  • He knows more then me

  • KONY 2012 Get active get helpful help the movement. Fight.

  • i love u so much :) in the non homo way of course

  • @yourteachermathhelp can u please factor this question (and please show all the steps):

    10π[(1.2)²-10π(1)²]

thank you, it will help me SOOOOO much!!!

  • He lost me at 0.18/0.26 seconds....

  • Notice how they put baby commericals on educational videos... They think all the kids in highschool and jr high are pregnant -___-

  • Did not understand WTF he was talking about.... am completely clueless.... absolutely horrible example of teaching.... NEXT!

  • my teachers name is mr.Brown hes not even brown

  • f..k my teacher

  • I'd SERIOUSLY be failing math if it were not for youtube. I now have a 91! (no thanks to my friggen math teacher at school..)

  • who needs the public school system when we have youtube!

  • thumbs up if Mrs.SIXTO sucks >.>

  • This guy helps me so much more than my algebra 2 teacher mrs. Lopez.

  • lets be honest, you were all forced to come here. I hate math.

  • he tought me something in 2 minutes what my teacher sucked at teaching all month.

  • OliviaSBee, Not everyone's as intelligent as you, why are you even watching this video when you clearly already know how to factor...

  • Wow - How bad is the American Education system?! I'm 14 and understand this completely (No, I'm not Asian. I'm British). Catch up.

Anyway, this isn't the way I would have done it, but it works.

(-)4 and (-)1 are the only factors in 4 which would add to make -5, which is were he got the (x-4) and (x-1) from. We know that anything multiplied by 0 is equal to 0, one of the brackets must equal 0.

  • @OliviaSBee How dumb are you is the real question. It makes real sense to judge the entire american education system on a few comments from a youtube video. Smart ass.

  • @Baseballbat95 For your information, I'm not just basing it of 'a few comments from a youtube video'. I actually lived in America for over a year and I found both the schools I attended to be pretty crappy compared to most others I've been to (including one in a developing country).

Also - what is with the overly-defensive comment? I'm confused at why you feel the need to argue with a teenage girl on the internet about something like this.

  • thanks, now I know what to do for my math test tomorrow.

  • where the fuck did the third line come from?? where the fuck did (x-4)(x-1) come from? no fucking idea, just skip the explanation just like every damn math teacher would -.-

  • @nerokyia after hes done factoring the original equation he gets (x^2 -5x +4). (x-4) x (x-1) is a factored version of (x^2 -5x +4). (x-4) x (x-1) = (x^2 -5x +4)

  • @nerokyia you're just a fucking idiot

  • @nerokyia Okay, here's another way to do it. As you see 3(x^2 -5x +4), find out what 2 numbers multiply to 4 and add to -5, the only numbers possible to do that are 1 and 4, however since -5x is a negative, both numbers must be a negative. From doing it like this, you can easily see how he got (x-1) and (x-4) right?

  • He looks sad. :( lool

  • what the fuck

  • Where the hell did the (x-4)(x-1) come from. That's the hardest part by far, and so of course he just skips right over explaining it...

  • @AvatarRoku1 the (x-4)(x-1) come from numbers that factor into the second line 3(x^2 -5x +4) Just always remind yourself that these numbers are the simpler version of the second line, it helps you understand it a bit more better.

  • can some one do this in fucking laymens terms i cant understand a word

  • Didn't get the 3rd line

  • @shizzyluvmusic

Do you know how to FOIL? Look it up. If you multiply the third line together, you'll get the second line, so the third line is really just a simplified (factored) version of the second.

  • @Pein0666 oh ok thanks :)

  • To confusing. Talks like a robot.

  • anyone else lost to where he got the -1 from?

  • @rhbecky Its one of the sets of factors you can make to get 4, like 4x1, 2x2. However you need a set that'll add up to -5x. You get -1x-4 because if you add -1+-4, you'll get -5! (the -5x) Hope this helps :)sorry if its confusing

  • My teacher has been teaching this for a few weeks and I didn't understand shit, then i watched this, now i know. I fucking love Youtube!

  • i like the lady better, she actually used different examples.... >.>

  • ...also a good intro to the "Zero Product Property" (e.g., the "3=0" expression, illustrating the futility of an arbitrary constant multiplied by the expressions containing "x". In other words, that poor "3" could just as well have been a "9" or a "211" or 66 2/3" or anything at all...

  • wow wow wow wait a min where did u get (x-4) (x-1)

  • @deathklok29 because 1x4 is 4, for that last number 4 and you have 1 + 4 equals 5, the middle number, you cant use 2x2 because 2 + 2 =4, it has to equal the middle number (5) does that make sense? lol

  • O___________O

  • o.O

  • Please be my Algebra teacher.

  • Youtube is my math teacher.....

  • @lalalalagoodbye me too ^^

  • 1:39 "haha i lied bitch!"

  • My teacher is not so good on clarity for me. He tries though

  • Thanks!!

  • it's not the teacher i hate its the math... sorry mr.paul for throwing the math book at you :x

  • Actually it would be 1,4 because the smallest number comes first.

  • At least he's not boring as shit and doesn't make me want to shoot myself in the fucking face....

  • NOOOOOO I WANTED THE ALGEBRA 2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • why u going to fast i came here in youtube but it=s the same just like my teach u go to fast man.

  • Hmmm where did da one come from

  • He's going to fast D:

  • why is it equal to zero?

  • I love this guy! My techer is a asshole.

  • At least this guy explains what he is doing and gives information why. My teacher justs piles worksheets on my desk and says "Do It."

  • @WTCorn your teacher is sponsored by Nike

  • @WTCorn Is your Teacher's name Nike? "Just Do It"

    lol:)

  • what if im a homosexual and not capable of learning math?

  • @hakababookie LMAO

  • you dont need to do that, just divide everything by 3 and solve it easy with X being 1

  • the fuck? He skipped a whole step! How did he go straight to 3(x^2-5x+4)=0 FUCK!

  • @heyyyitsLexi find the greatest common factor which is 3 and basically devide everything by 3

  • Thanks bro for the math review! Better than my Alg 2 teacher... Easy, straight to the point. Once again, thank you and your a life saver.

  • Is it a requirement that all math teacher have these boring ass voices??? You didn't really help me. :(

  • dude, that was so simple :D!!! Damn, what's wrong with my fucking retarded teacher?????? o.o Thanks bro!

  • i love this guy (no homo)

  • all i needed was up to 0:50 s thanks

  • Thumbs up if u watch this when ur finals is near.

  • @isaac5909 I would if the example being used wasn't easy as shit

  • Why do only math teachers always sound boring and depressed? :/ lol i always zone out when ever i see numbers is something wrong with me? :P

  • i had a commercial on a math video. lol

  • he doesn't even explain shit!.

  • Thank you. I'm studying for the GMAT and having to review Algebra. This made the math section significantly easier!

  • WHAT A BORING BORING TEACHER

    REALLY 4KING BORING

  • think this is hard try takinG CALCULUS ITS GOT GREEK SIGNS IN IT

  • i love how we are forced to learn this but yet we will never use it in real life.....

  • @MrFamegrunt Seriously! the only time we are going to use this stuff is in THAT class >_>.

  • the top comments are from smart asses smh...

  • Okay so...this is a really easy problem but I hate how he doesn't explain what he does. I'm trying to find a good video to help me teach this stuff to my sister, but he doesn't explain any of the steps of factoring. He just does it and expects you to follow along! Grrr...

  • He lost me at "in this problem"

  • this is CONFUSING!

  • I began to say "WHAT?" after his first sentence.

    Curse you, dyscalculia.

  • @SnapdragonYellow You know you're bad at math when you don't even have dyscalculia and youre saying what? after the first sentence .....

  • Comment removed

  • @MrFamegrunt Cool story, bro.

  • @MrFamegrunt no your just a normal human being who really doesn't give a f*** about algebra :P

  • screw what he wears or how he talks.

    It's always about the learning.

  • Marry me

  • so are you teaching college students or what!?

  • will you be my new math teacher?

  • this is what i have to resort to since i didn't do my summer math work at the beginning of the summer while it was still fresh in my mind

  • can you explain this further? i dont get it. especially with ur boring voice. it makes me sleepy. >.>

  • I want a math teacher on youtube that swears alot and is a gangsta. That would help me remember.

  • After graduating from high school and giving up his adolescent hijinks, Ferris Bueller began a rewarding career as an online math teacher.

  • FUCK YOU ALGEBRA! I FUCKING HATE YOU TO HELL!

  • @meisdumnet we really aren't gonna use it in life...

  • @meisdumnet ? lol screw math in general -,-

  • @meisdumnet FUCKING AGREED

  • @meisdumnet AMEN. When are we going to use this in life?!?!?!!?

  • 'Notice how' no one give a shet

  • "notice that 3=0 is a false statement"

no shit dumbass.. i hate how teachers do that

  • i was watching TV in the reflection of my laptop screen :)

  • thought polynomial is with the power of 3 above ie x3 rather than x2

    x2 is quadratic isnt it?

  • I've learned 50 math english terms in less than 30 minutes.

  • what happened to the 5?!?!?! HELP!!!!

  • @SubliminalGenocide18 i assume its 3x5=15 and 3x4=12

  • @SubliminalGenocide18 The 5 was factored by the -4 and the -1 meaning, -4 + (-1)= -5.. he got -4 and -1 because you have to find 2 numbers that you can multiply to get one number ie -4 x -1 = 4 and those same two numbers have to add up to the other number ie -4 + -1=-5.. Its the way my professor taught me and its a little easier to remember.. so in conclusion the -4 and -1 has to add up to one of the numbers, -5, and also be multiplied together to get the other number 4..

  • 3=0 is a false statement. NO SHIT.

  • I meant "equation", not "expression".

  • This is like the 'Factoring Completely' video with the solving of the expression added to the lesson.

  • you idiots will be cleaning his pool someday

  • Thank you your teacher.com. This video is very educational and has cleared my mind about polynomials! You know in computer class we made a project with scratch where i demonstrated how to multiply and divide polynomials. AND YOU KNOW WHAT? I had made a mistake. So I decided to go on YouTube and watch some videos on how to multiply binomials and trinomials. I love the method the teacher uses very clear and precise. In math class we also use the foil method for multiplying. Foil= first out in las

  • He's actually very cute, and would be hot if he dressed better.

  • This guy needs to stop wearing shirts a size too big.

  • He's cute. I like him! He looks like a mormon though.

  • im waiting for him to mess up

  • fukc this, this guy gets paid as much as a garbage man

  • Man I like how he said it was "tempting" at the beginning. I always find math SO tempting…

  • Seriously someone needs to come up with a way to make school more...FUN

  • What if if doesn't factor?!? HELP!!

  • this needed to got in detail, usuallyu these videos are perfect examples for everyone. This video was only for the advanced. It would be nice if there were more videos made on factoring polynomials in detail and step by step. Thanks for sharing ;D

  • dont we have to check the answer

  • I STILL DON'T GET IT!!! math sucks ):

  • He has that boring math teacher voice

  • @ShowTime1904 and you have a boring intelligence level.

  • @crangdaniel cool story bro

  • @ShowTime1904 he has that boring math teacher swag

  • life saver <3

  • this is great but what about factoring with larger numbers? what do you do with something like 6n^2 + 18 -24=0 I just don't understand the process in what you put in the brackets : 6(n-?)(n+?) = 0 do you use FOIL or what? I hate math

  • @MandolinforJesus yeah you basically have it.

    Factor 6 out, then you have 6(n^2 + 3n - 4), you can factor that to 6(n+4)(n-1)

  • love you

  • Thank you, I have Algebra 1 honors and when the teacher talks i get lost

    this helps

  • ive noticed that the only time people look up math videos, is if they have a test the next day

  • Really helpful, thanks!

  • How do you know how to make (x-4)(x-1) ???

  • @9578755 you have to factor 4 which will equal to your middle term which is -5, that case factoring 4 will be 4X1=4... Then again, how do you know how they got (x-4)(x-1)? to get -5x in the middle, you have to add -4+-1=-5

  • @k1ssj0y16 forgot to put negatives on 4X1..... multiplying two negatives will equal to a positive.....

  • KHAN ACADEMY GUYS WAY BETTER THAN THIS GET THE WORD OUT!

  • @Ichvyenichalster

Thank you - I like it!

  • Quick question. If you cannot pull out a GCF, what do you do after? 4x^2-7x-15=0 is the question.

  • why do teachers always wear weird ass ties?

  • @NolansNoise15 for real huh?

  • 48 people are math teachers :P

  • @cooliestguy45 A lot more than that buddy hahaha

  • btw i thought u were suppose to factor it, not solving it...

  • I recommend this excellent Math channel: ( Mathmatchpoint ) to everyone who wants to become good at Math. He is going to teach you Math the EASY WAY, from the basic to the advanced topics. The great thing is that his videos are categorized within playlists. It is easy to know which video to watch next. This was the least I could do for him (let others know about his videos). Thanks to him, I got 97% on my Math test.

    Go to his channel: Mathmatchpoint

Math will become easy to understand and do

  • Math is a hassle to learn, but once you get it, it's fun :)

  • oh algebra how you've ruined my life

  • What's the difference between solving a polynomial and factoring it?

  • When someone attractive asks you how to do this type of question, use your math skills to impress them! That's one way to apply it in real life! Plus, when you're helping someone else learn, you are testing your knowledge and helping yourself study as you recall the method that you used to get to the solution. Math isn't so much about how we can apply it to real life situations, it's about the method(s) that we used to get to that solution. By understanding math we become better problem solvers.

  • Thank you so so so so so much.

  • The best and most straight forward explanation of factoring i have seen.
