I loved being a teen in the late 80's. But my music taste has developed since then; I used to love the Stock, Aitken and Waterman productions, but now I think their music sucks. Still, a lot of the *other* music produced back then still sounds fantastic.
#40 sucks to hell - I didn't think it was possible for a rock classic to murdered in such brutal way by novelty hip-hop - but the rest of your list is pretty impressive, excepting #35 and #27, because Michael Jackson is a hyped-up dancer, nothing else!
im really impressed, i really wish i could of been a teen in the 80's! All of the videos told storys, it wasn't just stupid girls dancing around half-naked, it was actual decent music with decent singers with more than a pretty face and way too much auto-tuning, im amazed! take me back to the 80's! im only 14 i was born in the 90's, the 00's suck!
I can appreciate the time and effort you put into choosing your top songs of the 80's. However, having "been there" your songs are mostly hit and miss. There were some tremendous songs that made a HUGE impact on culture and society. I can appreciate having favorites....but to classify these as "top songs of the 80's", your list misses the mark badly.
thank you thank you thank you!!!! AMAZING JOB! Hey do you know also an african song in 80's, very famous with a title like ''qe qe qe''...it was from an african man who was singing like a woman! :)
