I believe that's just a simulation or mechanism that shows us what scientists believe on how this prehistoric being once looked and moved. ~Also, if that shark is said to live over 600 meters under the sea, than it wouldn't be very likely, if not impossible, that you would see it that close to the shore.

This poor beast clearly has a form of neurologic disturbance and at least some paralysis as the swimmingg motion indicates. There may be parasites present as well, as the gill distention shows impaired oxygen exchange. It is not surprising the beast died shortly afterward. A post-mortem would have been revealing.
