22R and 22RE is what you call (K.I.S.) "Keep it simple" that's why they last longer then most American engines.may be a old school 350 my last as long 200k. good By 20MPG hello to 8MPG lol
i like how you put it as low as possible... are you runnin a body lift? i bought swap motor mounts for mine and i had to do a 3'' body to clear the air cleaner.... looks good
felicidades ya vi tu videos videos, te quedo muy buena la toyota, yo tengo una 84 y quiero saber si le pongo un 302 tengo que cambiar tambien la caja de velocidades o le dejo la misma? saludos desde mx
What did you have to do to the truck to make that engine fit? Did you trim the firewall at all? I'm guessing you welded those motor mounts in place too.
i dunno about over in the states, but here in australia we have a company that makes the complete conversion kits u need to bolt these motors in, include engine mounts that adapt to the original hilux mounts, bellhousing etc... and no u dont need to chop into the firewall to make any of the v8's fit, u just need to trim out some of the radiator support if u wanna run a decent radiator.
A company called Downey offroad is where I got my motor mounts. They make it so they will bolt on no cutting. They also have other stuff that makes it really easy to do. SAS and a plate that allows you to be able to move the transfer case after you have it up. so you dont have to take it down every time

@onebigchevy16 It does have a 3" body lift on it, and a custom 5" lift. And everything clears really good.

Pretty simple, just a 2" body lift to get the engine in and back as far as possable, set the mounts and there ya go...

Putting an American V8 into a Hilux takes away the soul of the car.
