I saw John Denver in concert once...a total accident tho. Someone donated 50 tickets to his Abilene Texas concert to the police department, and being a brand new officer I figured "no way will I get one"....I did and it was wonderful!

I received a CD this weekend from a friend with 22 tracks of random JD songs. I was unfamililar with this song and have been lookikng for information when I happened to stumble upon this video. What timing!!!

Thanks for writing. After John did this, Placido Domingo recorded it, and then Dionne Warwick sang it for a United Way ad -- all arranged & conducted by the composer, Michael Miller. Michael originally composed it as a feature for himself when he won the Frank Sintra Composing Award while a student at UCLA in 1977.
