I hate Hip-Hop, but I do have legitimate respect for the rappers as there is a certain charm to the lyrics if done right and their ability to string together so many words so quickly in one breath is something I could never accomplish in a million years. I hate it for other reasons(Mainly because it doesn't sound like an actual song), but coon songs are fucking racist and I'd rather listen to Hip-Hop than coon songs.

I've finally figured out what happened here: the tropers in this video has confused guilty pleasures with dark secrets. A guilty pleasure is saying you like the Short Curcuit movies or you enjoy watching old cartoons because of how cheesey and campy they are, not....whatever most of this video was.

I'm not offended by this topic. It makes sense to recoil at Fetish Fuel troper fails because even onn a dedicated page most examples aren't fit for public access discussion and seldom respect the trope's actual definition. With guilty pleasures the sperg is usually aware of what makes his fancy a mark of poor discrimination or cause for embarrassment in another circumstance. Cognizance of enjoying offal is kind of what makes it guilty.

The difference between "coon" songs and gangsta rap is that gangsta rap was designed as an outlet for urban youth to put their anger into, while coon songs are designed to demonize an entire race of human beings.

Then again, I can't expect tropers to be anything but ignorant to music that doesn't play over the opening of an anime series.

@FurryAR That's debatable. The problem with most modern gangsta rap is that it feels hollow since it doesn't have the passion that the 80s groups did. But I digress, you're probably not a fan of hip hip as a genre so I won't go out of my way to try and force you to accept my opinion.

@samuraikarasu Be fair - most of the examples on the page are innocent things like that. Stuff like "I enjoy the Pokemon anime and consider it legitimately good entertainment", "I like Star Wars Expanded Universe novels" and that sort of thing are the norm.
