Rats and mice testing has saved human lives in labs. They see if rats or mice have a treatment in their bodies and are used to cure plagues and diseases, I think of it as a bad thing in the sense that they should have the right to be atleast put down peacefully or to cut the amount of rats and mice down by 50%. I'm no PETA fag, but using animals for lab experimentation is cruel. Rodents are very intelligent and show some characteristics that are vaguely human-like. I used to have a pet albino rat and she was just like a miniature dog or cat as far as intelligence and playfulness goes. And doing experimentation on apes is even worse.

Cages cannot be overcrowded, animals must receive clean food and water, they must be anesthetized for surgery. If the rules are not followed, the whole lab's funding gets yanked. Also their skin, so dermatologic tests are carried out. The People who campaigned against aids medicines being developed delayed the release of that drug for four years, and thousands of HIV, Aids sufferers died a lot earlier.
On the other hand, many lower organisms don't have reactions like mammals so they can't be used. Example: fruit flies don't have immune systems like we do so are not good models for cancer research. Same for worms, cell culture etc...you need a mammalian immune system. Animal research isn't cruel, cancer is cruel.

Painkillers are not going to interfere with the normal biological processes with exception of inhibiting the nervous system. This is precisely why painkillers are allowed to be used in conjunction with medication that we use.
Otherwise, we would not be able to use morphine in hospitals.

Medications fight off symptoms and the disease itself. Painkillers control just one of the symptoms (and often completely unrelated) - they do not destroy bacteria, stop bleeding or prevent cancer cells from multiplying.

I know from a friend who works at a chemical laboratory that they are not alloved to give any other drug to the rats than the one they are testing because it interfere with the results. They kill them later by hand.

Rats and mice testing has saved human lives in labs. They see if rats or mice have a treatment in their bodies and are used to cure plagues and diseases, I think of it as a bad thing in the sense that they should have the right to be atleast put down peacefully or to cut the amount of rats and mice down by 50%. Those of you that think rats and mice lab tests should be no more, just think about the major organs being replaced in your body because your old ones were not functional anymore without.

I'm no PETA fag, but using animals for lab experimentation is cruel. Rodents are very intelligent and show some characteristics that are vaguely human-like. I used to have a pet albino rat and she was just like a miniature dog or cat as far as intelligence and playfulness goes. And doing experimentation on apes is even worse.

Quit with the scare tactics. Hantavirus is incredibly rare, there are like 30 cases of it a year in the US. There is no scientific evidence that shows breast cancer in humans linked with mice, and even if it was, you'd have to inject the affected cells into your own. Search for "Mouse Mammary Tumor Virus"--you'll find lots of papers. There have been quite a few studies and a growing suspicion that the little buggers are vectors for a virus that ultimately kills about half a million people a year.

Cages cannot be overcrowded, animals must receive clean food and water, they must be anesthetized for surgery. If the rules are not followed, the whole lab's funding gets yanked. Dude I don't think scientists need to monitor or research rats/mice vomiting. It is more hematology orientated experiments which we use these tests for. Their blood is similar to ours. Also their skin, so dermatologic tests are carried out. The People who campaigned against aids medicines being developed delayed the release of that drug for four years, and thousands of HIV, Aids sufferers died a lot earlier.

On the other hand, many lower organisms don't have reactions like mammals so they can't be used. Example: fruit flies don't have immune systems like we do so are not good models for cancer research. Routine animal tests are required, by law, to anaesthetise or provide painkillers for lab animals in great distress. Painkillers are not going to interfere with the normal biological processes with exception of inhibiting the nervous system. This is precisely why painkillers are allowed to be used in conjunction with medication that we use.
Otherwise, we would not be able to use morphine in hospitals.

Medications fight off symptoms and the disease itself. Painkillers control just one of the symptoms (and often completely unrelated) - they do not destroy bacteria, stop bleeding or prevent cancer cells from multiplying.
Point is, they don't interfere with test results. And it would be illegal NOT to provide them to lab animals.

Simply because a drug was tested on an animal does not mean that the test was valid, necessary, or useful. Our essential medicines and therapies are safe and effective DESPITE animal tests, not because of them.
Chemists and chemistry alone, not animals, develop therapies used to treat human disease.
Without the process of chemical process of Purification created by chemists, therapies for human disease would be non-existent--animal cell contamination renders treatments useless.

Surgery on animals with no anesthesia I don't call survival of the fittest. It would be better to call it uncaring, mean people abusing animals without anesthesia and doing tests which are not necessary since there are alternatives enough.
Survival of the fittest takes place in nature and wildlife under normal circumstances without humans disturbing it, polluting it, disbalance and abuse it.
Greater race? Millions buddhists, hindus, Natives, Celtics don't think in these terms.

Humans aren't immune either if a human is drunk and gets killed in a crash it should not procreate. Nature is not just wildlife nature can be bent by builds and human will. Animals know feelings like we do. In most cases their senses are much stronger than ours; smell, sight, the sensitivity of skin, hearing.
Its proven their nerve system is much sharper than ours.That's why I believe that animals who are abused, or situations where fellow animals are slaughtered and when they are forced to watch it, they experience it even more intense than we do.

Animaltesting in many, if not most cases, is not needed anymore. Like you said, there are many vaccins developed. It's useless to test them again. Many tests have no value cause human tissue reacts differently than animaltissue. Some tests are done from, useless, curiosity because the labs wants the funds they get.
Even if testing is needed, these intelligent animals should be treated better.
What kind of mindset does one have to do 'surgery' on an animal without painkillers?

'surgery'on animals who are conscious is utmost disgusting while it can be done with anesthesia.
There are also many alternatives instead of using living beings. The only reason for using animals is because they get funds and want to keep those funds.

If it was on me, and many others, we should use the rapers, killers, criminals so they at least do something good and pay for the evil they did.

Actually, it makes me a bit irritated when people think that animallovers don't care about other things. In fact, because animallovers speak up for those who can't defend themsleves properly they also are concerned about human righs, childabuse or women raped. China under CCP fucked up amny things in Darfur so I indeed support them. But there is so much wrong in this world that it's impossible to support all good causes. If you take some effort to see the vids on animaltesting you'll see that many, if not most, are not necessary anymore. Further, see the comment made by Valfore95. Natural world has been polluted, destroyed and subdued by mostly the western, materialistic and selfish, egocentric society. But not all societies do that, like the animists as Native Americans and Aboriginals, the Hindus and Buddhists. They lived in relative peace and harmony with their environment compared to westerners and muslims.

Tibetans depended on meat since fruit and vegetables were rare and expensive. They killed animals by holding close their nose or killing it quickly as possible. Natives did the same, they thanked the animal who was forced to give it's life, they showed respect. And they didn't consider themselves superior, that's a way of thinking which causes partly cruelty to animals. Now animals seem to have less value than our cars, our jewelry and clothes. This behavior and way of thinking must change.
