  • Mr. Eschete is so rad.. his turnarounds are the best....

  • Ron kills it. Always.

  • Good grief! Ron is cuttin' a fat hog on this one- one of the best, most intelligent guitar versions I've ever heard of this tune, and the drummer knows samba choro and bahia rhythms- not common even nowadays... bass guy is ultra cool. Bless you for posting!!!

  • Pure class, Ron is right up there with Joe Pass in my list of six stringers who have had an absolutely inspirational effect on my musical life, THANK YOU RON!!

  • who was playing bass when the bass was soloing?

  • Eschete is playing bass on the 7-string guitar during the bass solo. If you look closely you can see him useing his thumb to play the bass line while grabbing chords with his fingers. i saw him do this live back in the 80's.

  • @babinm Ron plays bass lines on his 7-string guitar while Todd (the bassist) has his solos. Todd does the same, he plays chords and a bass line while Ron solos.

  • why do I have difficulty thinking you are the guitarist recording with Gene Harris but you don't sound like him here/

  • Ron was indeed the guitarist in the Gene Harris quarter.

  • Hey John,

You got that right. Ronne is truly one of the greats. I stole a lot of stuff from him.

    P.S.

    You're not so bad yourself.

  • This is one of the all-time greats in guitar and music in general. It's a pleasure to able to say something about this legend. I use to listen to him around the Orange County area when I was a kid. What an inspiration. Thank you for the many years of excellent music. Pure taste........John Heussenstamm
