  • Cute

  • iiiMM TRAPPED! TRAPPED TRAPPED TRAPPED TRAPPED...

  • Haha, aww! I love the part where he jumps around while he's "barking".. so cute.

  • Awesome! I wonder if that was a type of contact call.

  • Lyrics:

Meoww Meowww Meow Meow Meow MeowwRRRRROOOOEEEE MEOW ROE ROE ROE

  • at first it sort of sounds like he's going "HEY!" like yelling at the cat. then the cutest part is when he hops in the circle and goes "ruff ruff ro ro" like a little dog :P

  • "Aw that deer is so cute I wonder what he--"

    "BRRAWWWWRR!!"

"Hide the kids, the deer is possessed!"

  • BAMBI!!!

  • sooooo cute,Give him sooo food <3 <3 <3

  • i hear this every night it's annoying!

  • That deer must've ate a dog or something....

  • well mcbob32 i was in the woods yesterday and heard a buck and doe making this noise and i live in sc and we have nothing but whitetail.

  • Yea they bark. Heard this in the woods and had no idea what it was.

  • is it a dog, or deer? xD

  • That noise will haunt my nightmares.

  • hes just defending what he sees as his territory. The cat has probbably confused him or thrown him off witch is why he doesnt aproach it to like ... kick it... lol

  • he is brawe!

  • he just has a cold. :D

  • what the fuuu.

  • This is fukcing annoying when you try to sleep in a forest. they also run around you all night and try to find out if you want to hunt them.

  • We went camping and we heard this at 4:00am :( sounded like someone screaming

  • sorry dlandry.. but if you are a true outdoorsman you would know that not all deer sound the same, different species of deer make different noises, i have never heard a whitetail bark.. and if you have... than i feel very very....very sorry for you..

you can find me on archerytalk, HOYT_MAN_88

  • omfg im crying

  • You'd think I would have known what deer have sounded like.. after having grown up in a house right next to a forest where deer show up in our back yard every week or so.

  • That is the most terrifying sound I have ever heard in my life.

  • THIS deer is Bambi. True story. Disney's Bambi is a Maine whitetail, but in the original novel Bambi is a Roe deer.

  • how is this funny? that shit sounds scary as fuck!

  • I had a deer do this to me today. I wasn't sure how to react

  • it's 10:26pm and there's one screaming outside my garden. Sounds like someone being stangled or sliced in to pieces :S

  • thats a few pound of sausages and burgers running round the garden.

  • in velvet... ;)

  • thats just the noise all deer make to warn the others that somethings not rite. if ur a hunter u know wat im talking about

  • @92dlandry True, when you are a hunter this sound is very annoying.

  • thats hilarious i didnt know they do that

  • Oh my god XDDDDdd LOL

  • them some long legs

  • deer bark is nicer to listen to than that raspy cat lol

  • haha, the way it's acting reminds me of a cat, with it swaying its head like that and everything..

  • This is not an asian barking deer, its not a perrueqe. Its just a Roe Buck in velvet that has is been disturbed.

  • well there's nothing abnormal about that

  • Well i know there is an asian barking deer. I dont know if this one of them, I never seen one before.

  • I didn't know Roe did this until yesterday... There was a young buck out in the open about 40yds away - aware of me but not bolting. Then my golden retreiver got interested and the buck took flight making exactly the same noise as in this video. My dog was rather perturbed and came back to me looking a bit worried!

  • Sounds like a guy screaming with his neck cut open...

  • what a weirdo xd

  • Just had one barking outside my house too :P

  • Roe deer do this when they are disturbed or distressed. He is obvoiusly a bit scared of your cat LOL. Great footage.

  • Heard it once as a kid in the forest, scared the shit out of me since it is such a loud and raw sound, didn't know what it was. You dudes who think it is fun has never been in the forest

  • @horbergaren hahahahahaha, same thing happened to me! i nearly fainted with fear!!! LOL It was at night too when i heard this!!

  • Creepiest sound ever, would hate to have that in my backyard.

  • Deer: HONK.

Cat: LET ME IN THIS THING IS TRYING TO EAT ME.

  • 2 people got scared off by the deer..LOOOOOOL

  • Lovely job

  • id be fucking scared sounds like satan getting anal'd

  • That sounds just like a Kudu bark here in South Africa!

  • What a beautiful and confused animal

even if it is confused and dont know what

animal it is,it truely is beautiful!!

  • I thinks its a dog !!!

  • That is so lovely and you are so lucky to have such a wonderful creature in your garden !!

  • I NEVER heard a Deer Bark like that!!!!

  • Nice voice.

    Should be in American Idol.

  • Soo cute! :)

  • What state is that?

  • It's open season, folks :D

  • Strange that he keeps eating while barking... and of course it's to early to even shoot the bugger... clearly hes still in velvet-..

  • retarted deer at 120

  • what an amazing video. Who knew that deer made this sound? Very cool.

  • Imagine this... You are with a few friends at an old secluded spot in the forest which is said to be haunted... it is midnight and so dark around you you can barely see 4-5 meters ahead of you... Then... You hear figs cracking and something... or someone... walking around you... And then it goes in for the kill, giving you a heart attack with its bark.

  • he still has velvet over his antlers he aint old enough to hunt

  • This buck appeart to be a perruke which is a condition caused by a lack of testosterone in the body, this condition means that the buck never sheds his velvet and it continues growing until it can either cover his eyes causing blindness or more usually it becomes infected by blowfly etc....this condition is nearly always fatal and would explain why he has a full summer coat whilst still showing velvet on his antlers.

  • @leeroyjones76

    yup. a very rare condition.

The behavior or this buck can be explaned bij the perruke, the antlers start growing together and the fontanelles start opening up so the buck is more susceptible to a brain infection.

  • HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAH LOLOLOL at 1:17 - 1:22

  • tasty deer

  • OMG thats so awesome, it barks. What a beautiful deer.

  • mmm.mmm...mmmm dinnerrrr!

  • beautiful animals. Great shot

  • 1:14 - LOL!!!!!

  • aaahhh right thank you .. they must think whats that smell oh its A human. ha ha.

  • OMGWTFBBQ!!! That's a strange noise! Nice find!

  • amazing, what a brilliant moment captured on video, and the audio, "moggie not happy about the oversized mouse with a bad cough!"

  • A dog reincarnated into a deer. He still hates cats.

  • O_O They bark?!

  • I heard a doe give this bark this evening, after she, another deer and 4 fawns watched me for a few minutes at the edge of a field. Following this cry, they all dashed along the rim of the field and disappeared into the woods. Ten days earlier, 2 of the fawns had approached me at a run as I finished to some Chi Gong. After viewing me from a distance of a few feet for a 2-3 minutes, front and back, each of them grunted twice, in an inquisitive tone, and then trotted back to their mother.

  • i heard that last nigh and i was pretty scared:-)

and i am happy that these sounds make such a small deer...

  • I never knew they did that!

  • I've been hearing a similar sound outside my house at night. We don't have roe deer where I live, but I think it might be a white tailed deer. Whatever it is, it's sounds really scary in the middle of the night

  • Thanks for this very interesting video. It sounds somewhat like a fox barking. I did not realize how loud the roedeer's bark is, from such a small animal. (I'm in Canada) Not everyone realizes that there are a number of deer species with quite a loud roaring or bellowing voice - used sparingly or seasonally.

  • I just love your video, I keep playing it as it reminds me of a Roe deer I meet every day when I walk my two Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs here in South West France. I am so against the hunters who kill these lovely animals or any animal in the name of sport.

  • What time of year was that? The buck is in full smmer coat but he is still in velvet. Nice video.

  • Lol, so cute. These animals are so beautiful- and by the way, am I one of the last hunters who actually hunts because she (yes I am FEMALE, dammit) needs to? I may hunt, but I appreciate the beauty of nature.

  • He may want to lay off the cigarettes. Nasty cough he has there.

  • young one.

  • it sounds creepy. I was on a steel train bridge near the woods with my friend yesterday. It was really dark and we heard sth like that! goddamn scary :)

  • thanks..

  • thats not a bark its called a snort, deer do that when they arn't sure of somthing or to warn other deer of danger.

  • cute roe deer :>

  • Very nice!

  • thats in summer coat and still in velvit, ummmmm poruk i think.

  • "It's coming right for us!"

  • i liked when he jumped and barked at the same time.

    that was funny XD

  • Amazing! nice video.

  • he sounds like a dog with a sore throat

  • thats a HUGE buck!

and that sound is the best there is :)

  • it sounds like someone kicking their dog

  • it's gonna kill u

  • and wtf is so weard with this? they do it all the time

  • omg. that's awesome. where it starts barking and hopping, and then when it stares right at the camera and barks. XD;

  • Holy Gingaschnapps! Thats so weird!!!!

  • i had no idea that they sounded like that O.O holy crap

  • aw weard

  • lol wft!!

  • I have heard that sound before and wondered what it was. We have deers that like to hang out in our backyard. They are very friendly with our two cats who will sit next to them in the grass and will occasionally sniff noses.

  • funniest thing i heard from a deer. sounded more like someone yelling

  • cool, it sounds like a dog. xD

  • @tinzan Your dog is very sick, because that does not sound like a dog! Ha ha.

  • @pureprotea1

did I said I had a dog? No. And yes, I do so think it sounds like a dog. Especially at 01:19.

    And all dogs barks different.

  • @pureprotea1 Hey, chill! I'm joking with you.

  • I wouldn't be scared of it, I would be to busy laughing at it like I am now.

  • wow i would be scared if i heard that in my neck of the woods! are roe deer native to north america or maybe europe?

  • They are native to most of Europe. We have a lot of them here in Norway. Beautiful animals :)

  • Cute vid :)

  • do you see foxes also and where do you live when you were filming this

  • im scared of dears now lol cuz when i was shootong in blagdon , uk i only had my air rifle on me at the time i was stalking a rabbit and a dear was behind me and i didnt realize and was barking at me i shit my self lol im only 13

    .x

  • aaaaaaah its doing that because its mad i have deers around and i never hear them make that sound because they are in peace and not being bothered

  • THATS CREEPY !!!!

  • deers just somehow became a little bit badass!

  • i think i will him killer hahahaha

  • Young roe deer ??

  • lol he scared me

  • wtf?! Did not know that deers bark! :D

  • Yup and they've a (potentially fatal) front flick-kick if you get on wrong side in wrong season

  • your cat sounds like mine.

  • ...Looks like the evil one from bambi... Thats all I can think of.

  • Cocky bastard. He should be glad there are no big predators in the forest. Too bad your cat didn't attack him.

  • ktos hoduje kozla w zagrodzie lol

  • hahaha ale dupka ;D

  • O.k.

I am showing that I am obviously American.

I'd heard deer grunt and make some other sounds, but I'd never - ever - heard a sound like that before! And I hadn't seen a deer look that small or blocky before...

I had to look up Roe deer to figure out why... Ooooooh! No wonder!

  • They're lovely animals. They're great fun to hunt and taste very good.

  • lmfao!!!!

its like saying you love animals they taste very nice hahahaha

  • Children are lovely too....

    ...wait a minute.

  • acccchhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

  • Aww how cute^^ Now I know what it is that scared me so much last week at night. Haha when you've never heard a deer before and you sundenly hear such a sound in the middle of the night it's kind of creepy;p Nice to know we have such lovely guests^^

  • No matter how still ,or think how well i hide away thewy still seem to know im there ,even from 100metres off .Iknow their sense of smell is better than ours but exactly how much ? Lovely vid.

  • ur probaly facing up wind so the deer can smell you due to the wind coming in there direction from you

  • @ILUV74 If smell was like vision, you'd be stumbling in the dark and they'd be watching in HD...

Definitely a peruque head, this animal is unlikely to last another winter and would be right up at the top of any responsible culling list.

  • Your saying an animal such as this one thinks its great?!? You are doing exactly the same by posting a comment about how you want to kill it your a stupid dumb fuck thinking people want to hear about this shit you wish you could do . why cant you just hang yourself or cooperate with animals . I would love to have roe deer round my house because bricks and lifeless grassland makes me feel sick and bored you are being an ignorant twat for not appreciating the animals you share the world with.

  • haha, just because you dont like what i s ay doesnt mean anything, ur just one person who decides to bitch to me. I'll speak my mind whenever i fookin feel like it and theres nothing u can do to stop me. anyways where i am theres a ridiculous overpopulation of deer and other stupid suburban "wildlife" so dont bitch to me about that, and yes i can appreciate animals just fine expecially when grilled to a juicy crisp.

  • and one last thing praling , send me as much abuse reply's to my comment as you want but before you do think about how stupid you are posting shit like this on youtube when you yourself are pathetic.

  • Lol. no, im not gonna go hang my head and sulk in a corner just because u told me to haha. Dumbass emo. maybe ur on here becuz you have no life or any friends but im perfectly normal, thank you very much. Accordingly, im not gonna waste more of my time dealing with you so next time just blow it out ur ass.

  • just one more thing before you moan your pathetic little words

you are a scar on earth you deserve to be fryed in your own fucking urine.

goddbye and enjoy your shitty (hopefully short) life

  • Oh geez. As much as I love animals, barking deer are the most annoying and strangest things to sleep through during the night. And explanations to friends who don't live in the 'sticks are hard, as most people are shocked to even know that deer make noises at all, let alone a deep guttural bark.

  • I came across one of these chaps last night as I drove between East Grinstead and Hailsham. He came from some bushes and continued to run along the road in front of me in my headlights until he found an opening to run through. Was amazing and I'll never forget it having never seen one before. Infact there were quite a lot of them dotted along the road side eating.... Quite a sight for a townie like me.

  • Personally I prefer to shoot beautiful wild animals with a video camera.

  • I personally prefer to shoot mine with my reminton 700 .243 considering he has a perugue head which will eventually cover his eyes and he will starve to death.

  • I really shouldn't lower myself to having to respond your ill informed comments, however if you took the time to read the previous posts it will all become very clear. The end.

  • @subiaha Im so glad you could appreciate nature and not have to be so destructive! Thanks for this cute video!

  • Hi, I'm guessing you filmed this chap around March? If so, he's probably not far from shedding the velvet from his new antlers. That bark is a curious one, not quite a warning bark. He might not have come accross cats before so he's unsure what to make of it. Or, seeing as he's in your garden, he'll be able to smell you and is confused/nervous because of all the human scent when only a cat is in sight. That would explain why he bugged out. He's probably about 2-3 yrs old. Great vid.

  • thats a great vid. this is a common bark in woodland, it is usualy made when the deer is unsure if or where there is a predator. it is basicaly saying i Know you there so you can't take me by surprise. the pronking of the front feet and jumping are to demonstrare the deers strength.

  • I wish to see this guy in may or june in rut!Look like an interesting antlers!

  • I think the last 2 comments are reading too much into the fact that I added this video in December, it was actually filmed much earlier in the year, the deer that visit the garden are totally wild so I think it highly unlikely that it is a castrated male.

    Thanks for your comments.

  • is a perruque head, a castrate deer that never shed the velvet and never stop the antler's groving...

  • Nice video but strange that the Roedeer still in Velvet is with his antlers. Quite late for the time of year.

  • how can you not laugh when he jumped and barked at the same time :D? I fell of my chair ^^

  • omg i cant stop laugh when i running:D

  • Hope your young buck recovers from his trauma soon, thanks or your comments.

  • We have a young Roe Buck who was hit by a large truck early this morning, but luckily it survived, and only has mile road burn on its back side. We heard this strange sound around 8:00pm tonight, and thought it was a trapped dog. Thank you for posting this or me and my friend would be worried and terrified for the rest of the evening. We have been taking care of the buck, and we are slowly gaining his trust. He is one of the twins living on our 5 acre farm, and we hate to have animals in pain.:)

  • why is it barking at the cat? is it a mating thing? or is it territorial?
