The original was released on the A side of the LP albumn "Pharoah Sanders, Jewels of Thought," released by Impulse records, recorded in New York City, October 1969. "Sun in Aquarius" was on the B side.
So smooth and so much funky grooved on love in this choon, saw them back in 1992 @ Brixton Academy - The Drummer had just become a dad and it was one of the most loved up chilled out funky concerts I have ever been too
Lovely!I was lucky enough to meet and spend the day with them at Montreals jazz festival back in 93'.i was a londoner a long way from home!Constantine was nursing a broken foot so we hung out eating some good food and then they let me stand side-stage while they did an awesome set. They were even graciuos enough to take me to a party afterwards.Lovely people.
remember seeing galliano, aged 17, at glastonbury back in 92/93 - or sometime around then. there was a storm brewing, not only in the sky, but on stage as well. they were fabulous. get your earth boots on...
Wow--that really brings back memories. Early 90's was such a great time for UK music. The Heavies, Jamiroquai(at his best) Young Disciples, D'Influence--such good times.
Blimey, can't believe this was almost 16 years ago. Wow, what a great period this was...Young Disciples, Brand New Heavies, James Taylor Quartet, Incognito, Corduroy, Paul Weller, Omar, Barrie K Sharpe & Diana Brown, Raw Stylus etc. I'd say "In Pursuit of the 13th Note" is one of the best UK long players of the 90s.
I heard this song for the first time in New Orleans in '92. Chillin with my brother after a 4 year tour in Berlin (US Army) I was big into acid jazz. Giant Steps V2 stayed in my CD player for about 15 years.
I lost this cd on the move back from hawaii i brought it in england 1992 so when i found it on youtube all the memories came back........ cheers galliano
Finally I´m glad to see this part of my youth! Thanx for the vid and greets from Germany....please give me more from this wonderful Galliano! I saw them in Hannover in 1997 and it was one of the best act I ever could be a part from....
