  • Ive heard of the battle tech table top form time to time. Glad to learn some details about it and actually see some models.

Battle tech universe is probably just as large scale and detailed as 40k. I think it has been around even longer as well. Either way the fluff is very good stuff and strategy is very important to the designers.

  • unmatched for quality and detail

  • @ten759

I hate Resin? Did I mention I hate Resin? There will no longer be metal models from GW, its going all to Resin now. The price is going up, the quality is going down. And then there are the price hikes on Plastics. Sorry dude, but I'm not sailing on that ship.

  • @Lanparth ive never worked with gw resin befor. but i think it might be an improvement i dont like the metal models. the GW metal parts ALWAYS get warped. especialy on swords and the kroot ox models the peices dont fit together properly. id probably be more happy when the metal is gone

  • i don't really understand your point of view at the moment. i've been playing for almost 10 years now and the prices and manegment by me haven't gotten worse as far as i can tell. in fact i spend less now than i did befor on models. i recently i switched to dark eldar and its only 24 bucks for a unit of ten kabalites or wytches. the only thing i have to complain about is they discontinued bizar bizars. but our shop manager still dose them about once a year. also gw models are still in my opinion

  • Don't repaint your first Mech, mate. it's a piece of nostalgia.

  • Nice, I havent played Battletech for a long time, I did bought the first starter set (86'87?) when Harmony Gold sued Fasa for using Robotech (Macross) mecha's and they where small folded pieces of cardboard with a printed front and back pictures of the mechs. Those were awsome memories, and my first tabletop boardgame aswell.

  • The only reason why i dont think ill leave GW and spread myself too thin with other system is, as someone else pointed out, the support will be there. My local game store frits from warmachine/hordes then to dystopian future ect ect. They keep moving from game to game (in terms of support). However the two systems that you will be able to find a skirmish game every time would be Fantasy/40k.

  • @johnkerry7

And that's cool man. But after the last 5 years of kinda bullshit business practices on their part, I'm willing to give other companies a shot.

  • @Lanparth i didn't say i wouldn't look for alternative models ;)

  • @TomDonson

They are like 40-70 feet tall, just as a heads up. Not suits really, more giant robots :O

  • Woot, I love Battletech and still play it to this day.

  • kinda sounds like gundams but made from scrap which is cool

  • @darkdragonsoul99

They aren't made from scrap per say, its just they aren't being produced in game anymore. Which means you need a new weapons system? You gotta take from someone else :P

  • @Lanparth lol you could scavenge an entire mech together then it'd literally be made of scrap. Space rednecks FTW.

Honestly I always loved the sci fi stuff where it's high tech but in a amazingly low tech way boot strapping your way a crossed the universe.

  • My dreamcar is a Marauder:)

  • @stumpythumper

Mine would likely be a WVR-6M Wolverine. Perfect balance of Firepower, speed/maneuverability, and armour.

  • great vid.... was good seeing some of the old minis i have some hidden in deep boxes will have to revisit them and i agree with you some fine games out there that deserve to be played and no better time then now since GW is going crazy ..
