Actually, the 1980-81 season of TJW did appear on GSN at some point, but only the Million Dollar Tournament episodes were reran. You might be thinking of the 1983-84 season of TJW that GSN didn't air at all.
I believe this was taped off of KHJ-TV (now KCAL-TV) in L.A.

Not to nitpick or anything, but this was actually from 1984, Jack Barry was still hosting in 83, and he didn't pass away until 1984.

There were actually 2 other seasons they never showed. The 1980-81 and 1981-82 seasons.
