  • i noticed your water is not rushing through so fast like most dredges i see have you added something to calm the water , but keep the suction still?

  • I see some dredges with the suction for the nozzle being created at the imput to the sluice and others with a 2nd hose running to the nozzle and creating the suction at the nozzle. Is one way better than the other? Which has the advantage? Why? Trying hard to learn the basics from You Tube videos. Spending my time before my money.

  • @Whitebear329 its best to get a up to date dredge. the control over how much silt and rock you allow through makes all the differnce.

  • hey im in new zealand but i was wondering how the dredge works cos i dought you suck gravel and rock through the pump as it would have a super short life span... so how do you suck the gravel up> and then deposit it into your sluce?

  • the water presure built up by the water pump. is sent down the jet tube ..which creates a sucsion. if you stop my video at frame 1:31 you will see a white tube coming out of the motor, it goes down to thecopper looking tube at the bottom .and is forced forward. there is were the draw starts. and pulls a suction into my sluice through the tube i use to feed it under water.

  • @scorpiotoyou Thanks so much i now under stand .... pretty clever way of doing it :)

  • is that a 3'' or a 4'' thanks

  • its a 4 inch keene mini dredge. there is a keene 4 inch full size dredge as well. just a biger floats and heavyer. and the sluice is 6-8 inches longer? the mini is just fine but does not like ruff water better to get the large one for that

  • @scorpiotoyou thanks would u recomend a 3 or 4 for one to two people

  • a 3 or four inch is a job even for two people, if your on flate ground and you can park with feet of the water i would say ether. but if you need to get down slopes or short dist, with uneven ground try the three. you would get a better understanding of what your up against if you went to a store to see one. but advise you to not be fooled by the weight , there only about 250 all together but hauling all that weight any dists is tuff! not for the weeek!

  • @scorpiotoyou yea lol i understand i was hoping to get away with me and my dad but i get what u are saying its more aquard than heavy i appreciate ur help and ill let u know what i get thanks

  • @scorpiotoyou Does the mini do good on the extremely small fines? I took my dad to amds and showed him the mini 4 and he said" thats thing is a toy" and he pointed to the big six sitting outside"how about that!" The bigger the better i guess, not when hauling it throught the woods i guess!

  • @rcsupercubbuilder yes it does do really good on fines. it takes a wail to get use to the adjusting the sluice to get the right action. but i would buy it then a six.. the weight is much easyer to deal with....

  • So much for dredging. Arnold just signed SB-670 into law placing a immidiate moratorium on suction dredging in California until the DFG gets off their lazy asses and completes the enviromental inpact study they started in 2005. BOO HOO their goes that hobby.

  • i dont know what to say are you for it or against it?

  • I am for dredging and against eco nazis. I dredge mineral bar also. Seen you out there a few times. It amazes me that the "brain trust" we call our legislature could possible believe that banning dredging will magically bring back all the fish. Had they thought about it they would only have banned it in rivers that spawn the endegered species. But I guess with enough gaming money you can influence anyone to vote for anything. Time to dig out the sluice box and the shovel.

  • i agree with you, and ouch my back is killing me..but were is my sluice box??? i guess its all i have to finish the season out. i would to let arnald see my sluice up close reeeeeeeal close!

  • As always i love get out with you and you look so good in the wet suit

  • nice i started about 3 month ago 1st with a 10" pan then a small sluice box, havent pulled anything big out yet but maybe you could invite me next time :)

  • maybe, were do you live? if i am down on the river, just say hello. i have a vid going to post in a few days ..stay tuned!

  • The gov vetoed the bill!!! YAY!!

  • Great video! Can`t wait to see the gold! Good luck on your next hunt.

  • thanks yulelah!!! i still haven't seen your last vid but i will tonight! have a good one.

  • NIce work!1 Can't wait for part too!! Your a PRO at this.... Someday that HEAVY nugget's gonna pop right out for you!! It WILL!!! GL & HD

  • man i hope so i like your thinking..lol i have a feeling that that hole i am dredging is going to pay off.

  • you and everyone else is asking the same questions, all in all its the karuk indians and environ-freeks crying about the salmon..... maybe someone should tell cali to re-open the hatcheries and tell the karuks to stop leaving the thousands of fish they net rotting on the banks, oh and tell the japanese to stop catching them too... just rediculous, this wouldnt happed if a democrat wasnt in office, hell they are talking about closing yosemite cause they "cant afford it:". solution: fire some FS.

  • the bill to stop dredging in califorina, its just about in the gov's had to be signed.

  • cant wait untill the next video. Lets see the GOLD!!!! Good luck

  • hey guys, thanks for the concern about the bill. i could never think that a small time dredger could in any way do any harm to the rivers and life in it. the dept of fish and game ..has made many studies and all! said the same thing (no impact) )

  • what are you gunna do when that rediculous bill passes?
