some of my best best friends are miners :) lol. still play this game and it is the best of the series along with the soundtrack. love the precision rifle :D
RF2 was a good shooter but honestly it barely connected with the first game. Unless i missed some huge bridge the only real similarity was nano-tech, and they took that in a huge direction. I mean, all it really explains is that people stole it a bunch, and then a dick-tatorship, and then came all the special soldiers and then came mindless killing machines. I will admit i was impressed when i noticed that, inside Sopots citadel, that there were Ultor corps. arm boxes! :D anyone else see them?
@Deadlyflameb1 Yeah, didn't notice them before because I was too busy fighting the Nano Elite. Also, don't listen to what the reviews/critics say about RF2. It DOES serve to the other games, for mainly three things: Ultor Corporation of course, definately the Nanotechnology, and the mention of Capek in the intro. Oh yeah, and the EDF secured the Nanotech, and handed it over to the United Republic(the people you fight in RF2's first mission), which was then stolen by Sopot, as depicted.
@8monoxxx Actually yes, Dan Wentz is the composer. He did Descent, FreeSpace, Red Faction, Saints Row, Summoner and is currently working on a Descent-style MMO called "MinerWars".
@8monoxxx Hey no problem! I've actually been in touch with Dan Wentz and have included some samples of his "Accused" track in my most current song "Shades of Red" which I wrote as a Red Faction-esque tribute to him. If anyone is interested you can PM me for the website address.
@crabfight yeah no shit, Guerrilla and the new one are in my opinion only bare the name Red Faction. I mean if you never played the original 2, you'd have no idea what the fuck is even going on in Guerrilla. They could have made a such better bridge between 1 and 2 with a FPS then a crappy boring sandbox
They should start making games like this again, no wonder their games don't sell and whatnot and everyone pirates stuff, it's because their games suck and are not worth a penny.
@royokihokage Right after you align the satellite dish, you go back down, open the door, there's a heavy merc with a railgun waiting to ruin your day. Scared the shit out of me first time it happened.
man i remember playing this on ps2... i was about 7 or 8 years old... thats what i love about playing M games at a young age.... u get to have and experience amazing classic games... and when u grow up... u will remember them... im 14 now playing on 360 mw2 ... my gt is oneKNIGHT454 if ya wanna play
Insanely awesome, catches the feel of being trapped in the mines so well :O

:\ I really need to buy the sequels XD I still have the same ol' Red Faction on my ps2...can't wait for Armageddon anyway!
cerberusiscool 1 year ago
@cerberusiscool dnt bother the sequels are a joke and give this legendary game a bad name :(
crackett16 1 year ago
I've heard how the sequels aren't actually a "sequel" and I'm aware of that, but I'd like to know how they are like anyway xD

This song needs to play at the end of Red Faction Armageddon! just for nostalgic feel to it.

@24CDSS Then again, they wouldn't do it.. Because they KNOW, that this song would then be the best part of the whole game.

anyone know the name of the music whne u first get to the merc base on redfaction one in the mines, that awesome song comes on but what is it
mattybrass 1 year ago
Fits underwater.
In fact the piano sounds like the one in the Descent 3 level 14 music (the level with all the shark robots).
Dan Wentz should have composed for D3.
Wazzazzle 1 year ago
@Wazzazzle Red Faction is a continuation of desent 3
dgenerate707 1 year ago
@dgenerate707
It started off as Descent 4, but then the devs decided to make it a totally different series.
crabfight 1 year ago
@crabfight so does the red faction/ultor storyline start at Descent 3?
dgenerate707 1 year ago
@dgenerate707
Nope. Don't even think about that series in any way, there's no type of connection at all whatsoever.
However, Saint's Row, which was made after Red Faction 1, turns out to be a prequel to Red Faction. Ultor appears, for one thing...
