@Everett07630 I've seen that vid. It's basically a Glock commercial. Glocks are awesome handguns, but to anyone that says "1911 suck", all I say back is:

"World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq Campaign, Afghanistan Campaign."

I'll reference the 100+ year track record over what one guy has to say when determining if the 1911 is a solid platform.

@millerusaf I don't necessarily see it as an glock informerical. Glock has a track record that sells itself, and their firearms have had their share of hiccups too - especially when they first came out with their .40 S&W. Nevertheless, he does makes a very compelling case in regards to out-of-the-box modern 1911's not being self-defense or combat ready / reliable sidearms. I do think this will cause a certain level of butt-rape amongst the 1911 shooters. It will be fun to watch them rage :-D

@Everett07630 Problem is he loses tons of credibility when he says something like "the first 1911s had arched mainsprings similiar to a Glock". The first 1911s had flat mainspring housings. I honestly think he put that video up just to cause a stir.

Like I said, the 1911 design has really proven itself over the years. The problems come from companies trying to reinvent the wheel with changes here and there on the 1911 design.
