@vaerah I don't think because he can't scream as loud as he could in some ranges when he was younger has he "lowered the bar" in any way whatsoever.
You get weak in one range of singing you just go to another and how beautifully harmonic the new Pusc, record and live shows are proves that. I've seen recent live shows, of Tool and pusc.,+ you can't fool that. Unless you have done the same I don't know how to relate. peace.
@HeuristicThought His voice was angelic and pristine during the Aenima/Salival years and even a ways beyond, but to me the haunting angelic appeal has started to escape him, and it's perfectly understandable at his age. He still sounds great but the bar must be lowered.
I just saw Tool in Reno the other weekend and honestly playing songs so rare like Hooker With a Penis and Pushit plus songs so loved like Fortysix and Two or Jambi, The band and especially Maynard just went all out and did the best I've ever seen. He missed one verse on Lateralus but honestly who the fuck cares when you're watching Tool in 2012. Absolute dream come true for me.
@darkglamour666 Na, I honestly didnt even know there was a tour till a friend toldme, and the only concert dates i saw were on t-shirts at the show. sorry :/
I know a few people that would kill to sit and drink a glass of wine with maynard(including myself). And without asking a bunch of idiotic questions! FUCK YOU CARSON DAILY!!
It's amazing what Maynard has accomplished in his life creatively, for 15 years I've been immersed in it, it's just kinda sad almost that these people actually age to the point where they can no longer keep up with re-capitulations, but also, in a way, they've already re-capitulated these great songs so many times that they've kinda done it enough and have therefore contributed their part to music, to art, to history, and what more can we ask of them.
I will not apologize after saying this; "Carson is an idiot. Every question he conjured was completely absent minded. I am so very glad his career is short lived just like our very lives.
true of false: Maynard, Danny, Adam and Justin are retiring Tool after they tour and release their newest album this upcoming year. heard this rumor, don't know if it's true or not. ANZERS PLZ
I hate to say this but if he would get some pain pills only while on tour he could push his throat back to where it was it would take a lot of training on stage but those pills would allow him to push it ...lol with out pain and resetting his voice strengthening his muscles and what not
I saw some of the clips of the recent tour last year and the vocals were not the same anymore. I'm surprised he admits it. But I'm happy for him with his vineyard. I'm happy I got to see him in his glory days. ..
I cant frickin wait for the new album, whenever it comes.

It is a singular fxckin' ultimate poke-in-the-Eye for anyone who actually has a soul, that Carson is the one who gets to do this interview. Sin.
