does it truly matter?! How bout appreciating the fact that he is a LEGEND; and in our minds and souls still in this day and age we -really are!

  • @STEVEMOR909 Looks are only in the mind of the beholder and does it really matter what we or any musician looks like...if we have the voice now or from the past of JT or CK....and others to judge the way they sound now? Are you Jesus?
