if you want to reduce fuel consumption use a skirt around your pot. the rocket stove improves combustion but you have to do something about heat transfer to your pot.

No I just used a screw driver to put the tabs on the lid back down and gave the tabs a gentle tap with a hammer. The tabs will hold the lid on.
