  • Yea, now SHE's here again.. .

  • kate is so special

  • best

  • Bloody ggod

  • Simply just wonderful

  • She is such a talented singer/songwriter.

  • Kate Bush, there, the lovely Kate Bush with the ‘Man With The Child In His Eyes’… …which brings us on very neatly to my next guest, Mr. Stephen Brai, whose father invented Cats Eyes.

  • @glapots Alan Partridge bloody loves Kate Bush. And Toblerones. The man has taste.

  • @zack11993 and the best bond ever in Roger Moore

  • Haha brilliant- can't beat Alan Partridge :)

  • Good lord, listen to her voice...

  • A true Artist and performer.

    So unique.

  • One of THE MOST beautiful songs ever written!

Shame there is a total lack of this level of creativity today.

  • Kate Bush has to have the most original style ever. Who could copy the purity of her singing

  • You are so right. Unlike those on X factor etc. this girl could sing.

  • Kate's début album is still the most erotic I've ever heard.

  • I'd quite like to hear Tori Amos cover this (if she hasn't already).

But making do with Kate's version is hardly "slumming it" !

  • @yesterlife No, the only Kate songs Tori Amas has covered are "Running Up That Hill" and "And Dream Of Sheep".

  • @yesterlife yea i should think its the other way around kate is best suited to this song and toris performance would be slumming it

  • @yesterlife I'm sorry but Tori Amos has absolutely nothing to add to the mysterious revelation that Kate Bush is. Let's hope Tori leaves Kates repertoire for what is: Brilliant original and complete. It's in a dimension where no one else will ever be.

  • @yesterlife

Yes it would be nice to hear Tori Amos sing along to a nice song, but until she writes one herself, you'll just have to slum along to her only two Kate Bush covers, "Up That Hill" and "And Dream Of Sheep".

  • You are absolutely right. Her talent was so obvious, even to someone as young as me. In my (ridiculous) opinion, she should have achieved so much more commercially, but, nevertheless; what she did achieve was amazing, especially as she was as young as she was.

  • B R I L L I A N T ! Perfect to me.

  • @Parthoris I agree

  • Just when I think I have made up my mind for my favourite Kate Bush song, I change my mind, again. Then I become resigned to the fact that it is an impossible task. Having a preference for a song would be like saying to Kate, 'No, we only need one of your songs.' Why on earth would I want to stop her from giving these brave and individual songs to us.

  • So perfect to me....genius lyrics.

  • I love her to bits.

  • giving me goosebumps hearing this again.....

  • why are you all hung up on god - its just kate's divinity - amazing

  • proper singing by a proper star

  • Meravigliosa

    Merveilleuse Wonderful

  • Kate please sing at a live concert we need to here your voice so go on tour and get in touch with pink the two of you have changed the world of music, like ripples in the stream of LIFE><.

  • The piano playing is brilliant

  • Brilliant, need i say more ?

  • where are the wide eyes???

  • Her hair is awful in this vid, but as well as being an astonishing singer songwriter Kate is a beautiful woman!

  • @richwicz Her hairstyle still looks a whole lot better than the chav hairdoes today.

  • music like this should have 10 million hits at least

  • and to think she was so unique that she was ridiculed at the time... what a talent

  • people like kate are comets!!...i think dave gilmour helped her early on in her career...if that information is correct then i give the guy total respect for seeing real class!!!..

  • Didn't she write this when she was about 14? She's still fantastic after all these years.

  • @petepao hi,yep you're right.she did write this when she was 14.blows these fuckwits that are on x factor out of the water when you think of the maturity & talent to write something as beautiful as this at 14 :)

  • Are 17 people mad..........?

  • i have to say kate bush song writing is up there with lennon and mcartney.

  • Watching this (once again) I feel so happy to have lived in an era wherein there were still TRUE fantastic female musicians around.

  • @blackesteyes1962 You're lucky! Although I still think there's some great female musicians around today...you just have to look *extra* hard for them.

  • Just beautiful.

  • amazing....and she was soooo young!

  • ja is geil!!!

  • fortunately i have a 36 year old girlfriend that has put the child back in my eyes im 57

  • @brucep216 - Wey Hay!!! ;-D

  • @brucep216 the man with the money in his wallet

  • Starter for Ten by David Nicholls brought me here

  • Just Brill....

  • What's amazing is that she wrote a lot of her songs from this era when she was 15.

  • one of her best songs

  • She still has,her new album comes out on 21st november.

  • What an amazing voice she had.

  • some things are just so pure and fresh in your memory

  • Im 14,ive grown up listening to 70's-80's music, alot of it Phil Collins,Kate Bush,David Bowie dexys midnight runners, alot of that music.I dont enjoy my generations music, its loud and you can't understand a single word, and when you can the meaning is gobblesbottom (like my word? i know, its amazing;]) Kate to me is like a fish and water, they have to have it or they wont survive, exact same.

  • My father died recently, 'The man with a child in his eyes is so apt for him, he was one adorable big kid and certainly entertained his grandchildren in a similar way....

  • @carolinebl100 even the stars fade in time

  • I love this song...beautiful!

  • This isn't even her most popular song on Youtube.

I personally feel this is her best song and in MY all time top 100 favorite songs.

  • I love this song :)

  • Gratefull. A very great Artist. I love her

  • kate has never lip synced, she is absolutely fabulous live.Just a piano and a beautiful voice sung by a very beautiful sensual lady

  • symphony in blue

  • anyone notice there's a ghost rolling around on the piano.......?

  • Genial!!!

  • Now compare this angelic music to the absolute trash we have today. Where did we go wrong? What an angel Kate Bush is.

  • Kate Bush is fucking gorgeous.

  • @Rob23 with you

  • Simply stunning performance. Kate's music is hypnotic, and highly compelling. The lyrics are from another Universe, in their beauty:)

  • God. she's beautiful.

  • and, she's not lip syncing. REALLY LIVE!! Awesome.

  • wow, never seen this. Thanks!!!

  • 1 of the most beautiful songs ever written

  • Incredible on so many levels!! Beauty, voice, writing ability, charismaetc etc etc

  • Kate Bush is a classic...again, close your eyes and just listen...

  • So much talent...

  • Thanx upload really brilliant xx

  • most beautiful woman ever...

  • Kates so wonderful - true original

  • stunning

  • Happy Birthday Kate!!!

  • Unique! You can instantly recognise KB's voice pretty much the same way you'd know Karen Carpenter was singing,or Streisand!

  • Just beautiful.Stunning song and a stunning lady,

  • there are musicians and every now and then a genius appears.no one realises at the time .now we know how amazing she was and is

  • AN IMMENSE TALENT. "REAL" MUSIC.

  • Sensational ;-)

  • I liked her voice back then, but it's only now I see the genius of the songwriting.

    A rare British Rose

  • I liked Kate Bush back then. I appreciate her even more now because I realise the maturity of the product. This is my personal favourite song of hers.

  • bleedin brilliant

  • An angel sent down from heaven

  • God that voice. So haunting it pierces your soul, yet so soft it fills it with warmth. I'm not religious by nature, but this is divine.

  • top music....takes you someplace else....

  • kate bush is the best british female artist i wish more people could listen to her music then they would understand real talent .the female artist we have now are no were near as good as kate bush

  • check out Hue and Cry`s version of this. Its as good as this (well almost!)

  • @TheTheoldgit are you mad hue an cry what a pile of crap

  • @TheTheoldgit

Hue & Cry?....the Cringe-o-Meter on my desk just exploded!

How can you even mention those two eejits in the same breath as the wonderfully effervescent Kate Bush?

Have you had your ears amputated by any chance?

Hue & Cry - they're the Scottish 'Milligan and Nesbitt', fur foxache!

  • GREAT how much goosebumps one can get from only a piano and a heavenly voice

I make music too but Kate is in a class of her own with some songs of her Fabulous Thanks for sharing the vid so we can enjoy her voice when we want :)

  • I simply adore Kate bush's music, but I find it really hard trying to listen to a lip-synced performance... I hope she tours pretty soon and sings live (=^ェ^=)

  • @mysterious493 This performance appears pretty 'live' to me. Actually, I am close to 100% sure that this is a live performance. Why do you think or suggest otherwise?

  • @hminkema Idk, I guess its just feels too smooth to sound like a live recording. If it is a live recording, then damn she's an awesome singer!

  • @mysterious493 Oh, but she definitely is! Just listen to other live performances from the same period (around 1980). Besides, this performance has many deviations from the well-known studio recording, both in tempo, vocal colour, the free 'rubato' rhythm, and sometimes even the notes (0:39, 2:02). It's just impossible to lip-sync a song with this many variations. What you hear is 'natural Kate'. They hardly make 'em like this anymore.

  • Kate, back in the day was so hot

  • There are a few people like Kate on this planet....such a big impact, yet for so many people unknown artist .... thank you for posting.

  • love

  • Perhaps the greatest, but most underrated female artist of all time!

  • @1legman ...shes not underrated, the people loves her for what she is !!

  • @1legman not perhaps, i would say definitely

  • @1legman well, anyone who knows anything about music will agree that she is a phenomenon. but, true, only very few can appreciate her genius.

  • @1legman i think you're right

  • @1legman . Not sure you can call Kate Bush underated just undiscovered by this generation.. give them time.. they will soon catch up

  • amazing singer, i love her

  • you're both right yet both equally wrong... in fact kate bushovinikik, nee katyana limkjo, former kgb agent and russian spy wrote the ephermeral "I Will Amass You Into my system of simple ideas, convict" as a mad bet with her communist superiors on vodka fuelled night commemorating Lenin's conception. Famously, she claimed that she used to know a man with boils in his eyes.

  • I bought this when it came out and played it constantly. Still my favourite Kate song...

  • what 13 year old writes lyrics like this, very odd, but amazing

  • Kate Bush is a world treasure.

  • great

  • You should be lucky all Britts having that treasure

  • Imagine an album made by kate Bush and John Martyn, their voices and usic would reflect so well!

  • simply beautiful, a national treasure.

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • erection time

  • what happened to this woman through the years? thanx

  • @bladerunner6 She just released a new album this last fortnight.

  • @bladerunner6 She made more great albums/songs. Her latest album was released on May 16th.

  • I love Kate Bush, she's so beautiful and angelic, both inside and out. Her music is pure, wise, and talented. This performance is outstanding.

  • Dedicated to Joseph Ratzinger, I'm sure :P

  • Love this song! ! ! !..Reminds me of the Harp and I...Eventually we will be together 4~ever and the whole world will know about my man.

  • It does not get much better than this.

Todays female performers get nowhere Kate, she did not rely on gimmicks.

  • perhaps human nature. At 40 im looking for pre teens inspiration of love. After wards mean nothing...no romance.

  • a breathtakingly beautiful song, makes my skin tingle.

  • This is everything thats synonomous with Kate Bush. The intelligent lyrics intermingled with a quintessentially British voice the like I have not heard anywhere else. Her unique brand makes her stand out as someone who is just that little bit special. The ideal woman for so many men in her day oozing sex appeal before even singing. I have nothing but admiration for such an artist who was and still is thirty years later an icon of a bygone age. Thank you so much Kate Bush.

  • Haha I love this song - but it proves a sad thing. Noel fielding was not the created o the mirrorball suit. I'm gonna go cry now. X

  • god i love this song

  • Great voice.talented woman.

  • nice!

  • I used to think was the most romantic song.... but now that I know she wrote this when she was only 13 it sounds creepy, like she's singing about being in love with a manipulative adult molester who would sneak into her room at night. Yuck.

  • I've been wondering, who is she singing about? Santa, or perhaps someone else, unknown? any theories?

  • @TheFatalDesire.This song was written about Steve Blacknell,Kate's first boyfriend.

  • @Katefanforever Oh, thanks, I searched everywhere. Really, thanks.

  • @TheFatalDesire.You're welcome!

  • @Katefanforever Well, that story seems rather dubious to me. Of course that guy may think that Kate wrote it for him and it's possible she may have dedicated the song to him. But since Kate was only 12 years old when she started writing the song and finished it at 14, I don't think she wrote it for him. Kate has said several times that the song is not about a particular man.

  • I was 17 at the time and she appeared on Saturday night LIve. I had never heard of her before but her performance was etched into my seventeen year old memory. I never heard of her again in the US, but 4 years later while an art student in NY I was able to purchase her albums, all of them. I have been a fan ever since. She is amazing right? A real gift to the world.

  • probably my favourite. soooo bloomin beautiful

  • Oh wow! (I know..."unbelievable") But this is great, with just her voice and the piano. She plays beautifully! And how neat to hear her interpret this song after she started pushing her voice!

  • I see my boyfriend when I hear this song.

  • I listen to Kate Bush every day. I love all of her albums. Her best tracks, in MY opinion: 1.The Dreaming 2.Wow 3.Sat In Your Lap 4.Wuthering Heights 5.Hounds of Love 6. Army Dreamers 7.The Sensual World 8.Pi 9.Coffee Homeground 10.Watching You Without Me 11.The Wedding List 12.Babooshka 13.Delius (Song of Summer) 14.Egypt 15.L'Armour Looks Something LIke You 16.The Fog 17.Kite 18.There Goes a Tenner 19.Suspended in Gaffa 20.An Architect's Dream

  • que voz incrível

  • Wow Wow Wow Wow Wow..... Amazing Kate.

It would be an honour to see you on tour again, I live in hope.

  • Amazing :-)

  • ...imer noch echt schön...

  • This woman is amazing.Ive listend to her music eversince i was 13yrs old and now im 43.

I have never forgotten her beautiful voice and her great songs.

She has always had a place in my heart and in my memory.

Fantastic woman who brings back memories of my early childhood days when the police and the who were in the charts.

    Brilliant artist.

  • @valen0011 Considering she wrote this when she was 14 thats some talent.

  • Woooow. Kate Bush you are extraordinary

  • i worked as a stagehand for her concert in Munich in 1978. she was beautiful, amazing and people threw bouquets of roses on the stage...

  • lovely Kate.A great piece of work, beautiful timeless song.

  • beautiful and so so inteligent,,

  • BEAUTIFUL, so so special.

  • omg, i hadn't birth yet oO

  • Wrote it when she was 13. Owns owns owns.

  • I didn't realise that Kate was such a good pianist

  • i'm down here!

  • Kate the Legend and that is how she will be remembered for future generations, timeless performance

  • Oh god this is pure class. So beautiful, so talented. These days no longer exist in music anymore I'm afraid. What I'd give to be there now!

  • I love this. As if she's singing to me directly. I feel like the man with the child in his eyes.

  • Such a wonderful artist - made in England

  • i think Kate can do the most simplest of songs

    most beautifully.

    A TRUE ARTISTE.

  • Kate wrote this masterpiece at the tender age of 13 back in 1975. Simply astounding. Consider the pap in the charts these days and reflect on whether we've actually progressed at all.

  • @wimeysimey Kate Bush was 17 in 1975.

  • @wimeysimey 15 not 13

  • @wimeysimey in 1975 she'd have been 17 not 13 :S

  • @zayyakkk You're correct - my bad. Apparently Kate wrote the song when she was 13 but didn't record it until June 1975, a month before her 17th birthday.

  • @wimeysimey kate bush was 17 in 75 her first record wuthering heights went to number 1 when she was 20

  • @wimeysimey . Music has gone backwards ay mate
