I think it's easy to get 'hypnotized' by the vehicle itself - which is a perfectly natural thing, no doubt. It happened to me. But another perspective altogether is what we are actually seeing here, in real time.
We are witnessing engineering on the fly (no pun intended), almost in the spirit of the Wright brothers. It's very cool to watch from that point of view.
Like R.P. McMurphy said in "Cuckoo's Nest,' ". . . at least I tried!"
"Become a Sport Pilot in as little as 20 hours of flight time in a Transition®-specific course. For existing pilots, get comfortable quickly with the familiarization training included with every Transition® delivery."
Being that this was THE first test flight of the prototype craft, it's logical to assume they decided to keep it low at first to get a feel of the controls and flight characteristics. Baby steps, people! There's a lot riding on this company to produce a successful product! The world is watching with scrutinizing eyes! So it only makes sense to ease into the flight tests, instead of going headlong into them! I think it marks a paradigm shift in both aviation AND automotive transportation!
Interesting new concept of an older car/plane that was made somewhere in between the late 40s to 50s.
The original car/plane had detachable wings that would be towed on a trailer behind the car, & would fly, but the idea never caught on, much like the car/boat.
It's a "light sport aircraft" so it had easier FAA regulations to become a pilot for it. 2 passenger max and there are certain speed and weight restrictions. But other than that it's awesome
Just because someone's rich enough to buy something like this, doesn't mean he'd be smart enough not to try and take off from an open stretch of highway.
if i finish my career in aerospace engineering, i'm gonna dedicate my life to this babies.

Yeah, I really don't want a drunk driver on my roof 3:00am in the morning.

It's called an airplane, you're ripping off the wright brothers. Any plane will roll across the ground, it's called takeoff. :O :D

How will anyone drive this tough? Like on a single lane road how are the wings going to keep away from the other lane?
glaked23 2 years ago
the wings fold up, check out other images on the net

You can fold them I think.

ROBOTIC WINGS, Please! So when you are in the city you can hide then, and in the air you can move then up and down to get high/low altitude.

Imagine how cool you'd look driving a plane on a highway.
