Why does everyone seem to think bad music is gone?
Of course music will be bad if where you're looking is in what the mainstream offers. There is still great music out there. It's in the "indie" bands of the underground.
Start with Washed Out, Neon Indian, and Toro Y Moi.
i was enjoying the song then i started reading the comments and realized this must be where all the old farts come to complain. get over yourselves. it's just a song.
@skinnyernie then enjoy the song and ignore the comments. but to defend, give them credit, most are nostalgic and grew up in this era, young and old and it was a very unique time and believe music has decline creatively since then. it's true because artist from today can't seem to find any of their own style, and like Katy Perry and Gaga take from this era but don't quite grasp what made it great that it was new and unique.
@Kenanee I don't buy it. Every generation has it's bad music. Today is no different than the 90s 80s 70s or 60s.... The attitude that "my generation had substance and yours doesn't" is egotistical and ignorant. There is lots of good music being made today. But trust me, kids don't care if older generations don't like their music.
@skinnyernie of course they care, you and others prove that by spouting venom on an 80's vids. Though, I 've only experienced half of the 80's and up, the music has declined to materialistic and wannabe art. We live in this generation too, it not exclusive to one generation. Still, you have to have lived through it to know, and you don't. no offense
@Kenanee trust me they don't. just like you didn't care about people that criticized your generations music. they are doing their own thing and of course it draws from influence from the past but they actually prefer that you not like their music because it's THEIRS.
@skinnyernie one, you know nothing about me, I like music from every genre, every decade from world, classical to death metal. However, people didn't diss my generation's music before, except now, living in this generation well within the age, this is also my gen's music lol. It's not influence it's an imitation, one thing to be inspired and make it your own, another to take, even Madonna is mocking it. & yes, the "youngest" of this generation do get easily offended, you're showing that now.
@Kenanee Hardly, you are entrenched in believing your generations music is better so it doesn't matter what I say. You are closed off. Saying today's music is an imitation is bogus. And that's all I need to know about you. Frustrated and egotistical. That's you.
@skinnyernie I think you misconstrued that whole post, it would be wise to read carefully. Oh, and it is an imitation, biggest and brightest example Katy Perry, and you would know if you were more versatile and worldly in music, no need to get so emotional and combative about it. Again, you know nothing of me and assume based on impulse instead of rationally and fully comprehending the post.
@Kenanee someone marked your post as spam. haha. and no, it was not me. and there is another one that was removed. i guess people don't like your point of view.
@skinnyernie wait, wait, you idiot, I removed it! Only I can remove my own post moron. Just like I removed this last one because of a typo. Or, the owner of this vid, can remove it, but you wouldn't see anything left of the post, damn you're novice. It if was spam, it would say spam, not removed. Damn, you're stupid. Don't waste my time no more.
@Kenanee if you had said, the record companies have created a lot of pop bands that don't have much substance, then I would agree with you. But to say this generation has nothing is complete bullshit.
@skinnyernie no it's an opinion, and you're gonna have to deal with it instead of getting so offended about and take it all out of context because that's exactly what I said. What you think I meant about good music being under the radar? A general platform, which is known as pop. As I said if you're not bothered you would ignore negative comments and enjoy the music, I do. But you prefer arguing to have a point, you don't, because general conception of today's music with no substance is pop.
@skinnyernie I can tell you, my parents, grand and great also say there is nothing like the 80's 4 generations praise the era. Truth, not trying to sell you on fact when 90% of the music produced today comes from the 80's pop,, hiphop, techno and electronic. Today's general music is brainless, rather repetitive, and the talent is rare. There's still good music being produced however, only it's scarce, on just on youtube, but it's under the radar music.
@InfiniteWhizBang@1): just a gimmick in this German show; every performing guest left his foot(shoe)print in a cake.
@2) the hot redhead is German singer Katja Ebstein, very popular those days. At the eurovision Song Contest she came 3rd in 1970, 3rd in 1971 and 2nd in 1980 what makes her the most successful performer to have taken part in the contest, without ever winning.
@calebthegreat08 Who says? I prefer music from the '60s and '70s to other decades. I think the '80s produced a lot of good and a lot of bad music. The '90s generally sucked with flashes of brilliance, and the last 10 years have been some of the worst ever with even fewer flashes of brilliance. "My generation" would be music from the '80s and '90s. No bias here. Not everyone is limited to generational culture bias.
@sbohandley I find myself asking the very same seemingly unanswerable question ... what I do have an answer for is this: I know that era was magic and even though I hated it back then, and wished I would have been from the 60s or 70s, I now know that the 80s marked the ending of something special America had, that sadly, it may never see again. In short, I am so proud I was there, peace.
Commitment: When the singers of a band, regardless of gender, wear matching make-up. Don't get me wrong, I think they look great. And I love this song. <3
British Pop Masterpiece: Fantastic British Music the music used in many other versions and applications, sorry USA you only followed the UK pop scene of the 1980’s copying our fantastic Music and Videos too! Great Group! Like ABC, Dépêche Mode, Spandau Ballet, UB40 Tears for Fears.
@musashi7272 Trance? Dare I even ask what that is? Sounds like a zombie thing. Isn't rap/hiphop called something else now, some other cover for it's lack of any talent or interest?
@MurrowSon someday some kid will make fun of the style of your day, too. I'm not being hostile whatsoever because I happen to agree this is cheesy now but back then it was a new style so it was just cooler then. It made parents say WTF are kids doing so it was cool that way, too. I also agree that a lot of 80's music didn't age very well but we'll see how Rhianna is doing in 2030 lol peace bro.
@shiprek2011 That's already been and being done, and I have no problem with it, it's part of the natural order of things. BTW, I love the song, just the early-MTV days were full of weird looks and LOUSY videos. It's not a slam on anyone.
Hello Youtube! I'm sure you get this a lot, but I'm a 16 year old male singer-songwriter with a mission. I want to be a professional singer and only you can help me achieve that goal.
