@rhsbears54 try adding it into the library , and it will automatically appear under the ringtones section of itunes . from there on , you can sync it to your iphone .

I will never get another iphone. I used to be able to simply press record and record any audio and then there would be an option for set as ringtone. this was with my SHITTY phone from 5 years ago. For iphone you have to go through all this itunes crap and file transfer syncing bullshit. It's pure bullshit. If you wanna get a ringtone you should be able to just press record on your phone and then have an option to set it as your ringtone. It doesn't need to be any more complicated.

Just find the song in the iTunes library.. right click it-> view info-> and change the length to (max) 40 seconds. (0-40 or 15-55 etc)-> then right click-> make AAC version-> drag the AAC file to your desktop-> change the file extension from m4a to m4r. (If you're unable to change the file type by changing it's name, see 2:06 in this video: /watch?v=ATux0htpj6U

and then just drag it from your desktop and into your iPhone section (in iTunes)
