how to i connect pin 7 from ic555? before or after the 10k resistor?

@Roflmane I just realized that I said it's just a resistor but it's a 3 pin 10k pot.

The 10K pot can reduce the flash speed from not moving to whatever minimum time constant is possible with the C1 value you choose.

I have 2 more questions where do i connect *7 out of the 555 chip does it go to either side of the 10k resistor or does that matter and is there a way to make them chase faster or slower

I am trying to build this and I am not well versed in electronics can you tell me where the negative side of the battery is connected and where that is shown on your schematic
