  • They Didnt Have It Anywhere In My City

So MySister Picked Me One Up In Paris

Totally Worth The Wait, I Love It! :D xoxox

  • where did you buy it from? online is sold out

  • @hmoobtejnthxais I bought it at my macys counter

  • you are really bronzed

  • i saw a video from browslasheslips and she showed that she uses the maybelline smooth mouse in one of the dark colors as an alternative for the Chanel bronze universal..you said that you were going to find a dupe for it so can you do a video if that works?? please

  • do any of these have sparkles?

  • @g123xqwert no it is matte

  • what sigma brush do you recommend for this??

  • @kirstunna I love teh F82 or F84! Both are great!

  • have you tried the liquid version of this?

  • @GoddessAthena1023 no I havent- I havent even heard about it yet! Thanks for the tip

  • @Lisasz09 Youtube will not let me post the link to this, but if you go to any department store's site, and look at Chanel's face products, you will see the "Soleil Tan de Chanel Illuminating Fluid." Just in case you are curious--when I saw this I got very excited, so I thought you might, too!

  • @GoddessAthena1023 thanks i will check it out

  • Is this the same as the Chanel Solei de tan bronzer?

  • @snoozie1305 yes it is! :o)

  • loooooved the ending 4:59 ;)

  • I totally want this

  • Hi Lisa! I ran out of my MAC matte bronzing powder and I wasn't in love with it. I am trying to choose between NARS laguna or Chanel. 30 grams chanel vs 8 nars seems worth the extra money! I went to my Chanel counter and the lady seemed confused about what I was looking for and showed me 4 shades of this "tan de soleil." No one has mentioned that it comes in different shades so I was wondering if you knew? Maybe I tried the wrong bronzer.. but I also need to try the laguna as well... and 109!

  • @TrixieV19 interesting- I have only ever seen one shade. I personbally dont use laguna in the summer because the glitter makes me look oily! I hope you like whichever you try!

  • Hi Lisa, Thanks for the review. I want to get this product, BUT.. I am using mineral, powder foundations so do you think these products will work fine together? I mean powder foundation with the cream bronzer?

  • @joka2509 Yes I use a powder then I use the Channel BU over it all the time! :o)

  • Lisa, I usually use a powder bronzer but it seems to just slide off my face during the day. I really want to try this b/c it sounds like the staying power is much better, but I hate the feeling of a sticky cream on my face...what does the finish feel like after it's on? and if it is "sticky" could i put a light dust of powder over it and still have the same color intensity?

  • @etown316 this feels like a light powder on your face- it is not sticky at all- it takes very very little to do a big area!

  • OMG you made me smile :-) It's so difficult not to um your way through a review... you seem a bit flustered which makes me enjoy your videos even more.

Thanks for keeping it real girl.

  • Do you think this will work for oily skin!? and also, can i wear it on top of my origins mutli grain foundation?

  • @Moohhnniiaa yes it will be fine! i use it over my origins all the time! :o)

  • Lisa, I have this now, and I am in love! Thanks so much for recommending it!! I'm so glad I have this for summer!!

  • Is there shimmer to it? Or is it matte? Sorry if you already said it!

  • @reznor499 it is matte!

  • Did they discontinue this? I can't find it on the website!

  • @NoRulesJustBeauty it had a name change it is now called Solie de chanel I think- I have a comparison video on it! :o)

  • Hi! I just bought the bronze universal but im not sure how to use it. Do u put it on after ur liquid foundation then set is with a powder? or on top of ur setting powder? or what?

    Thanks a bunch

    x

  • I put on liquid foundation, setting powder and then the Chanel BU! I hope this helps you!

  • OMG! I just looked and I have this product. I never really use it but i will start now.

Thank you for the info. Do you have any videos witht he Chanel Blushes

  • no I dont own any chanel blushes! Sorry! :o(

  • So far out of all the bronzers u have used,is this your fav?

  • yes and for a powder one I love NARS Laguna!

  • I have oily skin & im pretty sure you said you have a problem with oil ect.

does the bronze universal ever get like blochy looking?!?!

thanks lisa haha what the hell :p

  • I have not had an issue with it getting blotchy, but I always use a primer which I am sure helps! I love the Murad oil control lotion for a primer! :o)

  • Im going crazy- Ok the one I can find locally is the same one pixiwoo uses in her videos and she calls it the travel size. This one also has a touch of shimmer. The ones you haave I CANNOT FIND in florida : (

  • Chanel has it on their website! :o)

  • I cant find the bronze universal? was it limited edition ?

  • it is now called the Soleil Tan de chanel! :o) The changed teh name!

  • Is it also smaller now? andwith a tiny bit of shimmer ?

  • nope mine is the same size and color- I have a comparison video that shows both of them- check it out! :o)

  • Thanks for the review! I went out and bought this today after watching the pixiwoo girls use it sooo much. Glad to hear that you like it. I tried it out on my skin at the Chanel booth and it was GORGEOUS. It's such a flattering natural bronze look. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

  • It was beautiful! The soleil tan made me glow naturally because it like, peeked thru! I know this is long, but I just thought I'd share that and hope others will like it! :)

Thank you so much for your reviews!

    -Stacy

  • Hi Stacy-

That is a great tip! I have used it alone before with just a powder over it and it works great that way also! Thanks!

    Lisa

  • She put it on BEFORE my foundation! :) I was like, "whoa, I'm going to need foundation on." because I was thinking she thought I wanted to wear it alone. She said she loves to put it on underneath her foundation. She applied really lightly to give me some color and then she applied chanel's teint innocence creme foundation (which I have the mat lumiere) over it (so I ended up buying the creme foundation because I loved it so much, especially with the soleil tan).

  • So I went to my Chanel counter and had the MUA try it on me. She applied it the way you do but with a foundation brush. Really liked it. So I saved and went out and bought it!

I asked another MUA to put it on me and she did something I didn't know you could do with this! I don't know if you've heard this method but I loved the finish!

  • Thank you so much for doing this review! I had watched it a few times as well as seen other reviews and I wanted it so bad! In MAC I'm am NC30 so I was afraid it was going to be too dark for me. Listening to your second review comparing this one to the soleil tan de chanel you'd mentioned it could be used on its own for lighter complexions.

  • Lisa I love this product!! Do you actually use all of your products till the end, just on yourself Is there a St. Tropez simple mousse that washes off every night or are they all self tanners?

By the way- I love to put some makeup base on the back of my hand- I add some Armani gold liquid type of pump bronzer or I add base with some fav liquid bronzers (grey Clinique for men, in a grey tube, mix it and stipple it on the brush and apply to my face, it looks fantastic!!

  • Hi Lisa,

You should request commission from Chanel. You definately earned it - I bought one after I watched this video & I am sure I am not the only one who pruchased it.

Anyways, I found a perfect brush for this bronzer and thought of you right away.

Try the Crown's C106, UNIQUE POINTED DOME brush. It's not pointed at all and doesn't shed except for 1st wash - I don't own MAC109 so can't compare but I am able to swirl the brush in the product and buff on my face.

  • Thanks for the tip! :o) I am gla dyou love it too!

  • have you tried benefit's talk to the tan?

  • I hve not yet tried the benefit one yet!

  • I just bought this since you always rave about it. It's so huge!! Worth every penny, I love it!!

  • Hi Lisa! Thanks for doing as review on this product..I jut want to know where you got this product...because I can't find it on the neiman marcus website.....thanks in advance..! ^_^

  • It has a new name but I get mine at the counter in macy's! :o)

  • Just got the chanel universal....looking forward to using it....thanks!!! =)

  • once again you make my day with your videos, i though getting the bronze universal but i recently received a nars multiple bronzer in malaysia as a gift and i have not gone to use it yet, because im afraid of the color, but i will soon once this heat storm is over.

but n e ways, awsome review thanks. xoxo

  • If I am unsure of a product I use it on a day I am staying home to see what it looks like or before I am getting ready to wash my face! Enjoy I love the multiples!

  • where can you buy this? i've been looking on major department store websites and i cant seem to find it

  • Youa re probably having trouble because they re named it. It is now called Soleil Tan De Chanel- I get mine at Macy's! Good Luck!

  • Did you say you have skin on the dry side?? If so, How do you get the dewiness to your skin if you are using a matte bronzer??

    thx

    k

  • I have combo skin, but I tend to use MAC Cream color base for a highlighter! :o)

  • Does the chanel bronzer have shimmer, glitter, sparkle?

    your makeup looks beautiful

  • no it does not have glitter or shimmer- it is matte.

  • Hi Lisa, I love your videos. I just want to make sure I do this right. So I should first apply the bronzer after my foundation on the areas that sun would hit, then put a powder? The contour and blush? I have oily skin also, do you think this product is good for me? Also if my neck is lighter do you have any recomendations ? Thank you :)

  • That is correct. I think the key to oily skin is to make sure you use an mattifying primer like Murad mattifying cream.

  • hi lisa.. is it this product good for oily skin? my skin tend to shine during the day and i dont wanna feed it with oily products. thank you byebye:)

  • I think it is fine for oily skin- the key is always using an oil control primer like Murad mattifying cream.

  • Hi Lisa~

I bought this today, along with a 109 brush! I love it! I'm trying to protect my skin from the sun, and this is perfect for a nice summer glow.

I also bought the Mac Prep & Prime SPF 50 and I'm loving that, too. Thanks for your opinions on these products- they are spot on!

  • Lisa, did you see fafinettex3's review on the 109 dupe? I bought it specifically for the Channel Bronze Universal and guess what? It works AMAZING and so far I haven't had shedding! I'm so darn excited!!

  • I might have to buy that too!

  • Hi Lisa! i was just wondering.. i am NC35 and can get NC40 during summer,so do u think that this bronzer would show on me at all? Just to let you know, i use "Heat" from Nars which is quite dark.. Thanks a lot and keep it up :-)

  • I dont thin it would show on your skintone, but it is also great for a bronzer base- you know how the powders fade durrign the day- this helps the color stay!

  • thanks Lisa ,you are helpful :-)

  • Hey Lisa! If you condition your 109 brush after having washed it with baby shampoo, the bristles won't shed at all!

  • I have tried that and it does help some! :o) Thnkas!

  • looks great, i think i want it :) im a sucker for cream based products!

  • girl I love this stuff- I have 2 back ups just in case! I love it for a bit of color or as a base for a darker brinzer- it helps the powder ones stick better and last longer! :o)

  • is this sort of a matte shiny finish? it looks like a good bronzer, not muddy-looking at all!:)

  • that is a great description- it is matte w a sheen to it! Thanks for that description! :o) Glad you enjoyed it!

  • Hi do you think you could use the chanel as a foundation all over the face if I was darker? Then use a powder to set it? Or is it 2 darker?

    I wouldn't need a full coverage.

Love the review thanks so much!! I'm tempted to go buy it now!

  • I dont think it is to dark to use as a base- I think it is great as a base! I sometimes use it instead of foundation for a nice glow and less work! :o) Enjoy! :o)

  • Thank you for your reply :)

I will try it out as a base and let you know how I go.

  • yay! I hope you like it as a base! :o)

  • Do you have any Guerlain Powder Bronzers? Do you know how the Chanel Bronzer Universal compares to the Guerlain Bronzers? Specifically for those of us with combo to oily skin do you think the Chanel Bronze Universal will stay on vs a Guerlain powder bronzer? Fantastic review :) Always so thorough thank you very much :)

  • I did own teh powder bronzer and the spray one and I returned them both! I did not get good color or any staying power form them at all! I do think the chanel works on combo skin(that is what I have) and I set it with a translucent powder! It is great! :o)

  • Hey I just bought this and I haven't used it yet. I'm wondering if you have any other brush suggestions besides the 109 that you may have tried and liked since making this video? That would be rad cause i have alot of brushes, but not one like the 109 so I'm wondering if it is a must for this product. Thanks for doing this review! :)

  • I actually mostly use my 181 kabuki now- any kabuki would do though! Enjoy it! :o)

  • Yay! Got one today - the actual bronze universal not solei de tan and I LOVE IT! (even though they're the same...I like the white CC's better..loll....)

  • I do agree I like the white cc's better but I figure I can use my white lid when I am done with that one! :o) Enjoy it! :o)

  • I must be missing something. Every time I consider purchasing a bronzer and boy do I get tempted I never do. I look at them and think it is like putting mud or a dark contour color on my face. I am not making fun trust me, I am trying to figure out if the person using the bronzer in any form, powder, stick or cream is trying to achieve a tan look by using a bronzer versus using a self-tanner.

They look like more of a contour product versus something to give you sheen and a brz hilite look.

  • I use both self tanner and bronzer! i use them for different things!

  • Ok, I'm going to get this tomorrow! I hope I like it! Do you know their return policy? Just in case!

  • i love it! It is a HG product for me! I am not sure on their return policy- you should ask them before you purchase! :o) Enjoy! Let me know what you think!

  • Lisa, I broke down and bought it today. After the SA applied it on me, I was totally sold! I saw your recent vid showing the new Bronze Universal. I looked at the lid on my tub and the C's are white not gold. I guess I have the older version which is what I wanted since that is the one in this review.

Like I said before, you are dangerous to my wallet ;-)

  • yay! I am glad you got it and love it! :o) Enjoy!

  • Lisa, I'm so excited! I bought the 109 this afternoon. It makes all of the difference in the world with the universal bronzer. I've tried the 187, 249 & 129, a sponge and my fingers. Some worked better then others, but nothing works like the 109. I love watching all of the reviews on youtube, but I have to say your reviews of items you like are the most like my own personal likes.

I'm blabbering, but wanted to thank you!

  • yay! I am glad you love it too! :o) Thanks for wacthing!

  • Great review! I also saw pixiwwo's vids using the Chanel. Does the NARS Cap and the Chanel give the same colour? Can you describe any differences in the shades pse?

    THx

  • Teh NARS Tuomata and the chanel are the sme color- cap vert is darker than the chanel! :o) I have a review on the multiples also!

  • Thank you! : D I watched your multiple vid too which is great. Trying to think myself which to get - but think I just need to go to the counters...

  • yeah that is probably best if you have that option! Take a look at them and then decide which you like best for the $! :o) Good Luck!

  • Hi Lisa, can you use one brush for foundation, blush, countour, bronzer? could you please tell me the difference between bronzer and contour? Can the chanel one be used as both a bronzer and contour? thanks again;)

  • you can use the same brush just clean it off in between! bronzer is where the light hits your face and contor is to create lines on your face- chanel can be used as one or the other depending on your skintone! :o)

  • Have to say it . . . "you say tomato, and I say tomatta!"

  • haha! :o)

  • The Chanel Bronze Universal looks great. I think I might be able to fit in another bronzer into my collection this season!

    Thanks, Lisa. JM

  • yay! I hope you love it too! :o) Enjoy! We can always use another bronzer! :oP

  • Great review - and great hair!

  • aww thanks you are too sweet! :o)

  • NICE REVIEW...

  • aww thanks so much! :o)

  • Hi Thank you for the nice Vid and Review. I have a question does the Chanel Product leave you shinny?

  • it leaves you skin dewey- I wouldnt say shinny! :o) It is very natura llooking since it does not have a shimer to it! :o)

  • You are my favorite reviewer! Definintely going to purchase that! Thank you!

  • yay! I hope you love it too! Thanks for watching! :o)

  • would it be good on dry skin

  • I think it would be fine for dry skin and would probably be better than a powder bronzer! Enjoy!

  • that you so much for getting back to me, i love your reviews and your advice is great.

  • your welcome! i am glad you enjoy! :o)

  • Thanks for the review Lisa! I am definitely going to try the chanel bronze universelle. I am quite pale and I think it will look good on my skin.

  • yay! I think you will really like it! Enjoy! :o)

  • great review lisa, i always wanted to know how those two bronzers compared.

  • yay! I am glad this was helpful for you! :o)

  • I have the NARS multiple (after watching your review) in Malaysia and I loooove it. Seriously in L-O-V-E. lol

  • ohh I just bought malaysia today! I am so excited I used it today and it is great! :o)

  • i love it! makes my skin glow. i apply it before my foundation.

  • yeah that is a great tip! I am gla dyou love it too! :o)

  • does the chanel bronzer come in more than one color?

  • no just one color but the NARS comes in otehr colors! :o)

  • I have two questions:

1- Does the Chanel have a thick mousse texture?

2- Can I use Maybelline Dream Mousse Bronzer or dark foundation and get the same result?

    Thanks:)

  • It has a cream texture! I am sure the dream mouse would be the closest drugstore option! :o) Good luck!

  • Great review! Very helpful! Thank you :)

  • I am glad you enjoyed the review! :o) Thanks for watching!

  • Great review! I really want to try this, but because bronzers scare me (I'm ridiculously pale- way lighter than NC15- and have a perpetual fear of my face being darker than everything else) I would probably use it as a contour. Do you think this would work as a contour?

  • It would totaly work as a contour if youa re pale! I hope you like it! :o)

  • Great review it's very interesting - a cream bronzer.. I wonder if I would be abe to use that since I don't have the 109 brush.

  • I am sure you can use it with a sponge or a foundation brush or just a regular brush! :o)

  • if you have nymphette lipstick can you review it?

  • I picked this up a few weeks ago also and I'm really loving it too! I've been using it everyday. Little bit goes along way. :-)

  • I am glad you love it too! :o) Enjoy!

  • Lisa you're Awesome!!! I was just asking because the lady was being so rude and telling me am I sure it was there line I was talking bout. Any way the manager cleared up her attitude. But the even better news is I got it at Macys and it looks so good, it really evens out my skin.

I could even use it as foundation. I love it. Thanks for sharing!!

  • I am glad you got it figred it out! I am glad you tried it and you loved it! :o) Great tip too!

  • great review!

    thanks:)

  • thanks I am glad you enjoy it! :o)

  • Lisa, would you recommend this for oily skin?

  • I thin it would be fine you just have to set it with a powder! :o)

  • Is it $45 or $48 dollars. I checked my nordies, od coarse there out but she said it was $48.00?? So just wanted to make sure.

  • I think it was $48.00! Sorry!

  • Oh sounds like I need to check this out. I hope my Nordstoms is carrying it. Thank you.

  • It is a great product- it jsu re-released with the summer collection so hopefully it is easier to find now! :o)

  • nice, thanks!

  • Glad you enjoyed it! :o)

  • SOLD!

  • you go girl- and do a review too! :o)

  • hey lisa :) would you say the chanel bronze universal is okay for fair skin? i'm an nc15 and i really like the look if it :)

  • yes it definetly would be it goes on very smooth and is buildable color! :o) Enjoy!

  • does the chanel bronzer have any shimmer to it? thanks for the review and yeah you're right, it's hard to find.

  • no shimmer to it :)

  • thanks for responding to her! :o)

  • no the chanel is matt and creamy! It just re-released with the new summer collection so hopefully it will be easier to find now ! :o)

  • U are tempting me lol, I think I have an addiction to bronzers just realized i have a gazillon of them....lol....

  • oh I love my bronzers! What is your favorite? :)

  • thank you so much about this !

i am so interested in CHANEL products, but haven't gotten much yet. I haven't seen this around so I'll look around.

And regarding your other video, top favourite item..

I must admit, I like creamy products for summer too!

  • I am really just getting in to chanel too! I love creamy products especially for summer! Yay! :o) Enjoy!

  • I love the packaging for the Chanel Bronzer. It also looks like chocolate...mmmm... haha!

  • haha! I love this stuff!

  • Hey Lisa. I had to go all the way into Fairfax to find the BU. An hour or longer drive. When I got it home and opened it, mine looked crackley and old. So, I called and they allowed me to mail it back to the managers attention for a credit. They had my cc # on file with the receipt number. So, I am thinking I had an old one and should give it another shot. Truly, would you advise I spend the additional or just get the multiple? Is it that wonderful to spend much more?

  • wow! I think you did get an old one- your should get one now since they re-released it with the summer collection- they shoudl all be new! or you can try the multiple- I just like the container that the chanel is in better than the NARS! I love it and use it daily! :o)

  • Thank you Lisa :).. I am going to add this to my list !

  • yay! I got your twitter! I hope you enjoy it too! Make sure you use it with a 109! :o)

  • wow that was weird, the first two times I clicked on this video it went in someother language all the writing and your video was upside down..not its fine

  • yeah that was YT for april fools- there was a button at the top that could change it back! :o)

  • I heard good things about this product from TheCurrentCustom as well, cant wait to try it- thanks! x

  • I am glad you enjoyed the review! Enjoy it! :o)

  • I think I may need to purchase the 109. I tried the 187 (with the Chanel bronze universal) and it didn't seem to leave any product on my face. I have the 167 (small contour brush) and it seemed to leave too much product. LOL

Thank you for doing this review.

  • I love love love my 109 if I could only pick one brush that would probably be it! :o) However it does shed- yuck! I hope it works for you!

  • great review! i like your sense of humor haha. is the bronze universal really shimmery? i couldn't tell in the video, but it it is not, i think i am going to pick it up when i get the nordstrom exclusive mac quad coming out this month...
