  • fuck i have don that job for years trust me u dont want no parta in get a stable job in town go home every night to hott dinner and famly its not worth it

  • can someone help me with getting hired on a job like that?

  • man i wanna do this work

you earn alot in a short time

  • Plus you can die in a short time

  • where is my sound?

  • I was working for a Safety magazine a few years ago (before Deadliest Catch) and was interviewing a crab boat captain about safety on his ship. He was going on about safety precautions and training and trust, etc., and sounded like he knew what he was talking about, so then I asked "if you're so good about safety, how come your industry has more deaths and injuries than any others?" And he looked at me and said "well, the Bering Sea just doesn't like people very much." Good answer.

  • i know this is one of the most dangerous jobs u can have, but how do they die, get lost, hurt, ect? do they fall off, fight with the crabs or what?

  • fall off =o

  • im not saying anything about the video u dumb fuck..i was just saying crab fishing is the most dangerous job in the world

  • its not "the" most dangerous, sure is high on the list though. total respect to those guys for going out there

  • actually mr smart guy...it has toped the list for over 10 years..every week atleast 5 crab fishermen are either lost or dead.

  • really, more than 5 firefighters are killed worldwide everyweek, so if you're counting "mr smart guy"

btw, lost or dead???? do they find the lost ones??

  • and more than 5 pilots die per week, do you want me to list more for you?

  • how can u find a guy in a lost sea of ice when so much people are lost they dont even care anymore

  • i know that, my "do they find the lost ones" was a sarcastic comment, guess that was lost on any american viewers!!!

  • i like it great video

  • fake, no person would be on that boat. the waves are to big, and that pot is way to dangerous for it to be real.

  • at least one person dies a week into this work, although it is more dangerous is being police in L.A

  • no they do not, on average a lot die, yes but its not one a week or anywhere near that

  • i love how ppl think this is fake

id like to see them TRY and last a week on a crap boat lol

  • HEY FANS, I GOT A NEW VIDEO..

    SIG

  • how long does a king crab season last and what would be an average wage/share per crew member be for an average to good season?

    all the best

  • this IS fake. done in universal. my buddy does the effect on small model ships

  • i just watched a show on tv last night .... They stay out in sea for about 5 days mostly working none stop throwing in up to 100 crab cages, after the five days it a race back to the loading docks before the crabs die off. The Wage/Money is pretty good with each person getting around $16,000 to $20,000 each .... Not bad for 5 days of work.

  • vegastud2001 = gay wanna be gay crabber. nothing more gay than a crab fisherman than a wanna be crab fisher !!! lol you wanna be

  • its all fake. the guys on these boats suck eachother off

  • That kinda looks like the Cornelia Marie (note the turquoise color). I say this be a hoax.

  • Don't believe anyone or anything on the internet. Rule #1.

  • carebreve is no crab fisherman, he doesn't even know the word "greenhorns", he called them green hands, what a fake, loser has probably never been in water deeper than his bathtub. If anyone wants to talk to a real Alaskan crab fisherman, i'm right here.

  • really? what boat were you on? how long have you crabbed? did you do browns, reds, opies? tender in the summer or siene?

  • vegastud2001 = gay wanna be gay crabber. nothing more gay than a crab fisherman than a wanna be crab fisher !!! lol you wanna be

  • the f/v north sea lucked out in 2004.. they were finished harvesting before the M/V Selendang ayu crashed and continues to spill toxic foamed soybeans ( 130million pounds) that ruined first year of "crab ratz"...if you know of "crab ratz?

  • how were the waves there? the waves in this video didnt seem to be so high.

  • this was recorded off of a television with a handy cam

  • My uncle is a skipper on a crab boat in Alaska. Since he and his wife have no children, i am the one that he takes when a season begins even though i am a girl. I work mostly on bringing the Pots up and unloading them. I have doing stuff like this with him since i was 13 and i am now 19. Its a hard job but im not complaining when i get about $14,000-$24,000 depending on each season

  • I've been a crabber for 13+yrs, I have broke my hand,4 ribs, foot, fractured my hip, tibia, and and my wrist, I have a scar form being stabbed by a wire hanging on the pot in my stomach, scars from numerous other things, This job is Dangerous, but mostly mentally stressful for the green hands! It will break a grown man down as soon as 1 day. I have see men cry to get off the boat! these videos aren't bad..But when the weather turns, and gets stormy, people Die, but you still work through that!

  • I now raise my glass to all you guys everytime I eat crab! Cheers!

  • Don`t forget the A-boats, back in the day, before the tragedy came.

  • Don`t forget the A-boats... and 14 men lost Valentines Day 1983.

  • boat share is a bitch eh ??

  • love this pogram

  • Only $22,000 for 92,000 lbs? Here in the US king crab sells for about $10 per pound...

  • let me explain, that is 92,000lbs @ $4.80 per lb. = $441,000. i get 5% of the 441K. which makes me $22,000.

  • Oh I see, I thought you meant $22,000 for the whole crew, ship costs & everything coming out of that.

  • I live in mexico and i'm interested in going to alaska to work in a crab fishing ship, do you think you could hook me up?

  • Thanks for clarifying, vegastud. I was wondering why so many would go through so much for so little. I still think $22k isn't enough for what you guys go through, but you're out there, not I, so you know better.

Keep up the great work and stay strong.
