  • audadvnc - yes I remember talking with Susan Wickersham about Jack's falling out of interest with the Alembic concept - she was disappointed to say the least. Thanks for the link to that intyerview - it was a good insight into Jack's preferences.

  • Oops, sorry - that's "fly guitars dot com" - a great, multi-part, in-depth interview w/Jack.

  • cool upload ... ty

  • who needs acid?

  • I wish I could get a better look at Jack's bass - it was Alembic #1

  • @kontikibar - Jack had an interview about his alembic and later basses at "flying guitars", google it for an interesting review of his Alembic experience.

  • great band

  • thanks for uploading this! found the other two you posted.....time warp!

  • THIS IS HOW TUNA LOOKS ON LSD JERRY

  • LOTS OF LSD IN THE GYM THAT NIGHT JERRY

  • Amazing show. Tuna played this night in the gym, the next day The Dillards did a 4 hour gospel rock set on the soccer field, opening for, get this, The NY Dolls! This weekend shaped the rest of my life. 15yrs old and my 1st yellow sunshine!

  • Non-reverse Firebird with P90's

  • Wow ---- this sounds good ----In their heyday -- i saw tuna many times --- but most of my memories of the shows are like this video : blurry.

  • ps: is jorma playing a firebird, cause that's what it looks like?

  • Yes, Jorma had a couple at that time

  • somebody must have academy or fillmore or beacon or capitol or portchester shows on film, so please fucking post them, too good to forget, this is an example of how good....

  • Oxo Wowowowow Mom! Yikes, this is giving me flashbacks!! Bass is so humongous, even on these 1" computer speakers it makes my fillings rattle. Video quality is appropriately wrecked, this is about how I remember them!!!

  • Greg Douglas was my guitar teacher in San Diego, the guy is freaking awesome personally and professionally.

  • Dude, Greg Douglas is my guitar teacher right now! He is so freakin' awesome!!! He taught me how to play basic guitar in less than 3 minutes. THREE MINUTES! He is like, the nicest guy in the world and he works at Dusty's Guitar Kingdom in Oceanside, Ca. Check out his website.

P.S. He has a good christmas CD for only $10.

  • My brother was with me!!!!!!

  • I also saw this show ,I was so ripped ,I went on stage and stole the

    tequila,

  • i sometimes jumping inside my pc !!

    alone watching them...

i get stone not from tequila...from those crazy players...

solo guitar takes me someday to strange street...there is wall...and when i take alook from that wall i saw the heaven!

  • What a bass player he was ( still is )

  • Awesome- saw my life flash before me. To think I can get this amazing pi3ece of my life history from you, while living all the way in the mid-east leaves me a writer, wordless!!!!!! a5rocker we were in the sames rooms with this America Rocks music.

  • "Those Were The Days"...these kids of today no nuttin' :-)

  • oi oi we arent all bad. I'm nineteen and im a massive hot tuna fan screw all this new rubbish i reckon. Can't go past the past is what i reckon

  • i remember walking out of a tuna late show at the acadamy in NY city, the sun would be coming out, unbutfucinbalevable!!!!!!

  • Wow! Where is the rest of the show? I would love to see Invitation on the site - it would probably have to be in 3 parts because of the twenty plus minute length

  • On this tape, there were 4 songs, obviously not all of the show. I put 3 of the 4 on YouTube, I did not put Walkin' Blues on because it is about 20 min long. I found this nth generation VHS tape in a store in Valley Stream. I bet someone has the original somewhere, I hope.

  • Palladium, Jersey City, East Coast Tuna in late 70s untouchable. 3 piece solid, another world, will never forget.

  • HOT FUCKIN TUNA!

  • I agree. I remember in 1977 watching Hot Tuna with Nick Buck on Keys, thinking why a keyboard player? Jorma always found these back up musicians who should live and be well, and far away from Hot Tuna!

  • Agreed, Cream & Tuna should always be power trios.

Nick Buck's other claim to fame is being on Peter Green's "End of the Game" album. A great ahead of it's time album.

  • All Jorma needed was Jacks bass and a drummer not sure if this was Bob Steeler second guitarist adds very little, Nick Buck also played on Jormas brother Peters Black Kangaroo.

  • Yes, it is Bob Steeler on drums

  • Considering the time frame figured but can be barely hear him let alone see him...still a great video!!Thanks!

  • The best by far, era of Hot Tuna. They put the rock in roll. 6-hour plus shows Those were the days. Who is the 2nd guitar player?

  • The second, and in my opinion not needed in Tuna, is Greg Douglass from SF, CA. Greg was in Terry & the Pirates and some other SF bands with John Cippolina I believe.
