This is very true there are many officers who think they can get away with alot and they are allowed and enabled by the police department they work for. People should look into local PD's in their area. Like Bingham & Bannock County Idaho. It's always brushed under the rug like nothing ever happened.

It does matter when the abuser belongs to a large and powerful, legally nearly-immune, brotherhood. It's a whole different world than fearing one person.

Similiar exp happened to me in Lawrence, Ks. Policeman boyfriend beat & strangled me for 1.5 hrs, I nearly died. Cldn't defend myself at all. He was never arrested & didn't spend 1 sec in jail. Police never went to get him. His superiors went to check on him at his home after what he did & did nothing. The DA convicted him but only probation. I'm afraid to call or trust any of them now.

It is true police men and firefighters do stand by each other.Alot of them beat on their wives and these women dont get help from their local police department.Domestic violence is a very serious thing and it wont stop any time soon and that is very sad.

I wouldn't say "police men and firefighters" beath their wives... MEN beat their wives. Domestic violence is BAD and should not be tolerated, it shouldn't matter what career they have

exactly MEN beat their wives not just fire fighters or cops...plp stereyotype to much..... i cant say it does nt happen but all i can say is dont chalk it up to every firefighter doing it.... i would never harm anyone( im here to serve and protect) if you dont like that then comment me back or send me a message..
