They do not speak créole, they speak louisiania french.
I'm a french-canadian from Québec and I confirm this has nothing to do with regular french canadian. It's more like the acadian french (New-brunswick, NFL, Nova Scotia, PEI) not the standard canadien french like in Northern Ontario, Québec or Manitoba., and even less Créole...
our culture unique our people unique. creoles can be white or black anyone of french or spanish descent born in louisiana . LOUISIANA MADE LOUISIANA PROUD !!!!
@13lael There is no such thing as "Cajun French". It's called "Louisiana French". French was spoken in the Louisiana Territory long before the first Acadians ever set foot on Louisiana Territory soil. When they arrived they only numbered about 3,000 compared to the other French speakers who were much greater in number. 3000 Acadians definitely did not change the way everyone else spoke French especially as they were the minority. "Cajun French" is a made up term that came out during the '50s.
I find this video interesting as an Acadian from Canada. Acadia is in NewBrunswick area of Canada and the British deported alot of them to Louisinia and they became known as Cajuns.. This dialect of french sounds alot like my grandmothers..
BTW my grandma is a white Acadian. Cool stuff.. Id love to visit Louisiana and New Orleans some day. and if I had my choice to live anywhere in the USA it be New Orleans or New York City1
@MrsNicky001 Creole does not mean mixed. it means someone who is a descendant of the people of the colonies. The colony of Louisiana had People from France, Spain, Senegal Gambia, Canada(and many more places). All of their descendants are Creoles. Being white or black or "mixed" has nothing to do with it. Creoles come in all colors and shades and one's race cannot be applied to it. A person who is mixed is no more creole than someone who is all black or all white.
@DanieleCreole Hey you are aware that Beyonce is Creole!! Her family has roots in New Iberia Louisiana!! Her mother is Creole and both of her parents are Creoles!!!
@MrsNicky001 If someone asks, tell them that you are a descendant of the people who lived in the Colony of Louisiana. True the culture itself is a mix but that doesn't exactly apply the the people who hold that culture. A white guy with blond hair and blue eyes is just as creole as a guy with dark brown skin and dark brown as as well as a guy with medium tan skin and wavy hair and green eyes. Culture is what defines us, not our outward appearance or some racial mixture.

@Thedarksecret1 You have the wrong idea of what "Creole" means. Creole has nothing to do with someone's race. Creole is someone or the descendant of someone born in the colonies not to include native americans. There were both whites and blacks in the colonies and people who were mixed. A creole can be a white person or a very dark skinned black person. Race and skin tone play absolutely no part in what a Creole is.
I so want to learn how to speak Creole French as I am part Seychellois, but because I was raised in the UK I haven't had the opportunity to visit my (part) homeland or anything yet :(
@gabyrig French on the North American continent has basically the same origin which is 17th century French if I'm not mistaken. When I hear someone from Louisiana, Missouri and Canadians speak French I can hear very many similarities in pronunciation and vocabulary.
one of the top states i want to visit is louisiana!

Sounds more like Montreal French than Creole. There was no creole that I could hear. Just the French and the nasal Canadian pronunciation.
