  • Who the he'll makes these trailers. They suck! Man with the golden gun is just as bad! 70s trailers are so hyper.

  • Acclaimed by most of the fans as the best Bond movie.

To me is good but very boring to watch it.

  • My favourite part in the movie is when Roger Moore is making all those witty remarks in the car and then Barbara gives a line usually said by James Bond. Classic!!!

  • Last movie Elvis Presley watched. He could get a copy of Star Wars. Dang!

  • @ShinraDream I heard that was star wars he watched with Lisa Marie, the day he died?

  • @The6thSimpson Well, I actually was wondering if Elvis had seen Star Wars so I searched around and found this:

"August 12, Elvis was unable to get a copy of the film 'Star Wars' to view with his daughter Lisa Marie, so they watched the James Bond film 'The Spy Who Loved Me' instead. As they came home, Lisa was siting on Ginger Alden's lap, holding her bag of popcorn from the theater. The photo below, snapped just four days before his death is the last ever taken with his daughter Lisa Marie."

  • @ShinraDream ahh okay, shame he never saw Star Wars

but for a last movie, this a bad choice.

  • best bond movie ever

  • the best thing about this Bond movie is Jaws. seriously, Jaws is like one of the best baddies in any movie ever made. like how many baddies do u know that r 7ft tall, has steel teeth, the ablity to lift Bond with one hand, survive near death scenes and appears in 2 movies not being killed in his last appearence? Jaws u rock!!!!!

  • Biggest best Bond and Beyond.......Bullshit!

  • I have just rewatched it, nothing changes. It is a masterpiece...

  • One of the best bond movies, hands down.

  • I love this movie, but damn, was that a trailer, or a movie summary?

  • A really great one, one of the best from Moore!

Cool bad guy with evil project, cool muscle (Jaws <3), a russian she-spy, cool car, action around the world, a very disco-like feeling to it, a chase scene on skis (this is soooo Bond :D) Moore still young and handsome...

  • God Barbara Bach was so gorgeous back then. It was almost a crime at how sensuous she was.

  • Some great lines from Roger, Richard Kiel as Jaws and the delectable Barbara Bach make this a real 70s Bond favourite.

  • This trailer has ruined the entire movie.

  • @amarsbarr ha well i thought that they shouldve left the part out where the lotus goes into the water so tht pple would hve to watch it to see what happens to it. same with the ski chase in the opening. just the part where hes about to fly off the edge.

  • I watched this movie in Enschede/Holland at ALHAMBRA theatres exactly on July 7, 1977 when I was 9 years. I sneaked into the theatre and did not pay for a ticket. Absolutely but absolutely THE BEST 007 movie. My other favorite is The Man With the Golden Gun... FOREVER BOND!

  • cool preview!

  • the worst bond movie of the entire series... The Man With the Golden Gun would have been, but at least it had a John Barry Score.... Spy is horrible, stupid, outrageous plot, none of the scenes logically flow to the next, its like they forced it all together.... and Spy is almost a 1 to 1 remake of You Only Live Twice... same elements, but just more stupid... Marvin Hamlish's music score is the absolute worst of the series.

  • @JessOnTheRun Obviously you haven't seen Die Another Day. Now that's a great candidate for worst Bond movie ever, not to mention worst Bond theme song!

  • @JessOnTheRun None of these is true, in *my* humble opinion. - my, were the trailers long during these days. Telling the novel would have been an interesting short film, though.

  • Did you all notice that the new Bond movies no longer have naked women sprawled out on the Opening Titles?

Most of the Roger Moore movies had silhouetted nudes of girls swimming, running, jumping, or moving their legs in provocative poses.

ALSO the pistol being held, grasped, or pointed at women in these segments is obviously a Phallic symbol.

The Feminists would not allow the producers of the new Bond movies to do that. They consider it Sexist to look upon women as subjects of male lust.

  • @AmericanMan512 yeah it sucks. i mean the intro to the bond movie is essential to set the mood of the movie.

  • @AmericanMan512 Since I was 8 or 9 (now I'm 20) I'm really into Bond movies (seen them all many times) and not only did I notice the same, but I also notice it gave me a anti-feminist brainwash even if i'm a girl: I find it amusing when a macho male hero gets all the pretty girls, I get cynically amused at how Connery's movie were hard on female characters, I feel that a man that shows emotions is not manly (Bond never does) and I get to think a man is nothing without a gun and a great car <_<

  • @AmericanMan512 It stopped with the Pierce Brosnan movies. Feminism ruined pretty much everything. Who ever said women are sex objects? A vibrator is a sex object. I don't see them as sex objects, but sexual beings--don't understand why there's no argument against this and the brainwashing cycle keeps going.

Why not ban shirtless hunks too? Of course it has to be a double standard.

  • Hey this week is Roger Moore's 83rd Birthday and as I mentioned before on here, this was Roger Moore @ his best and Richard Kiel was GREAT as Jaws and he has praised Roger Moore and calls him a Class Act and the 2 of them are still great friends to this day

1977 gave us The Spy Who Loved Me which was Roger Moore's BEST James Bond Film and Star Wars and 1977 also saw Cheryl Ladd replaced the late Farrah Fawcett on Charlie's Angels and The Joker's Wild made its jump to syndication for 9 years

  • roger moore the best bond

  • i love the girls bond....

  • I think the slogan - it is bigger, better, bond and beyond was originally used for On Her Majesties Secret Service?

    Am I wrong?

  • haha what a ridiculous trailer for such a great film. It just totally spoiled everything, which wasn't unusual for trailers back in those days but still, this is more like a summary:P

  • @dikkevette I get the same impression!

  • The best of the Roger Moore Bonds

  • I just watched this on ITV literally minutes ago.

  • eahh.. nothing could hold a candle to moonraker! heheh

  • hoe heet die mooie vrouw ook alweer

  • thats on t.v tonight

  • Ronaldo

  • TSWLM was the first Bond film which was shown in Russia (the USSR) in 1977.

  • @DOMDED1

I thought the Bonds were totally banned in communist countries........

  • Whoa I get goosebumps just from watching this.

  • They give away most of the movie!

  • @jksonny Yeah , that's the old skool trailer for ya..........

  • Moonraker is the best James Bond film.

  • Jeez, with trailers like that, who needs to see the movie?

  • I like Moonraker. Sure its stupid as fuck, with plot holes bursting from the seams but its was a damn good time.

  • Way to give the whole movie away, tralier!

  • This is the best bond movie ever.

  • Undoubtedly the crown of of bond movies & Moore's excellent performance,Great trio bond+agent xxx+Jaws= GEM

  • polished perfect teeth nice specification big legs small potatoes fat skinny people nothing to do i do apologise this is rubbish

  • Andriea, do not forget the spy that loved you. i still feel it.

  • my nigga Roger Moore owns Sean ALL DAY! :D

  • CLASSIC!!!!!!!!

  • Seeing this trailer, I have to wonder, why in the hell James Bond insists on traveling by train? It never goes well

  • @wwemagazine LOL

  • As the end credits roll out, it says that the next Bond movie will be For Your Eyes Only. The next Bond movie that came out was actually Moonraker (1979).

It's obviously a joke, but... as Bond drives his Lotus Esprit out of the sea, he hands a fish to a person on the beach. If there was a hole large enough to allow a fish to enter the car/submarine, they would surely have drowned, or at least got very wet (although a leak did occur in the roof of the car just before it emerged from the water).

  • For Your Eyes Only was scheduled to be the next Bond film after The Spy Who Loved Me. However, because of the succes of TSWLM and Movies such as Star Wars. The Producers rushed the next Bond film Moonraker. Moonraker was TSWLM but set in space. I wonder How Roger Moore's Bond would have been Judged had he not done Moonraker wich is considered by most to be Moore's worst film. For Your Eyes Only was a solid Bond Fim.

  • # Filmmaker Stanley Kubrick, under total secrecy, helped light the supertanker scene, since cinematographer Claude Renoir's vision was failing. The supertanker set was built on the largest soundstage in the world, which cost $1 million to construct.

    # Villain Jaws (Richard Kiel) was originally intended to die at the end of THE SPY WHO LOVED , but producer Albert R. Broccoli, sensing the character's appeal, changed the ending.

    # the only Bond film in which M's real name is revealed--it's "Miles."

  • In my opinion Roger Moores best films were:

    The Spy Who Loved Me

    For Your Eyes Only

    Live And Let Die

    Octoppussy

  • "Bond, what do you think you're doing?"

"Keeping the British end up, Sir..."

    ACE.

  • sorry, sean connery... but roger moore perhaps was the 101 percent - bond .....

  • sorry but ur an idiot moore over connery like hell

  • Roger Moore's third Bond movie was his best Bond movie. 1977 was a big year for movies, we had The Spy Who Loved Me, Star Wars, and Annie Hall!

  • Action/Adventure movie. Roger Moore shines as always. Barbara Bach was great but Caroline Munro impressed me much more - she was really stunning. Curd Jürgens and Richard Kiel (Jaws) were great as well.

  • Roger Moore's first excellent Bond film.

  • and here's another fact:

The Spy Who Loved Me came out in 1977 which was the same year that 20th Century Released the original Star Wars

WOW, The Spy Who Loved Me and Star Wars would have to be THE 2 Greatest Films to ever come out of 1977 and also, that was the year that America Said Goodbye to The King Elvis Presley.

  • And, due to Star Wars beating TSWLM at the box office, the idea came about to add some Sci-Fi elements to Bond. And thus, Moonraker.

  • @tnawcwvictoria TSWLM was prolly the last movie Elvis saw :(

  • @postersandstuff It was Star Wars actually, according to his daughter they watched it together hours before he died.

  • Hey there, this was Roger Moore @ his best as 007:

The Spy Who Loved Me saw THE Greatest Chase EVER in the Esprit S1 and the Best Villain Headquarters as well as the best villains in Jaws and also, who would've thought that Barbara Bach who played Bond Girl Triple X would end up being known as Mrs. Ringo Starr?

The song even had one of THE Best Themes called Nobody Does it Better by the Great Singer-Songwriter Carly Simon and Roger stated that THIS was his BEST work as James Bond 007.

  • "Anyas on there i have to get her off"

I thiught he had already done that on the train?

  • Best Bond ever.

  • The spy who loved me is just class, from the opening scene to the awesome car chase, the cars gadgets including the polaris style surface to air missile defy words. roger moor being funny and ruthless in equal measure, and the incredibly demure and beautiful Barbara Bach. Gotta be the best bond movie.

  • yeah i love this james bond film i never get tired watching it

  • I think I have seen it about 337635009 times, and it get`s better. It is a world I want to be in :) 007`s world!

  • I loved this movie, except i thought that this trailer gave a little too much away, but i guess that it at least got people excited to see it.

  • This was a great Bond movie! Also recommend NOTORIOUS-TO CATCH A THIEF-NORTH BY NORTHWEST and CHARADE "WAIT" THOSE ARN'T BONDS! OR? are they......................

  • Gotta love that "Bond 77" theme!

  • actually this was it

  • hey people keep the comments clean here i dont want any fights starting

  • I have one thing to say about this 007-film; I was made upon "a lucky star". Think of all the elements that was perfect! And it takes more than one element to make a Bond-film! Even Stanley Kubrick helped out, with lightening the 007-stage! I remember as a kid, when Bond shows the map of the tracking of the submarine. I saw it got closer to the place I`m born, at the west coast of Norway, hehehe.. What a 007 kick!

  • godazss i take ur comments too mind this is not the best film or near to it , i have seen all films at least 5 times old are better then new here is a pros opinion, best film the man with the golden gun (also best song) for your eyes only 2 best film, view to a kill 3rd moonrake 4th , from russia with love 5th

  • Your list of best to worst Bond movies is the most retarded I have ever seen.

  • There's no point to name the best Bond-movie ever. We all like different things.

I know one thing. "Die Another Day" it the worst Bond-movie ever made. How is it possible to fuck up a movie with that cast and that plot, is beyond me.

  • I agree the man with the golden gun is my favourite too. It has the best supporting cast in it christopher lee is for my money the best bond villain, it ahs nik nak from fantasy island and it also has the legendry j.w. from live and let die.

  • Sherriff WW.Pepper is the funniest character in the series. "Gaaad damn, whatte?"

  • of all the beauties in the world .....theres two that blow my mind .....caroline munro and kate bush !

  • one of the best early bond movies...the russian agent is good in the movie the car sequence and opening sequence and song give the movie a strong tripple combination thread.moore also seems very relaxed throughout and the movie raises its game above the other bond movies in the series more like a special agent movie?jaws and the use of the pyramids work well... the producers were careful in balancing set pieces and eliminating wasteful elements keeping the action flowing and entertaining...

  • This movie cost lots because the movie set took lots of money to build. Great movie and great sea scenery.

  • it is made in maltA WOOOHOOOO

  • at the end of this movie it says "james bond will return in For your eyes only", but Moonraker is the next movie.. :)

  • Thats cuse they were going to do FYEO but then with science fiction becoming popular with Close Encounters, Star Trek, and Star Wars they decided to cash in and made 'Moonraker' instead.

  • 1:08 got owned!!!

  • I love all the Bond movies. But this one is my favorite one same with License to kill movie.

  • this is my fav bond movie as well as my fav bond but i like john glen's directing better.

i miss the sophistication and escapism that these bond movies gave, now you just see bond hurt and scraped up like the next guy.

  • I agree. although the girl (bebe) in for your eyes only was really obnoxious, and pretty much ruined the movie. the spy who loved me and from russia with love are the best in the series (in my opinion).

  • There are only two good Bond films Moore made. For Your Eyes Only and The Spy Who Loved Me.

    This is a great Bond.

  • The film critics rated The Spy Who Loved Me the best film that Roger Moore did. I haven't seen it yet, but want to...

  • Man that guy is barely enormous!

  • one of the best !! along with OHMSS, defines what good bond is about

  • goto watch all james bond movies this one is okish

  • Wow trailers back then sucked but excellent movie

  • My Fav. part was the openning chase scene and the going over the cliff scape. Special effects now are so cgi that the realism is gone. Those effects that made Star Wars, The exorcist and all other of those good movies where low thech compare to now but much better. Simbad and the eye of the tiger another classic.

  • omg i love barbara bach shes sooooo fukin hot

  • That was the original theatrical trailer? They just showed practically the whole film! Great bond though.

  • great film but the trailer shows every good bit!

  • Amarvelous film

  • I saw this movie as a kid and thought it was the coolest thing ever. The awesome underwater lair, the "slad torpedo",the sub car. Too bad action movies sorta lost that sense of showmanship.

  • Ok so 'From Russia with love' was great. And 'Live & let die' is good too. 'Goldfinger' was great too. 'For your eyes only' was a close second.

But this Bond film was the best.

    Why?

Villain. Curt Jurgens & his aqua-lair was kickass.

Girl. Can anybody out-sexy Barbara Bach? NO.

Locations. Egypt. Alps. Meditteranean sea Sardinia area. Gorgeous locations anybody with a clue would want to visit.

Action. UK & US naval forces go after misanthropic aqua-tyrant. Nuff said.

  • You have a good point there. I still think some Bond movies are better, but this is one of the best ones anyway.

  • @PhilosopherEight

Live and Let Die was full of plot holes and over-the-top humor.

TSWLM is not the best, but it is one of the best.

Villain: Blofeld and Goldfinger are way better villains

    Girl: Ursula Andress is hotter.

    Locations: Fine, I agree.

Action: The action here was a throw back to the big scale action pieces of the 60's Bonds.

The best Bond film must be one with Sean Connery, the best Bond.

  • @PhilosopherEight

Well I thought Tania Romanova and Solitaire were pretty hawt lol

  • I agree with exactly what you're saying man :D

This has always been my favourite :D

FRWL, GF, LALD and FYEO are great Bondmovies too but this one nails it 100 % :D

  • i luv curt jurgens hes hot

  • James bond+Lotus+Jaws=Classic!

  • I think the best evil hechman is Jaws

  • It's the biggest. It's the best. It's Barbara Bach's boobies.

  • YAY! BOOBIES!

  • Their all Bonds for it`s time.. their all great, - I`ll think so..

  • This is exactly like YOLT :

-villain tried to put the superpowers up against each other

    -villain in futuristic hideout

    -same director

  • It is also the same movie as "Moonraker," the next in the series:

    *Same credited screenwriter;

    *Villain in futuristic hideout in an inaccessible environment (outer space, rather than undersea);

*Villain planned to annihilate humanity and re-boot it according to his utopian concepts

  • LOL When you watch these old trailers you don't need to see the film anymore.

  • The best of 70´s

  • 1:10 always cracks me up.

  • The sound pressure was 120dbc at the front on some of the sub bass or LFE.1 lows bass was kick that was felt from the screen speakers, surrounds sounded very distant due to the loudness from the fronts! Empire has kick ass THX sound system it only needs the right print and without any faults what so ever and it will out perform 100 top home USA theatres and even few home UK cinemas, now then!

  • 50 minutes into the film or transfer the sound fell apart the centre channel died out and it was mostly heard from screen right and partly on screen left, sound effects still managed to get around the fronts. I had to leave my seat and report it to management and I lost 20 minutes because of some lazy ass projectionist no names mentioned who didn't fully supervise the rehearsal several days before it was to be screened to the public!

  • Saw a so called newer version at the Empire Leicester Square on Sunday 20th April 2008 in THX and 56KW of JBL sound power provide by dbx4080 crossovers and Crest power amplifiers. The film was shown in digital but it suffered from "edging"!

  • My favourite Bond film. They sure don't make em like this anymore. Why are movies made today so shit?!!

  • Thanks for posting this. It's great watching old trailers. They give so much away though, like Stromberg's gun under the table and the submersible Lotus.

  • I think Barbara Bach was the second-best bondgirl. The first one is Honor Blackmann as Pussy Galore in Goldfinger, 1964. They both are such beautiful girls!

  • agree! he is th best bond ever!
