This Incident ur talking is not about 1 or 2 People it's about people I think more than 300 or so who was Fired at that Time Motherfucker and It was not done by Rai or Limbu but was done by all Nepalese Battalion who were there. A lot of pictures (@ 0:15, 0:19, 0:45, 0:55) used in this video series are from Bruce M. Niven's book "The Mountain Kingdom: Portraits of Nepal and the Gurkhas," (1987, Singapore). B. M. Niven was a Colonel in the Gurkha regiment. The pictures from this book appear to be from 1961-62 when he trekked across Nepal. One of my teachers in school had this book and I was surprised to see several pictures from our village. I couldn't find this book anywhere in Kathmandu. Now it's available on amazon.

Yeah this is sad. We cannot only blame bahun-chettris government because MaGuRaLI also have help the bahun-chettri government in destabilizing Nepal. MaGuRaLi today no doubt have access to modern education yet still they lack behind because MaGuRaLi have the tendency to do poor in education but do good in other less important stuff such as fashion, biking, showing off, drinking alcohol , etc. MaGuRaLi have become a household for foreign mercenary serving their white master instead of Nepal.

rai bro, having seen your numerous youtube comments, I'd say that this time you are right on spot! It's not that the MaGuRaLI community don't have access to education as in the times of our fathers and grandfathers for whom the best option was to enlist in the Indian or the British army. The biggest problem is the lack, or paucity, of role models other than Gurkha soldiers who have more money and more prestige than others.

While the Gurkha tradition has contributed positively to the MaGuRaLI community, it has also hindered empowerment of the community.Despite being able to afford the best education, most of the children of Gurkha soldiers grow up not learning to value education. During their growing up years, the father is not around, and the mother has little or no education. The children grow up lacking proper guidance.

By the time the father is retired from the service and the family is together, it's too late. The sons are not much interested in higher studies and again the best option is to join the army, and thus,the Gurkha tradition continues. Even if that is not the case, due to its huge prestige,particularly in the MaGuRaLI community, joining the Gurkha army still appears to be the best option.

But without education, there can be no sustainable empowerment. You can see some (political) empowerment nowadays, largely because of the Maoist war, but it is difficult to believe in it's sustainability, because you can not have civil wars every now and then.

I am not inclined to blame others (Brahmin-Chhetri), instead the MaGuRaLI community has to learn the tools of the trade- (higher) education, greater participation in government and politics etc.

Later few more Gurkhas join in the fight when other Americans tried to help their officers.

So these few Gurkhas were court martial for manhandling the British-US officers and their men. They were ordered to give out names of those who involved in this ugly incident and ordered to step up. None of the Gurkhas did or none of the Gurkhas revealed who did it. So the British Army sent 111 Gurkhas back home(Nepal) with no pension and benefits. This event is known as Hawaiian incident of 1986.

@TaMaGuRaLi, here's what happened. The 7th Gurkha Regiment who are mostly made up of Rais and Limbus were deployed in Hawaii in 1986 to have yearly exercise with the American forces. That year some of the American officers went to far. They looked down on the Gurkhas and called them dogs, slaves and all sort of demeaning name. They insulted the name of Gurkhas and Nepal. So 1 or 2 Gurkhas battered the U.S officers. The British officers too intervene but helped the U.S officers.
