  • u saw ddr less-on By DJ!

  • i didn't recognize any of the songs cause they remixed them so much!

  • I only liked Step In Time. That's about it

  • Which game is better DDR Mario Mix or DDR Disney Grooves?

  • @SiMgUrL1721 Mario Mix by several miles and a galaxy. Most of the charts in MM is harder than 90% of the list on DDRDG not to mention IMO the music is far superior and not loaded full of horrible covers.

  • @darknight068 Mario Mix's only issue is that it's perfect and marvelous window is as wide as an 18 wheeler, while DDRDG seems to use regulation size timing windows.

  • i look for a mp3 of the he mele no lilo song from disney grooves

  • wtf ice ice baby is ice ice mickey:() wait a minute did i hear step in time i used to have that video when i was like 3 (the video that had a bunch of music and it was set in disney land

  • I got this and it's awesome!

  • Awesome!

  • wow.....

  • It's a shame that the only songs they didn't change were He's a tramp and Thomas 'O Maley.

  • They needed covers more than anything else since they're the most off sync songs in the game.

  • I understand that but, at least some decent onces.

I only liked: Circle of Life, Chim Chee Ree,

Cruella DeVil, Ev'ry Wants to be a Cat and It's a small world.

  • Why not Wayne Brady's version of Tiki Room?

  • what?! this game is shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow chim-chim-cheree sounds awesome!

  • I agree with that, also it's a small world blew my mind

  • i just got this today. even though the songs are weird its still fun!

  • i got it too

  • This game = SHIT (for oldschool players at least)

PSX Disney's Rave = godly, and the stepcharts don't suck

  • I agree that they murdered the songs.. some of them don't even sound anything like the original.. like seriously..

might still get this game though.. when it's waaaay cheaper..

I'm more in it for the fun rather than challenge :3

  • i like It's a small world :D

  • Me too!

  • For some random thinking, I think this game was supposed to be out well before HP2, unless Konami got a ton of hate mail for HP2, making this apparantly sloppy game with a old game engine was a big mistake. [assuming the HP2 software wasnt restricted]

However, considering most of the Wii DDR games were targeting beginners, [like me] or casual gamers, that may some kind of valid excuse, but its sad to hear that most DDR experts see most of the wii DDR games as a disapointment.

  • There was nothing beginner about most of either Wii DDR's songlists, unless you're thinking in terms of lol 10s or should I say 15s.

  • Darknight068, Wii is basically known for beginner charts. It's an over all feeling in the DDR community. Though, A lot of people think that DDR's stepcharts in general just are for beginners. Many former DDR players went to ITG (In The Groove) though DDR sued them out and many of those players after went on to Guitar Hero and/or Pump It Up (which contain harder stepcharts like In The Groove).

  • Guess what, I'm part of this so called DDR community and IMO the only people who are going to find any of those titles piss easy are those who play those mentioned titles specifically, which is VERY FEW. Then again, most of these folks play with the bar, which effectively takes one to two foot ratings of difficulty off of every song you play so it's no wonder they'd find it easy.

For the rest of humanity, not one of these DDRs are pushover material.

  • they even have the LESSON BY DJ! COME ONNNNNN LOL!

  • There are songs they should have kept from the DDR/DS Disney Rave arcade/PSX game, but some of the newer ones are pretty good.

  • They probably didn't have the ties to Avex for those songs, even though I believe they licensed some of the FFP licensed tracks from them.

  • I haven't even played this game yet, though I have it. it doesn't look like that bad of a game, but I wish, for once, that Disney would leave the songs as they were in the movies, none of this techno crap. If there were more songs that were the same, like Thomas O' Malley and He's a Tramp, it would probably be more fun.

  • I don't have a problem with them remixing the music, it's just that in most situations it's remixed for the worse. If they actually kept the songs reasonably faithful to the originals it wouldn't be an issue at all.

However, in the case of something like Thomas O'Malley, a remix is necessary so that it doesn't feel like you're stepping to air due to phantom BPM changes. Streets of Gold on the other hand works out just fine chart wise. It just really depends on the song.

  • Holy crap, I haven't played this in two and a half weeks now... Real shame too, I really wanted to like this.

  • The male vocal in Supercali is horrible =/

  • Wait a second. Options aren't saved?! What? That's terrible!

Nice updated review. $49.99 would be a very reasonable asking price. I seriously hope I'll see that price SOMEDAY here in Canada (HP1 has not budged price-wise, neither has HP2, except once). But Best Buy dropped $10 off it two weeks ago so we'll see... It was $84.99 here. RIDICULOUS!

  • After being a Disney fan and DDR fan, I can say this was too easy for me. I actually prefer the Disney Mix for PS1, that didn't have much songs, but the difficulty was really there.

  • This whole mix is too easy. When I three starred Turkey in the Straw I was about done.

  • Lol, that is EXACTLY how I felt! I did like dancing to Turkey in the Straw...but I was REALLY let down, that from the START, that song is the most difficult in the game.

We're all in the same club man, just too disappointingly easy.

  • some of those songs are good some of them just stink... also how many players is this?

  • It's still 4 players.

  • Is there an edit mode?

  • Nope, and it REALLY could've used one too.

  • If they included one, I would've gotten the game even though I have no experience with Edit Modes (I tried the SN one once and had no idea what I was doing). I'm sure they would've made it accessible for newcomers!

  • The game should have had Aladdin & Mulan songs.

  • Lack of Little Mermaid is surprising also.

  • Yeah, I don't know what they were smoking when I saw a Little Mermaid venue, yet Under the Sea at the minimum was nowhere to be found. I mean, REALLY Konami?

  • Comment removed

  • Is it that easy?

  • Not a bad list

  • Uh huh. . . Well, it's certainly better than last year's Disney Channel pukefest but it still holds no candle to the 25 songs from Disney's Rave nine years ago. I guess I'm a sucker for SUPER EUROBEAT.

  • Thanks so much for posting this. I was really excited after falling in love with the SMALL WORLD remix, but now I see I only like 5 songs, another 4 are just "ok" and the rest I dislike. I guess I'll wait til I can buy it used from gamestop for really cheap (and I mean CHEAP).

  • Yeah, try to see if you can find it Used. I got a feeling I'll see a bunch of copies that people traded in somewhere down the line, at which point I'll get it... if the price is *reasonable*.

  • No electrical parade retrofuture mix worst mix in the history of ddr and maybe the world.

  • Hello there, Dancing Stage SuperNOVA 2.

  • European DDR games are in a league of their own.

  • Well, the only games to really suck ass compared to their US versions were Megamix and Fever (each had a MASSIVE 29 songs), Fusion (you complained about EX? Ours was half the size), and SN2 (don't get me started).

All the rest weren't that bad.

  • Fusion had much better licenses IMO. Practically every last one of those was good. Extreme US may have had more songs, but I'd trade them for the license list any day of the week.

  • they would have been better off just putting the original songs in.

  • I disagree. It depends on the song. A lot of the remixes are actually pretty good/great and there are a couple really good ones. And for the record, there are one/two songs that DO have the original recordings.

I would never have liked Chim Chim Cheree for example if it weren't for the good remix. I found the original annoying growing up.

  • thanks for posting up this vid...you just saved me $70. sigh...i was looking forward to a good release like on the ps1. Konami just doesnt release games for hardcore ddr players anymore...

  • I know. They could have tailored this to advanced players and it seems like they had that in mind because the PR suggests an "Advanced Mode" and yet, there's no word on it being discovered yet. :(

  • They never did specifically say what that was though. On the other hand, they DID specify a Training mode which is absolutely NOT there.

As I've stated beforehand, I knew I was rolling the dice when buying the game. Will I sell it? Probably won't. Even though I might not feel for it's expert charts too much, I've got little cousins and nieces that'll eat this up.

  • "Advanced Mode will challenge the physical limits of experienced players."

Although it's a little vague, it's also reasonable to conclude that this Advanced Mode would probably have different/enhanced step charts or something to a similar effect.

  • I think another big thing to consider is when and why the game was made. Disney Rave was an arcade title so it had to keep a certain level of challenge in it's design. That, and let's be honest, that game was made during the peak time of arcade DDR. Back when they had access to Dancemania still.

These days, without Dancemania they're largely having to do everything in-house or pay groups like Big Idea to do music for them. Doesn't help how some of the better Bemani artists are gone too.

  • Thanks for the full list. I bought this for my daughter's 5th birthday. Pulled it out that night and gave it a quick try before I packed it back up (her birthday is in 3 weeks). For the people saying it's too easy, you have to remember who it's geared to. I don't think my daughter or I will be beyond basic for a while, considering we have no experience with DDR outside goofing at the arcade. I'm disappointed with some of the made up songs though. "Ice Ice Mickey?" Seriously?

  • Blame Disney for Ice Ice Mickey, that song was actually around back in 98 on a CD you could get from McDonalds.

As a first introductory Wii DDR Mix for beginners I'd highly recommend it for two reasons.

    1. Good luck finding Mario Mix these days and

    2. The range of difficulty goes far enough so that anyone just starting won't feel incredibly overwhelmed. I'm not too sure about HP1, but with HP2 the Difficult charts can get difficult quite fast if you don't have the experience.

  • Now couple that with every song being more or less something you'd recognize right off the bat and you'll have something that kids will probably love. With everything considered, after some thought I think the game was a smart move even if us Experts might not get much out of it. DDR HP1 and especially HP2 are HARD games if you don't have a lot of prior experience. Personally, I'll probably keep the game around, because I do have younger nephews and cousins that this'll be perfect for.

  • That, and the charting of hand markers in this game is outstanding. (I'm tempted to say on par or better than HP2) They've gotten a LOT better with it since HP1 and you can see the progression in every game.

  • That just makes me more hopeful for HP3's HM integration. Imagine facing people online with Hand Markers. We have so much experience! XD

  • I'd laugh if it was forced hands online. LOL if it was forced hands and gimmicks. If that's the case, we'd probably be at the top of the leaderboards for songs if scoring is still done the same way.

Seriously though, HP3 better have an edit mode with Wii Connect 24 support irregardless of the chart quality. I want to play around with hand marker placement myself on some songs and send them to people. Or better yet, have an online data bank for it like GHTunes is for custom GH songs.

  • Ha ha! That would be hilarious! I'd love to see my name at the top of the Leaderboards. Would be awesome.

SD Card Update makes DLC a bit more likely.

HP3 with an edit mode I can understand would be great! I want Online & DLC to be happy. If they don't add that, at LEAST add Leaderboards and, if possible, WC24 support. I mean, c'mon... We're dying for it here! And given Konami's recent track record and when you see how much HP series has progressed so far, these improvements could be likely!

  • Come to think of it... Notice how the Dance Offs force you to use Hand Markers? That could be a clue. If anything, they COULD separate the online mode well and one of the divisions like if it were normal Free Play, they could separate it by Normal, or Battle (w/ Hand Markers), etc. I'm not entirely sure how it would work but I could see it working well.

  • @KnuxSonic8 Looking back on this, we had NO clue that HP3 was going to be the beginning of Wii DDR's transformation to having more parity with the arcades.

  • Hear that? That's the sound of your childhood BEING STABBED IN THE FACE.

  • at least this disney DDR game isn't full of craptasmic crap tunes from HSM and Hannah Montana. i've had it with those franchises, and the thought of Disney making a 4th HSM movie is just horrifying

  • I WAT THIS SO BAD

  • me no likey.

  • I feel you, they kinda threw this one away.

  • Personally, the songs were quite...iffy and stale.

I mean some of the covers were good, as for the originals, i can see that it may be hard to dance to those =/

there are only like 6 or 7 songs i REALLY like in this mix, but that's sadly it. The trailer was promising, but overall the game showed that it wouldn't give it it's best (to say the least).

  • Agreed, however I guess for me after what they did with Disney Rave long time ago I knew it's music would be difficult to top.

The biggest thing that still bugs me though is why the HP1 engine? The game looks so archaic in spots because of that.

  • Thomas O'Malley is a BITCH to PA because it uses that old old track. You don't know what you're stepping to sometimes. Same goes for He's A Tramp.

  • ...-sighs- This.. still disappoints me.. I thought they might have SOME better songs to unlock... Seems as they pretty much suck. There is probably half of a hand full of songs I would dance to.. And I'm 14.. So I still love those classics and what not.. :[ I'm not into what they have on this. I rather hunt down Disney Rave.

  • All almost same rating. Why 6 for expert. Kids can play harder than that!

  • I don't know what their deal was, it's like they believed Mario Mix was too hard and decided to chart songs even lower than that. Mario Mix could at least qualify for DDR 1st Mix AC.

  • Only a few good songs. All sound like it's all sung by 1 singer!

  • Why didn't they just use the original songs for some? I might get it but the songs sounds wie. It's a Small World is the only good song. Steps are too easy or something. I never played expert w/ hand markers. IDK. 2 pads though. I have a older sis. Should I get it?

  • My thoughts (Part 2):

    Lilo = I don't recognize it. It's okay.

I Wanna Be = I KNEW it would be rock after the Jonas Brothers...

    Rappinghood = Meh..

Supercali = This should be harder. Why'd they NOT make it a boss?

Can You Feel = Not bad I guess... unexpected.

    Roller Coaster = No comment.

MM Club Mix = Nice song.

  • Only commenting on the new ones: Dream Is a Wish = Better than expected. Pirate's Life = No comment, really. Chim Chim = Wow. Nice! Circle of Life = Not too bad... I need to hear more though. Colonel = Could care less. DJ Goof = O_o Ice Ice Mickey = Meh Its a Small World = Great, as I've stated before. Step In Time = Can't comment just yet. Ballad of DC = I know that voice! :P Carnival/Follow Leader = No comment. You Can Fly = Meh.. Spoonful of Sugar = Nice. Ducks Hood = Heh heh. Nice.
  • Wish I would have know all this BEFORE I bought it :P

  • Oh, you got it too, huh?

  • Sadly

  • So you completely regret getting it then, hm? It's interesting to see some people DID end up getting this on Day One despite some uncertainties. It's actually kinda surprising.

  • I think what a lot of people were hoping for was at the minimum DDR Disney Rave level Maniac charts with maybe a couple songs that went beyond. What sucks is that Konami didn't even seem to give us Mario Mix in most cases. Step by Step and Boo Boogie blow about every chart in this game out of the water if you're not playing with hands.

  • That's kinda sad when you think about it... I'm just glad I didn't set myself up for disappointment.

On the bright side, at least Konami got some of the remixes right. :) Some of those were completely unexpected.

  • Thanks for your video uploads and feedback on this game.

I was looking forward to this game, but with HP1's options (no speed mod's) and bare minimum modes, it's a no-buy for me.

I'm also disappointed in the song list. There could have been more Disney songs, like from Aladdin and Pocahontas.

    I like about 10 songs.

    *so disappointed* : (

  • No problem, I figured that for once I'd roll the dice on a game like this and see what comes of it. I already knew it was going to be like HP1 from just the trailer so that didn't concern me too much. What did was the fact that Mario Mix is a harder game.

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah. The trailer made it look a *little* more promising

  • A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes sounds like the girl who sang Superhero in HP2

  • Can I also request a video of You Can Fly, its sounds good.

  • I Wanna Be Like You also sounds like Big Idea

  • Wow. Just wow. Most of those songs don't even sound like the Disney 'classics.'

  • Step In Time also sounds like Danny D

  • It is.

  • cool i think im getting this :)
