Your Pangea map does not show what is happening in the Pacific, and shows it shrinking rather than expanding. The sea floor age maps show that the Pacific really expanded, so this map is NONSENSE.
Also, "life wasn't possible on land because" of the lack of an ozone layer (had to wait for oxygen). Also, life simply hadn't developed the abilities as yet.
More than 6 extinction events; we just haven't found them all - consider smowball earths. Emphasizing extinctions may be overkill; it may be more general, gradual.
Not all dinosaur species died in Cretaceous. Birds...
Quite a lot faster than a bullet.
Chicxulub estimated at 70 million x Tsar Bomba, 200 billion x Fat Man.
Ice age has been ongoing for 3 million years, since Pleistocene. We're in an interglacial (not postglacial) which, unperturbed by man may have lasted for about 50,000 more years. Presumed dig a AGW not correct.
@randyrhoads4737 It does and doesn't. Warming, cooling, more oxygen, less oxygen, more ice, less ice. It's all in a constant state of change, and always will be. With or without humans.
I know there are some misspellings in the image texts. All images are from the Celestia space simulator, not mine ;)
In 2:35 you can see a red impact mark in the map, I know the best known massive extintion was in the Cretaceous. But it was in the most final stage of the period entering in the Paleocene ;)
These are more like epochs and not periods.
