Thanks everyone for watching our trailer. While we were hoping for a November release it's not ready yet. We are doing a private test screening in Milwaukee on December 7 and then a general public release in the spring. Stay tuned! It will be worth the wait!
I am from central Europe-Czech Republic, city of Pilsen west part of Czech Republic which was liberated by US Army May 5 1945,after 65 years was for me ulitimate honour to met and invited to my house US veterans who help liberated my country.WE NEVER FORGET,THEY BRING US FREEDOM !!!
Hooyah, never forget my older brothers and sisters who stood the watch. Never forget my brothers and sisters who stood watch with me. A veteran never forgets those who are standing the watch.
You know, it would be really nice to show this YouTube to some of the WWII Vets, but I don't know if they'd like reading some of the nasty comments. Can we keep our ideologies out of this, and honor THEM? In these old guys' time, there was politeness, even in disagreement. Liberal, Conservative, who cares? Let's play nice and honor these old guys (and gals) as the heroes they are.
If there are 5 dislikes, for whatever stupid reason, let's just send this YouTube link to our friends to "Like" it, and the 5 won't seem like very much at all! I think we can get many more views and many more "Likes", don't you? :) After all, the movie is coming out in November, and I can't wait! My dad is going on the Honor Flight from Cleveland. He is 94. He's going in a few weeks and is very excited!
I recently recorded a new song titled Lucky Forward, a song that began as a tribute to my Uncle but it quickly took on a greater meaning of thanks to all veterans who have served. On my last trip to Washington DC, an Honor Flight group was at the memorial and I was so moved. I know it was part of the emotion inside me that helped write the song. I will add a link to this video on my web site and thank you so much. Tami Mulcahy
My Grandfather was part of the invasion force at Normandy, I wish he was here to take part in this. He never saw the memorial and like so many others rarely talked about his experiences. Thank you to all veterans living and dead for your contributions. Life would be much different without you all.
We can never thank these Vets enough. They have suffered in silence for years. I've been to the Memorial and it's very fitting that these brave Service Members were flown there.
Thank God that they finally were honored with a Memorial...one of the most deserved.
I wish my dad was still here to visit the WWII Memorial in Washington D.C. I miss you, Dad, and think of you every day when I look at your Bronze Star for meritorious service during the invasion of Southern France, August 1944. You are and will always be my hero.
Heres to Uncle Billy. I knew him from a picture on our farmhouse wall. He will always be 20 years old. He liked baseball and music. His last day was spent at the tailguns of a B-17. RIP Billy. I am proud to have sworn the same oath.
My father and I went on Flight 5 with Lone Star Honor Flight, out of Montgomery, Texas, one year ago on May 22. He is 90 years old and was with the 101st Airborne in WWII and was one of the Battered Bastards of Bastogne. This trip to Washington, DC, for him, was a trip of a lifetime and that day was one of the best days of his life. On behalf of him and the thousands of men and women who participated in the Honor Flight Program and their families, thank you to all who made this possible.
This movie looks great. God bless our veterans and God Bless the United States of America. And to the three people who disliked this video I wish I could build a time machine, make you sign up to fight in the war, go through basic training, ship off to Europe and be the first ones out of the boat to storm Normandy so you could be the bullet magnets you deserve to be.

The last veteran of World War I died not long ago. This means we don't have much time left to give our World War II veterans the thanks we truly owe them.
My father was in the 101st Airborne dropped behind enemy lines on D-Day, captured, escaped, fought with the French underground, walked to Switzerland and was then flown back to England and then back to the war. He went on to liberate a concentration camp with his unit. This truly was the "greatest generation" and until Afghanistan the last war with a moral cause. Our military is truly the best of the best of the USA!
@highflyer0817 3 cocksuckin, godhating, communist, unpatriotic, son of a bitch who cant understand that without these hereos they wouldnt be here! GOD BLESS AMERICA!! GOD BLESS OUR FREEDOM!! AND GOD BLESS THE HEROES WHO HAVE FOUGHT TO PROTECT IT!!!!
I am proud to have served for nearly 22 years, to carry on the heritage of these men. Unfortunately our current civilian leadership sees the Military as the enemy and none of our Generals has the balls to stand up to them.
@vVv11511vVv Neo cons? are you a retarded liberal dickhead with no education about why wars happen and how they are fought? do you know anything about courage or what it is to do what is right even if it means giving your life? you think all wars are wrong but you have never fought for anyhing because you are a coward that would rather hide than fight and degrade those that have balls! you pussy ass punk bitch!
@vVv11511vVv nope...I am right! you are an idiot! I don't need to be be civil when correct! you don't like people that fight for what is right! you are a coward that would not fight and be conquered because you have no balls!
Most of us that serve (my self and my 3 brothers) do it for reasons like this ! We enjoy our freedoms everyday that most civilians take for granted because of our unseen heroes from WW1 and WW2 .. God bless them all and may the memory of them NEVER DIE or BE FORGOTTEN !
What's with the jungle music at the end? Dah fuck? And they got that "1000 veterans die everyday" quote from Ken Burns and The War documentary. Also, I find it funny that the death of Osama completely overshadowed the death of the last World War 1 combatant.
RIP Uncle Richard - Richard served in the US Army during WW II from March 19, 1943-April 18, 1946. He landed in France on June 8, 1944, two days after D-Day. He participated in two campaigns: Central Europe – Ardennes – Normandy, and Northern France – Rhineland. Richard was wounded in action March 9, 1945, during the battle for the Bridge at Remagen. He was hospitalized over a year recovering from his grave injuries. He went on to be a very successful architect after college on the GI Bill.
My cousin served in Italy and in the Pacific. I am so grateful that I still have him here. He is 86, but still in good health. I am so grateful for his service and my freedom, and I can still tell him that! THANK GOD FOR YOU ALL and for your SERVICE!
Veterans CHANGED WORLD HISTORY! These men stood up and faced death eye to eye. A minute number of politicians ever served in the miltary. I am thankful for these veterans and the lessons they taught me that encouraged me to serve over 26 years in the Navy. I DETEST THE COWARDS that refused to serve and now serve in Congress. The military today is not so different, they still give to America a blank check payable up to and including their life. Yet Congress finds ways to strip them of benefits.

Thx vets for winning the war for the communists against the anti-communists. The chaos that permeates the world today is a result of your 'victory for freedom.' I hope you are happy with the world you have given us.
@DestroyZOG18a You certainly must be happy with it. You have the freedom to speak your mind as loudly as you wish without fear, no matter how stupid your thoughts may be- and obviously are. At the very least, you should thank them for that- even if you choose to ignore all the other freedoms they provided for you.
@oleheat On the contrary, we are slowly but surely losing our very right to speak under the guise "hate speech," just as we are losing our very country to the Third World immigrants who our govt keeps letting in. And it just so happens that the govt, media and financial institutions are occupied predominantly by the very people these vets freed from the concentration camps during WW2.
The problem with Americans these days is that their hearts are bigger than their brains.
Watching this brings tears to my eyes. These guys are TRUE heroes, not the modern-day sports star, movie or music star. Only those who faced death while preserving our freedom deserve the recognition as heroes. May God bless all of them!
My grandfather was chosen to be part of this group on May 10th. It's an amazing honor and a very emotional tribute to all that are part of this amazing event. I can't wait to be part of this event and hear the amazing stories that will be told.
I am proud to post this on my FB page. Maybe its being an older American, myself, which makes me so proud of these veterans. I hope not. I hope that ALL Americans recognize the gift the great men and women who fought and died in WWII gave to us. It is because of them, that we are here, in this forum, allowed to have our say. God Bless them all.
I am the son of John Allen, and the nephew of Charles Allen, whom I am named after. My father made it back from the european theatre. My uncle died in the campaign in the Philippines in April 1945. I never met my uncle. My dad was a real hero to me. He was shot in hand to hand combat with the enemy in France in 1944. Patched up and sent back to continue until April 1945. He passed away in 1981. He was my hero. I loved him.
16,112,566 Americans served in the armed forces during WWII - we are grateful, honored and indebted to them all!
I am the proud granddaughter of James E Glassner, WWII veteran - God rest his soul - served with US Army, 462d AAA AW Bn - an attachment to the 2nd Infantry Division brought the battalion to Butgenbach for the Battle of the Bulge, and then on to the Rhine River at Remagen to defend the Ludendorff Bridge.
Great remembrance!!! My Dad served in the navy in WWI and was badly wounded. My brother and I both served in the army during WWII. He for five years as a Captain and I as a Staff Sergeant for three years. I earned a campaign star for the Battle of the Bulge. The three us were always very proud of our service to the country.. Unfortunately I am the only on left but still going strong. We live in a wonderful country. One most worthy of defending.
As a volunteer oral historian of WWII veteran stories, I became aware of the "Honor Flight" program in 2008, when a veteran who had agreed to share his story mentioned that he would soon be making his flight to see the WWII Memorial. The memorial is an awesome sight to see, which can only be enhanced by the sight of those who's comrades it honors, visiting with old friends, sharing memories of the past and being thanked for their service by visitors of all ages.
What about Korean Veterans and Vietnam Vets. WW2 vets deserve this im not saying that, however no one honors the forgotten war vets ie Korea and the Vietnam vets.
@Weiberts Not the amount when compared to WW2, they dont call the Korean war the forgotten war because they think it sounds good. All I am saying is we should put all veterans on a priority list. The Korean war memorial is small and the Vietnam memorial isnt as grand as the ww2.
@cwood4ever We are not forgotten. I wrote about my dad and uncle above. I went to Vietnam in 1969. My father was proud. I know, we weren't treated the greatest when we came back, but as time past the country and the people made up for that oversight. We have the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and also the Korean War Veterans Memorial. We are just older men now. With good and bad memories as all veterans have. In 30 years time the new vets will have the same. Thank.
A member of our church went on that trip as a WWII veteran. An old guy who doesn't say much, but has a deep look in his eye's and face giving you the idea that he thinks a lot, just doesn't say much. RN
My dad was a WWII pilot, only 3 survived out of his squadron-according to my mom as dad never talked about it. He later flew for EAL. I will be getting his WWII records so I can see what squadrons he flew with and instructed. I have many pictures of his flying friends and I am sure there are relations out there who would appreciate them. My wife and I were among the first donors to build the memorial to the Greatest Generation. God bless our vets and their families.
How invested in your stupidity do you have to be to dislike this video? These veterans gave their all to save the world from one of history's most evil triads ever conceived by the mind of man. Honestly, who are the 2 dopes who don't like this video and this idea to thank those who gave their all in world's time of great need?
The most beautiful thing about these veterans is their tears. No other soldier on this planet has so much compassion and deep appreciation for their freedom. They gave so much, and continue to give. The tears are an extraordinary reminder of the sacrifice every soldier gives.
@thomaserossi - you can rest assured that there is always a conservative jackass that has to make such assinine political statement out something to commemorate something good and non-political. You are the probelm with the world today. And I'm sure you never even served in the boy scouts.
While on picket duty for the Normandy invasion, my fathers ship, the USS Nelson DD 623 was struck by a torpedo from a German E Boat. It blew off the stern, but did not sink her. She was towed to Belfast for repairs. My father lost 25 of his shipmates. He survived the attack. He was never able to talk about it until just before he died. Anchors Aweigh, WW2 Navy vets!
My Father was a WWII vet. A more honorable and courageous man never walked the earth. I think the tribute paid them with this program has extreme merit and should be supported by the entire population of the united states of America. If you really want to show respect to those who served, yet never returned to the open arms of the country they fought and died for then exercise your right to vote in 2012 and remove the Socialist Statist who presently resides in the White House. Show thanks, vote!
I cant wait to see this! all of our veterans from every allied country deserve the best we can give them, they are a generation of giants to whom all of us owe everything we have and take for granted.
@nottinmatterz2day, I think that if we were fighting this same war today, many of the same anti war people would oppose it. Especially the way we killed people back then. They intended to win the war . . . . we don't fight to win wars today.
@oilhammer04 uhh what is winning the war? It can't be won. there's no goal. we could kill the whole population with nukes would that win the war? then we couldn't even use the land because there'd be so much radiation there
@nottinmatterz2day, folks could have said the same thing in 1941, because it was a *world* war. The Japanese were so soundly beaten that they knew our God was superior to their god who had let them down and they gave up the fight. The Germans gave up, too, when we overwhelmed them. Hitler committed suicide.
Beautiful. I'm always happy to see our WWII veterans doted on. My grandfather was in the Battle of the Bulge and my memories of him telling me stories is still very vivid. As a kid, I felt like I was there and I was always horrified. During his funeral, an Army officer played Taps and everyone noticed he had a tear in his eye while playing. Proved to me that our WWII veterans are looked upon as heroes though my grandpa had told me that the real heroes are the ones who never made it home.
What a moving tribute! I was in DC Regan last year when an Honor Flight landed. I was one of many passengers waiting at the gate who gave these amazing heroes a standing ovation! I am so thankful that I was able to talk to this group of WW II fighter pilots. They were so humbled at the honor of fighting for our country! I treasure all the pictures and stories from my Grandfather before he passed away about his fighting adventures in the South Pacific on the USS Tennessee!
Great tribute to the Greatest Generation. Both of my grandfathers served in World War II and neither knew about the Memorial. I'm glad that there are over 1,000 more grandfathers (and grandmothers!) who have seen this wonderful Memorial. Honor Flight, this documentary, and the Memorial itself are three of the best tributes one can find to the Greatest Generation!
Beautiful job! If this is indicative of the movie, you should be very proud of yourselves for documenting/preserving these moments for these heroes, their families, and fellow mankind.
What a great initiative to honor these brave veterans!
Very powerful video that should make anyone want to pay their respects to these men and woman who served us back in WWII. Thank you so much to who ever is taking the time to volunteer and help these men and woman create memories. Thank you Charlie Sykes for getting the message across Wisconsin over the radio.
God bless them! The title," Greatest Generation" is perfect. I wish they could teach in our schools..where the students would shut up and listen ...and learn something wonderful!

I am proud to have served for nearly 22 years, to carry on the heritage of these men. Unfortunately our current civilian leadership sees the Military as the enemy and none of our Generals has the balls to stand up to them.

This is beautiful. It makes me proud to serve. Thank you for those who sacrificed before me.
On a side note, does anyone know the music from 0:00-0:58? It's beautiful and fitting. Thanks.

DestroyZOG18a 9 months ago
@DestroyZOG18a You certainly must be happy with it. You have the freedom to speak your mind as loudly as you wish without fear, no matter how stupid your thoughts may be- and obviously are. At the very least, you should thank them for that- even if you choose to ignore all the other freedoms they provided for you.
oleheat 9 months ago

I am the proud granddaughter of James E Glassner, WWII veteran - God rest his soul - served with US Army, 462d AAA AW Bn - an attachment to the 2nd Infantry Division brought the battalion to Butgenbach for the Battle of the Bulge, and then on to the Rhine River at Remagen to defend the Ludendorff Bridge.
krisGlassner 10 months ago 3

Thanks for the "Honor Flight"

What about Korean Veterans and Vietnam Vets. WW2 vets deserve this im not saying that, however no one honors the forgotten war vets ie Korea and the Vietnam vets.
cwood4ever 10 months ago
@cwood4ever There are programs for them too.
Weiberts 10 months ago
@Weiberts Not the amount when compared to WW2, they dont call the Korean war the forgotten war because they think it sounds good. All I am saying is we should put all veterans on a priority list. The Korean war memorial is small and the Vietnam memorial isnt as grand as the ww2.
cwood4ever 10 months ago

Show thanks, vote!

nottinmatterz2day 10 months ago
@nottinmatterz2day, I think that if we were fighting this same war today, many of the same anti war people would oppose it. Especially the way we killed people back then. They intended to win the war . . . . we don't fight to win wars today.
oilhammer04 10 months ago
@oilhammer04 uhh what is winning the war? It can't be won. there's no goal. we could kill the whole population with nukes would that win the war? then we couldn't even use the land because there'd be so much radiation there
nottinmatterz2day 10 months ago
