@Ezdduf4kuZ The fact is that I would never forget Frankie....the question is will you who grew up with Frankie. Anyway he was as big a name as Bobby Vee or Bobby Darin, perhaps a much bigger name owing to all those beachy movies he was in....right! Thx4 postin'
@JennyJumpingJackx dude i <3 this song as well. Frankie was sucha hunk. so kute! i find myself listening to this song like a million times before im able to change it! its so lovely and has a catchy tune. usually always stuck in my head!
I agree with everyone who unanymously revere this whole period of music and all the accompanying cultural and social elements that went along with it.Remember ribbons in the hair, snowflakes in a can, hot pants, and of course bobbysox and blue jeans
Still a great song! It compares to the song "Butterfly Kisses". Thanks for posting this..In spite of some of Frankie Avalon's other sillier songs (or "Beach" movies!) this song has a nice tenderness to it.
Cute! I met Frankie in 1987 and he signed my 45-picture sleeve of this song. He looked at the picture and said "I was just a baby!" My friend & I were just 18, but loved this era of music. Most of the people waiting to meet him were much older... when Frankie saw us he said "Wow - chicks!" So funny!
This is another fabulous oldie that took me down memory lane. Thank you so much for uploading it - clicked "like" for 32 points and also favorited it.
@John1948Five I think it depends on what kind of women you know. All the ones I know are self-respecting, charming, polite women who are also unafraid to find a place in society on their own. I am glad that if I have a daughter one day, she will not have to rely on a man to have a good life, but can wait and find someone she really wants to be with.
Feminism taken too far is awful. But it did make some things better. At least in my opinion.
@SweetZombiJesus Yes, feminism carried too far is way too prevalent. Also, the negatives of the 50s and 60s are blown way out proportion by PC feminists. What you think about those days is wrong. In healthy families women were not "subserviant." They were loved and respected partners. Find a sitcom today where the male lead is respected. If you can find even one I'll be surprised.
@John1948Five I try not to take sitcoms as models of society. The only sitcom I have watched faithfully in recent years is Arrested Development, and in that one Michael Bluth is the most emotionally stable and the most dependable character in the entire show.
Maybe it is different from most sitcoms, as I said, I do not watch them much (they're usually quite bad).
How sweet and innocent is this one; I love it. I believe I vaguely remember this one. No matter, I am enjoying it now. Amazing how the sweet, innocent ones always touch your heart. It reminds one of exactly how they felt at that time in their life! Thank you.

That's a good question and I really don't have an answer for it. I guess the pop guys would have kept on charting. I often wonder what if Hank Williams hadn't died at 29 or what about Buddy?
In 1959 "Bobby Sox To Stockings" peaked at No. 8 and it spent a total of 13 weeks in the Top 100...
The flip side of this record reached No. 10, making it a rare two-sided Top 10 record. The B/side was titled "A Boy Without A Girl"...

Girls are better off these days.

@SweetZombiJesus You are so wrong. Girls were much better off before feminism taught them to hate men and hate their own femininity.
