These guys need to learn how to not get aggrevated over a judges call...play to win and that's it...all this arguing does is leave the viewer with a bad image of two good players who should show respect to one another for a great game.
i think the only reason they gave that to him is becuz he hit it first and then called it or at least thats wat it looked like to me but from wat i can c his feet moved exactly after the ball was hit. they took a mean lean though lol
@FlushingBoyNY it's not all about pain, people use it to stop calisis, and rips and tears if you saw mine you would see, I can play small ball no gloves because you whip it but big ball I need a baseball glove or it looks like a tractor trailer ran it over
@xFRAGMENTS On more than a few occasions the skin split on my palm and bled. In one game me, and another guy both had bleeding splits on our palms. Basically his blood, or something else adhering to the ball must've gotten into my system because a few months later I got warts on my hand. I never had them before, and it was right around the area where the skin on my palm split. From then on I've always used a glove on (at least) my dominant hand.
@wlmason73 yea exactly . mine splits right where the palm ends and finger starts.. my right hand always has a glove or im not playing serious and just play with cuts lol
@xFRAGMENTS IMO all (within the rules) is fair in tournament play. If he had served to his left every time, and won 21 straight points it would have only proven that his opponent needed to seriously work on his left. If you're going into a tournament like this complaining "Waaaa! He only served to my left!" then you don't belong there. You'd be stupid not to exploit an obvious weakness in your opponent. Of course, casual play is different story.
@wlmason73 i mean yea.. but if thats the only way you can win *shrug* guess you need to work on killing the ball.. because rook coulda did the same thing. he saw no challenge in this man. he put no fear in rook.. you ever played him? when shit gets hard.. he will fuck you up on serves.. only challenge for this man is Timbo.. watch timbo whoop em the other day.. if your going to go into a tournament and play.. do it right have fun and win.
@xFRAGMENTS Win or lose, in a tournament you'd be a fool not to attack your opponents off-hand. Of course you can't hit EVERY serve to the opponents off-hand or they'll simply cheat into a position to use their dominant hand, or at least get a better return.
after rookies shot, his natural movement is to the right, yet he has the time to stop and get down to his side AFTER he hits the ball and it becomes PeeWee's shot? that is crossing yet the Ref didnt make the call. Bad no call.
I don't know about you guys, but if I'm trying to swing, a freaking giant like Rookie taking a step right in front of me would definitely distract me.
Another Rookie BS game...Rookie clearly clearly did I say clearly cross Pee Wee's shot...that is a down, serve goes to Pee-Wee...BTW....Henry being the ref have any influence on the call!?!?! Hmmmm....this is why handball stay the way handball is...just another street game.
That was a really close game! PeeWee didn't seem to be up to his normal par for this one. I'm sure if he was feeling it right that day, he probably would have scrubbed Rookie.
First of all it was OBVIOUS that what he did was on purpose, second of all any time u guess which way someone is going to hit the ball and u lean in that direction and hinder their shot you are out. That is not a cross but crossing the ball is not the only thing that is avoidable. MOST of you do NOT know the rules.
rookie should be out for that. rookie moved to the left instead of the right to ensure that he wasn't boxed out, and thats where the cross was. But thats what happens when the block calls become too loose like they have been in these recent tournaments. if an opponent moves on your shot in front of you, you call that block.
you don't have to call a cross, crossing the ball isn't like a block were you have to call it. Crossing the ball is just like hitting yourself with the ball an automatic down. The ref has to make that call and he clearly didn't have the right view or doesn't know the rules.
@SHOOTTHAFAIR1 it was a block ball but no cross. This is what i think, if the ball is gonna hit you if you dont move and you move out the way its a block, but if the ball is clearly is going to pass one side of your body without you moving and you CROSSOVER to the other side BEFORE it passes then thats a cross and a down.cause the way the ball was coming was more towards his left it still was gonna hit him so he took the long way which seems like a cross but isnt, peewee shoulda called blocks :]
@Odysseu5 But rookie didn't just take the long way, he moved to his left so wouldn't get boxed out, moving into the path of the ball on peewee's shot. If rookie moved to the right, there would have been no cross but he would've been boxed out for peewee to make a shot to the left corner. Thats why rookie went to the left instead of the right, into the path of the ball during peewee's shot. At 8:56, rookie crosses that path.
@SHOOTTHAFAIR1 he was in the path of the ball regardless. so what difference would it make if he would be boxed out or not, the point is he got out the way of the ball and peewee didnt call blocks.
@Odysseu5 The ball wasnt coming directly at rookie though. If rookie stood his ground after he made the shot there would have been no need for any call. Instead, rookie wanted to get to the left of the ball so that he wouldn't be boxed out when peewee went for his shot, assuming that peewee would hit the left corner. When rookie swayed to his left, he crossed the path of the ball as it was coming to peewee, and as we all know a crossing through the path of the ball into a players shot is a down.
@SHOOTTHAFAIR1 yea i would believe this is correct. good comment. it was a really close call IMO, cuz if its a cross no call is needed but if it isnt, then Peewee screwed up the point. Who thinks it was a legitimate cross & why?
Rookie crossed the ball to take Peewee's shot away. The problem is you have spectators reffing the lines that don't know the rules. Rook was getting scared in the end. Too bad Peewee lost that way, I've seen him lose a Skybounce tourney with the same bad calling.
dang, what a bad way to end an otherwise great match. The last shot to me just looked like a major blocks on rookie's part. Why didn't they just redo the rally?
WOW OMG ROOKIE DID CROSS IT!!! wow..... thats not fair... i just lost a modicum of respect for rookie for that....then again the judges are the retarded ones... rookie is just being rookie...
Doesn't matter if it was on purpose or not. He pretty much fell in the way of the ball and peewee and since when were blocks determined only by feet movement, if im swinging my arms in your shot then its not a block?!
@handballvid well weather his feet moved or not is kind of irrelevant, the question is more or so was the ball clearly 100% to his left when he crossed it to his right, if the ball is just the majority or 90% to the left and he moves other way that doesn't qualify as a cross, i cant tell from this angle :/
that last point was without a doubt a crossed shot. rookiee should hve been down for that.there must have been a lot of money being betted for the refs to not make that call.
