I first heard this about 20 years ago on the Time Life Treasury of Christmas collection that someone taped for me from their cd.A few years ago i ordered it myself and out of all the songs on the 2 cd set this is probably my favorite.I have always loved Dolly and love this version.Merry Christmas everyone.

Really under-rated as a musician, Ms. Parton.

There is so much 'sophisticated' musicality being carried of with a total lack of pretension. He says pretentiously. But segues like that take talent and thought.

To all those who say you do not like Dolly's voice, I sincerely wonder which music you are listening to (and I am not writing this with hostility). Listen to her bluegrass songs - those REALLY show her gift for creating fabulous harmonies. The Grass is Blue, Will He Be Waiting, and the other songs from The Grass is Blue album and Little Sparrow - and those are her later works! Just take a moment to listen...and then reflect on the fact that SHE wrote all the music and lyrics...she's a genius.
