look into and hear john's solo music enough and you can see he is on a different wavelength now than he was at the time of this interview which i guess would be around 99-00 due to the lisp he has from his new false teeth. he would not have written the empyrean around that time because he was a different human being then
@Computerdisplay I think he has ascended to a musical plane of existence that the Red Hot Chili Peppers could neer reach, I do miss him in RHCP but his solo career touches people to the deepest intriquicies of their soul. A trait I believe the RHCP don't have.
@MartyFriedmanRulez66 lol don't give me all this "deepest intriquicies of their soul" crap. John is one of the most amazing musicians of his generation, and probably the best and most incredible guitarist/performer in the history of modern rock, but the Red Hot Chili Peppers WITH John Frusciante, cannot be compared, not even with Frusciante himself.
@Computerdisplay Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but people such as myself use music as a way to reach the deepest intriquicies of our soul, music is beautiful and brings out emotions that we didn't even know we could feel any more, your post is based on the assumption that everyone in the world shares the same opinion as you, that being the only way your statement would ever hae power
@MartyFriedmanRulez66 Everyone who listens to music does it with that purpose. Even the ones who listen to artistically decadent crap at the club listen to music for that. Don't think you are part of a select group of human beings capable of doing so. My post is based on, as you might have meant, my opinion that the Red Hot Chili Peppers (with John) have much more emotionally powerful music than John has ever written on his own. I don't agree with you, and I think he should go back to RHCP.
@MartyFriedmanRulez66 not that I'm not a fan of John's solo work. But songs like Hey, Slow Cheetah, Porcelain, Otherside and Don't Forget Me (just to mention a few) are much more emotionally powerful than anything he published as a solo musician. They were born to play together.
hes just following where ever the music takes him and right now thats to work on his solo albums. Its sad hes gone but Josh Klinghoffer will bring a new sound to the RHCP.
@iDaZeGB na he wont. our idols are old. josh is young. he didnt party with them and he didnt be super funky with them so i see no chemistry. its gonna be dave navarro but shitty
No, this was in 2001-02, and it's now 2010. It would be "messing with fate," as you say, if he were to stick with the Chili Peppers, knowing it's not the best choice. If you've heard his music, and then listen to the Chilis, you'd realize how much he is changing, from Californication to Stadium Arcadium, the Chilis got more tense, but John's solo work kept getting better.
