of course ur vehicle must be 4WD if you enter to dakar if not then you would probably get stucked.

@bbxcobra it is a 2wd vehicle. To the best of my knowledge, 4wd vehicles are run under a different set of rules for Dakar as far as the engines go.

@ExhaustedGirl you are correct that it is 2wd and that 4wd vechiles run under a different set of rules. Robby's Hummer is 2wd and is allowed to run on wider tires because of that fact. If i Remember correctly 4wd vechiles must run 2 inch narrower tires than the 2wd's. @bbxcobra the rules do clearly state about the restrictors which limit hp as the restrictors are very close to what is run at LeMans on the Corvette and this is also the same engine they run in the Corvette.

this is not a stock H3, it's purpose-built. And it's 2wd to avoid the engine restrictions.

Correct it is 2wd (why he has the bigger tires as 4wd has narrower tires)and the vechicle carries restrictors which cuts the horsepower down to the 400-500 range.

because with 2wd he can go without weight restriction. He run with buggy regulation, and this car with 4wd can not use this tyres(35"). This car with this engine and 4wd must use air restriction and must be heavier then now.

this is because the americans do not know how construct cars and especially engines. They get 300 hp out of a 8 l engine. The europeans get 300 out of a 2.5 l engine.

To install 4WD is not so easy, so they can not do it.

They can do much better in 2010 if the vehicles they use have 4wd, there are way too many parts in which having only 2wd slows you down very bad

Yes and no. As the regs for the series in which it is run allow for greater tire width if you only run with 2wd over 4wd.
