@bebekfilip14 You can't put backspin on the ball with any bat as long as it has some kind of rubber on it. And his bat looks like it has a good rubber on it.

No. My guess is that there was a pine needle or a little bit of something on the table that, combined with the backspin I put on it, cushioned the ball just right so that it didn't bounce. It was a regular, tournament-quality ball though.

Yeah, I think that is the answer. I think that because this happened to me 2 times in my whole life, and I was training table tennis a lot. Both times it happened, I was playing outside on open so it is possible there was something on table which stopped the ball from bouncing :D
