@stormshot119 It's a music production technique, that Phil Spector used on the Let It Be album, for "a fuller sound", by doing a lot of post-production work on the songs, adding a lot of instruments. Since McCartney didn't like Spector's work, he released this album, Let It Be... Naked, in which he removed the "wall of sound".
how could spector have denied the version that the beatles wanted? what in hell was he thinking ? ten million times better and clearer. :D go georgie!
@bernlin2000 Couldn't agree more! George Harrison always had delicate vocals, and some of his vocals sound better on the Anthology albums too. Too much background noise muffled his voice.
@Mrchugchug3 John actually defended Spector's work, saying, "He was given the shittiest load of badly recorded shit with a lousy feeling to it ever, and he made something of it."
@Kegz That may be so, but i was refering to it being the beatles on the tracks alone without spectors mumbo jumbo ruining the quality of how it should have sounded ......just the 4 of them with their instrements making music the only way they could....unmatchable!
What about "Kum Back?" and the original 1 or so minute take of "I Me Mine" featured on "The Beatles Audio Anthology 3? So, just looking at the length featured here, this looks to me like the length of that horrible "joke" of one or all of those Phil Spector overdubs. Spector should have stuck to the Righteous Brothers,The Supremes,et al.
Hate to disagree with John, but I like Let It Be...Naked better then Let It Be, because these are the original songs as The Beatles intended them, and it sounds better. :P
it sounds pretty much the same except for maybe a trumpet verse added in but its good

I think Paul did justice to George's singing. The emotion in his voice is felt better in this version.

@Pommejaune78 Who did the original production? The Beatles themselves or George Martin?
I know George Martin did some work on the album, but I'm just not exactly what he produced.

Sounds fine, but I actually like the wall of sound. This one is much better quality though...Spector's version sounds very muddy.

Is the only song of Let It Be that I prefer with Spector arrangiaments!
BohemianAnt 10 months ago
@BohemianAnt Indeed, this song has something special with all those arrangments, although this version sounds way cleaner and natural.

@Kegz Yeah, but Paul had the idea from before George died and George agreed with him.
