honastly, ure the most retarded persone ive ever seen. not about you forgetting ure grips, but for not even try to do a routine, just suck it up princess.
Illustrating the differences in strength accomplishment, the gymnast should always lead any field in ring strength movements, yet do a poor clean & jerk whereas the lighter classes cj men might be able to achieve an IC solely on strength in holding big weights overhead. Vaulters and tumblers have strongest legs of gymnasts. Bell High in Hurst TX had a deep tanned "Mike Smith" circa 1972 who seemed to be able to hold IC long enough to gather cobwebs same was true of Jerry Adrian.
I have a cross trainer. It reduces the resistance your muscles must overcome by lever physics. Currently I am working on an iron cross at 60% bodyweight, about 95lbs. Just holding an iron cross for a few seconds like this makes my serratus anterior, lats, and pecs hurt like no other exercise I've ever done. Very, very difficult.
Iron Cross by far. Unless you somehow are very lacking in your bicep and lat strength. But I'm still not sure if it would be possible to not have the oap by brute muscle alone once the cross is attained.
My friend who can do the iron cross as a competitive gymnast was able to do the one arm chin with his good arm (the other had a torn biceps tendon) without ever having tried to do it.
iron cross is much harder ! i can do both, i never trained 1 arm chins and i can do 5 or 6 on each arm. i can hold y cross for 5 or 6 seconds and i had 2 train 4 it specifically. p.s, well done man, really good cross ;-)
i was doing press to handstands/shoulderstands, Shoot to handstands (bent arms), backlevers, backuprises, backuprise to crosses, backwards roll to L supports, dislocates, Homna to L-crosses, inverted crosses, kip to crosses, etc. when i was 7, i was level 5. =]
but when i was nine, my coach moved back to Bulgaria and all of my teammates quit because our new coach didn't speak much english; so i quit as well.
i never use grips and like all my tricks are swing tricks (cast inlocate inlocate back uprise L shoulderstand, back uprise l shoulder stand dislocate dislocate back off) and i never had a problem y didn't you do something like that and where is this
it's always good to train with your coach to help you just to point that you can do 3rd cross with the last strength in you. Or take some elastics and grab each end and hop on rings, then step in the middle end try the iron cross. that are just examples and there are a million more exercises, so just work hard and don't rush your head in wall.
Yes AhmadFrenzel, musculus123 is right, Infact I used the elastic bands alot, and still do. Also remember that rings is a very specific event. If you want to get stronger at a strengh move on rings, you have to work that strength move specifically. Liffing a hole bunch of wieghts to make your arms strong ain't gonna do you any good at all on rings. Its all about the specific muscle groups.
well that was the first one I have ever competed, And I can do one almost effortless now, that actually goes all the way down and holds, but sure why not? whats your advice?
nice, solid cross. respect.

Samtheman002 4 years ago
great! i need some advice on learning the iron cross, are there special exercises to do or is it just practise practise practise?
AhmadFrenzel 4 years ago
Same, I do gymnastics. I don't do highbar atall because it peels my skin of completly.
kumaasc 4 years ago
wait so you just did an iron cross for your routine?
nice... my coach would have never let me do that... it was pretty solid though.
moregooder101 5 years ago
yep just one little iron cross, without my grips there was really nothing else I could do lol
Samtheman002 5 years ago
yeah i used to be a gymnast... rings suck without grips.
but high bar is far worse =)
moregooder101 5 years ago
I'll second that, I currently have 7 rips on my hands owing to the rings and high bar.
The ironcross was nice. Saw a guy do one inverted last weekend at a competition, very impressive.
