  • Man, me and my friend performed this for our Higher School Certificate. It sounded epic.

  • GREAT!!!!!

  • hell not only does he have skill beyond most mortals .he has a lovely touch .hes starting to piss me of a bit .if i find out he has got a lovely singing voice me and god are going to have words when its all over .

  • he is not a rock player but he is up his own ass hole!!

  • @vinnothelizard I bet Tommy would rock the fuck out of you

  • Quite rare to see him playing an electric these days. Love this song.

  • @nswhorse I don´t know.. I saw him live three times, two times acoustic, one time with electric guitar and band.. And honestly I have to say, his performance with band and electric guitar was the best show I´ve ever been to... Breathtaking and truly amazing..

  • Tommy playin with a pick, this is a rare moment

  • @darcyfrod Actually, if you watch Tommy a lot he plays with a regular pick quite often. He doesn't just play with a thumb pick.

  • Ha....That's Kevin Murphy on drums. Kev played live on that tour with Tommy back in 91/92,can't remember the exact year it was released.....Kev did play on Classical Gas live......The Journey was all programmed drums/percussion from memory, David Hirschfelder & Tommy.

  • The drummer looks like the guy who played on the album recording ... he'd weigh 100 lbs dripping wet but man can he get some percussion going.

This is my favourite TE song and I want it played at my funeral.

  • @cheekychews You have that right, it's Kevin Murphy, and Rob Little on Bass, those guys were with Tommy since way back in the very early days and on the early albums. Very well known and respected musicians here in Australia. Peace!

  • Good 'Ol Hawkeye in the back ground there. Good man. HQ distortion ftw. :P

  • Thanks!

  • I went to the show in Chicago last night. It was so amazing and sublime, I was left speechless! The name of the song is The Journey from the album with the same name.

  • What is the name of the song?

  • @Mtarvali The song is called "The Journey" :)

  • I saw his new concert last friday, march 4th... Amazing... I'm still on a cloud high above this earth... Tommy high....

  • @YourGuitarWorkshop i was there too! 100% agreed! Too bad the the bald guitarist was way too loud in the mix tho.... Poor job by the sound engineer.

  • @Powerslider I think they had problems with the speakers, sometimes they would malfunction and you could only hear their monitors and amps. But I was in front row seat so maybe in other parts of the theatre the sound was different/better/worse...

  • I just got tickets for the show in Munich..... Yesss!!!!

  • hey please classical gas good song great tommy emaaniel

  • Hey, does anyone here know if Tommy is playing with the band for the entire tour, or just the dates over seas? (I'm in the States)

  • @isawg307live I saw the last show of Tommy with band and Phil his brother for the 50th anniversary tour a few weeks ago in a small theater at Jupiters Gold Coast, Australia , He may have a band with him but not the same band in this clip. Phil played a free gig where he lives near me so tours over for him too, It will be great regardless but it was great to finally see some of Tommy's old electric stuff live can't wait for the 55th Anniversary tour lol

  • @fretboardmaster1 That would have been an awesome show! Tommy is my favorite of the two, but technically I think Phil is better. Oh well. I got an email back from his site and the show im going to is just Tommy form what I can tell, and I'm so excited! Im a new fan, and I'll be a fan as long as he is making music.

  • I believe it was loud in there, Tommy likes it big :P

  • Love it, thanks for sharing - can't find an official clip for 'The Journey' anywhere on Youtube - anyone know where one might be located? Jodie G - jodiesjourneycom

  • @yankaussie i cant find either, but there's this videoclip in youtube with rather good quality: /watch?v=DWQFnBb9iWo

  • I have a question. What is that box with green display on the amp behind Tommy?

  • @gytaxor

    Hi there,

TE is using a TC Electronics G-Force for his delay settings

  • Can't wait for the Gold Coast concert...to see Phil and Tommy together will be amazing. Jesse; Phil's daughter will be playing too.

  • Great stuff. Maybe bring it to the Crest in February. ;-)

  • Great To see Tom, electric, bout time

  • 2:10 has the feel of dream theater... pretty cool

  • omg Im seeing him tomorrow night, can't wait! After missing his last years Australian tour, I knew I had to catch his next one! And he's playing with Phil so thats like double win!

  • Class all day

  • YAY......3 more sleeps ... then I'll be there (melbourne concert).... soooo excited!

  • AWESOME. wish there's a live album for this concert...

  • Imagine how much louder it would have been if Phil was there!

  • Tommy's Prog rock side... haha awesome!

  • @0611dean Does he have a workshop in London before concert?

  • @gfilip not sure about london, im going to the one at the robin2 in bilston.

  • Love it!!!

  • Amazing, please keep adding vids! We Canadians have no choice but to live vicariously through the upcoming Aussie and Europe band footage.

  • That Telecaster has definitely seen its years and battles

  • Be it a sold out concert hall, the opening ceremony of the Olympics, or even just a rehearsal room, it's easy to see that Tommy just loves making music. :)

  • absolutely mind-blowingly brillant.

  • Absolutely fucking brilliant. My tickets are starting to burn in anticipation.

PS Excuse the swearing, but I think that it's justified.

  • @ubernaffa It's NEVER justified not ever!
