I agree on what you said about "The Old Man Logan" story arc when I read that story and the map I was like okay well the earth gone to hell. plus some of the leaders in the controlled areas might not be the same ones we remembered: like Kingpin he maybe a different person taking the name.
New Frontier was awsome but I never read the graphic novel. I cant say much for DC cuz I only own vol 3 of 52 and that pretty much it. Identity Crisis was really great and emotional. I guess a tighter continuity and not all over the place would be good. And Iv found its not very new reader friendly like Marvel is and they expect the readers to know to much un-likey Marvel were the characters sums up their origin in a nutshell in a thought bubble or sumthin. Idk I dont read to much DC...
I was just watching the begining of Unforgiven today a few hours ago. Incredible movie. Anywho you read alotta comic I dont read cuz most are DC or other Marvel stuff.
Mark Millar said 1985, Old Man Wolverine, and Fantastic Four's run, and Kick Ass all are connected. weird huh?
I figure DC's wants to go crazy and test out new ideas before the end of Final Crisis. After FC, they have to have 1 settled format for their comic lineup or expect more fans leaving them.
These big events are getting too huge to keep one uping. Either Skrulls invading or New Gods coming back as black people(The Dark Side Club) are going to be hard to top.
Yeah I'm not a fan of the Dark Side Club. It just seems....I dunno, weird. The whole New Gods thing was kind of dumb. I also think that they combine ALOT of events at the same time. countdown to mystery, death of new gods, blah blah on and on. I had never heard about all of them being connected DARN YOU!!! I have to start picking up 1985 now hahah
A big problem with DC is that they have few stories(books) that new readers can get into and old readers will like, as marvel has with the new invince. iron man book. When i started rearing last year, my first two title were indy. My first dc and marvel titles were trades, nothing else interested me.
I also think that Marvel is much more accessible in their storytelling don't you? I mean, DC has just gone from one crossover to another without giving anyone a heads up on what's going on. You'd think that they'd do something savvy like post timelines and plot synopsis's as a url on their comics so that people can try to figure out what's going on
I started reading comics around this time last year; when I first started, I really tried reading DC AND Marvel books at the same time. I think the one thing for DC that's turning off a lot of readers is they're makings books specifically for DC fans steeped in their history. I could barely understand what was happening at all save a few DC titles(Batman, Green Lantern). They don't have recap pages like Marvel, which was one of the main reasons I started buying more Marvel and less DC titles.
that's a REALLLLLy good point. I'm pretty good about comic lore in general, but it does seem like alot of what they are bringing up is something that was PRE - me, and then they dont' spend anytime explaining it. A recap page WOULD be nice.
weird youtube hates my comments...pfah! That's awesome that you worked that out with the girls. I just turned to the back page to follow your choices and they seem dead on, down to Harley Quinn with her little Joker Staff.

That's true...Maybe it's a skinnier kingpin, or another criminal taking the mantle. Heck it could be Daredevil for all we know

that go's along with all the other leaders as well though Norman thats a hard one seeing as how he has a healing factor

the New Frontier is a pretty cool graphic novel. But I am amazed that DC's cartoons often outshine their comics.
