I'm aware that recycling in the United States needs a lot of work. But I fail to see what insulting Youtubers or Alton Brown will do about it. Depends on where you shop. If your local grocery store keeps specialized shelves in the produce section, check near the egg roll wraps or Asian section for fresh Edamamme. If that doesn't work, check the freezer section near the microwaveable backs.

I like how Alton's freezer is always completely filled with the theme ingredient for the episode. It appeared at 5:28, and I've also seen it in other episodes.

It's because he's been so busy cooking up the theme ingredient, in preparation for the making of the show :) right? I think it adds to his character, because he always goes a little overboard with the ingredients, I think it's a good recurrence.

Agreed. There are videos of him with a beard on youtube and I think that might work OK with the hair. He had his hair flat in the Chops Ahoy episode and a few others. Maybe that would work too. Can't really beat up on a guy for loosing hair and trying something else with it.

The reason for the long hair is "Feasting on Waves." He didn't cut his hair when he was off sailing around, and these recent episodes (as well as some new Iron Chef episodes) were filmed when he got back so he still has the long hair! Not sure if he's already cut it, though... ;p
