Claptrack...lol, love the video, I realized I have only taken 1 photo since locing my hair. I still haven't learn to embrace each stage of my loc journey. I will have my sisterlocks for 2 years this Oct. When I ran across your videos, it was great. You had loc styles for my shorter locs that I actually could do myself. Keep the videos coming.
@redsunshine07 I feel ya! embracing every stage comes with time, trust no one wakes up and loves it everyday! I am so glad you are enjoying my vids! I am def glad to have you as a subby. I think sisterlocs are so gorg! Check out Naturhoflo channel, she is doing a sisterlock journey, she is in her 9th month. Yayyyy subby!! :))
Interesting story. I thought the bald cut would be courageous. I felt twa was safer so I took that route. The beginning is always rough. I rocked it like it was down my back though. lol!
@ibyl I bet you did! Just from your comments I can tell we are going to get along great!!! luving it!! The "Amber Rose" was wayyy too courageous for my big ole head however I love it on other women. It it courageous which makes it so sexy!
Great video - very interesting to hear about the trials and tribulations of your locs! Even though you didn't like your locs at first you did well to stick with them. Also, by always trying to think of a way to hide them at first, in the long term it has helped you to come up with awesome ways of styling you hair! I love your hairstyle in this video! I'm rubbish at hairstyles but I'm sure I will get used to it eventually - I hope :)
@monicaRocksLocs aww thanks so much! I think u are right, I would prob alrdy be styled out if I had been styling since day 1. Thanks for watching and ur kind words. Stick around my channel, my goal is to have u styling like a professional :)))
yes man those rastaman, lol now they always scared me when i was younger hahahaha. but umm funny i never went through the ugly stage...hmmm i always loved my locs :) but i'm glad u fell in love with them eventually. That braid thing used to get to me too and still does UGH!!
thanks for the video.... i love my sisterlocks but some days i want to chop them off to. but i am happy that 8 months ago i decided to start this journey
I love watching this. I love your energy and your personality! I pretty much had the same experience as you...but probably worse! I didn't really like my locs until after a year or so. But most people knew I was locking and were pretty encouraging especially my family.
@tbey82 Thanks so much Tbey! I have only been watching ur vids since forever! Its great to have support especially from the people close to you cause it makes the "ugly" phase not so bad..ur encouraged to keep going :)) Thanks so much for watching and thanks for making the twist out vid! Thanks to you I am so loving it. I had alot of fails with braidouts so this twistout was a savior. I just recorded a vid abt it where I totally thanked you....again :))
@JAHLICIA I'm glad that vid was able to help you. You vid on color is really good. I want to color mine but I'm so afraid. I used to color my natural hair all the time. Always in the blonde family. I haven had dark hair like this in years. I'm so bored with it but I'm afraid I'll make a mistake coloring it.
I def have those days and gotta stop and look at my hair to at least find one thing I like about it so I can stay on my journey so I feel u on that. I love ur do... I'm off to attempt a look alike lol
my locs are still a bit short right now, but i have gotten so used to just washing that I dont even care to think up any styles right now but maybe once i get to my year i will get with it!
Every time your accent comes out I'm like a fein grasping the computer screen yelling "more more!" LOL!! --> Now onto the regular scheduled programming. ...It's great that you shared your story because so many of us go through the same thing. It's like we fight with our hair so much in the early stage until we get to a point where we give up and give in to our hair. They always win the fight. lol Great video girl!!
@RacquelNM hahahahhahaha! Glad you liked it, sissy! I miss ur comments. I am trying not to be a hater cause ur working in a awesome resort but do they not know ppl on YT (like me) need you around?? Gosh darnit to tarnations!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha! Whats da damn # for the resort? jk
@Keeb820 I do, I actually have my entire loc jurney in pics on fb (Shali Dali) and I am trying to learn how to turn them into a slideshow to make a vid about...it is sooo not going good but if you have a fb you check it out there.
I guess I left the part out that I am a stylist, so I did most of my styles myself! When I got locs everyone assumed it was out of laziness when it was actually me being tired of being defined by my hairstyles. Like you said its not that serious.
@kweendougie You said a mouthfull when you said you were tired of being defined by ur hairstyles. Oh, you are a stylist? Sooo you whipped ur own hair to perfection. I shoulda been coming to you back then, lol! I wonder how many locs styles YOU have up ur sleeve, hmmmm
I enjoyed listening to your story! I'm coming up on 11 months and sometimes I hate my hair. But I know that as time goes by, my love for my hair will increase! Lol it's hard though cuz I am NOT a patient person. This has definitely been a test! Thanks for the inspiration girl! :-)
@willporsha You are more than welcome. Thanks for sharing some of urs. It is def a journey and it is the "pain and joy" that binds us.. hahahaha! Thanks for watching :))
Thanks for this inspiration! I am the opposite from you in that I have loved all my previous styles at first sight. Then I got twists and I've never hated anything so much. I am 7 months now and im definitely in love! We may "get married soon." Lol
@kweendougie hahahaha! Invite me to the wedding :)) Glad you feel me...Who was ur hairdresser cause I sure needed to be going to them back then cause hunty, I ALWAYS had to go home and fix my hair. lol Thanks for watching homie :)
Nice story! I didn't like my hair for the first 6 months either. Now at 15 months I can do more things to it. Having the bad days teaches me to love my hair even more.
@BiggestMartinFan U are absolutely right! The bad days def teaches you to love ur hair even more. hmm, mind if I add that in the second part of my story? Btw, love ur name..awesome! Thanks for watching :))
@MsIslandSpice I know, right! I do too and sometimes the only thing stopping me is the fact that I alrdy put in abt 16 months :)) Yayyy thanks for watching :))
thats crazy how long you went before people realized you had locs!! I always wore mine down or pulled back in a large elastic so it was really obvious that I was growing locs. great video hun!
Very interesting story.........i watched your vid and i sometimes have the same thoughts..one day i love my hair and then the next i'm like "what the heck"....lol......but like you said going natural - not may people can handle it. It's a journey you have to embrace..
By the way......do you have pics of your journey when you just started? it would be nice to see some inserts of pics in your follow-up vid.
@lewdona HIII!! Thanks so much for watching! Its def a journey and that's exactly my point! I actually have an entire album on fb (Shali Dali) with my loc journey that I chronicled there before I started on YT and I am trying to turn those pics into a slideshow but I am not good with the comp so its taking a bit longer to figure out. I don't even now how to insert pics... hahaha! I know, right! I am gonna get it together for ya, just pray for me!! lol!
Ive got to tell you, I loved every minute of this vid :0)
